Also a plant (Gloriosa superba) తరిగొర్రెచెట్టు, కుంకుమపువ్వు చెట్టు the Saf-flower plant. అగ్నిహోత్రము fire. అగ్నిహోత్రుడు the god of fire. అగ్నిహోత్రాలు కాల్చుచున్నాడు or చేయుచున్నాడు colloquial for 'he is smoking.'

(p. 102) asi asi. [Skt.] n. A sword. ఖడ్గము. adj. Slight. అల్పమైన అనసిగాయము asi-gāyamu. n. A slight or superficial wound, a slight graze or wound. స్వల్పగాయము. అసిధారావ్రతము asī-dhāra-vratamu a vow to stand on the edge of a sword; (figuratively) being engaged in any hopelessly difficult task. అసిధేను or అసిధేనుక or అసిపుత్రి asidhēnu. n. A knife. ఛురిక, సూరకత్తి. 'సంబంద్ధాసిధేనుల్.' Parij. ii. 118. అసిపత్రము asi-patramu. [Skt.] n. The blade of a sword. కత్తి యొక్క అలుగు or the sheath. కత్తి ఒర. అసిబోవు asi-bōvu. v. n. (p. 109) āgu āgu. [Tel.] v. n. To stop, to stay, asbtain, refrain. To bear (as a cord does a weight.) To be confined, set aside, or reserved. ఆయింటను ఆగబడి యున్నదేవకి (B. X. 75.) Devaki who was kept in restraint. తల్లిదండ్రులులెని బాలురు ఆగ నీవు దిక్కు thou art the refuge of the helpless. పశువులకు ఆరినబీడు land set aside or reserved for pasture. ఇది లేనిది నాకు ఆగదు I cannot get on without this. నా నోటిలో ఆ మాట ఆగదు I cannot keep that word a secret. ఆగు, ఆగించు, ఆచు, ఆపు the causal of ఆగు: āgu. [Tel.] v. t. To stop, check, hinder. To keep, tend. To look to, superintend, guard, protect, preserve. To fold or gather as a flock. నోరాచి మాట్లాడిరి they spoke cautiously. చెయ్యి ఆపక (T. v. 22.) without intermission. నిద్ర ఆచుట to refrain from sleep, keep away drowsiness. రాత్రిళ్లు ఇక్కడ మందులు ఆచుకొని యుండేవారు they used to keep cattle here at nights.

(p. 114) ādhikyamu ādhikyamu. [Skt. from అధికము] n. Greatness. Increase, accumulation, excess, superiority. గొప్పతనము.

(p. 115) ādhidhaivikamu ādhi-daivikamu. [Skt. from దేవ.] adj. Superhuman, supernatural. దైవము వల్ల గలిగినది. ఆధిదైవిక తాపములు sufferings due to supernatural causes.
