(p. 43) adaliñcu or అదల్చు adalinṭsu. [Tel.] v. To frighten, menace, rebuke, reprove. బెదిరించు, గద్దించు. 'అర్భకుల్ తనదూడనదలించ హమ్మనివలుద కొమ్ములగ్రుమ్మ.' N. x. 37. అడలుపు or అడల్పు n. Menace, threatening. బెదిరింపు, గద్దింపు.

(p. 46) adhikṣēpiñcu adhi-kshēpinṭsu. [Skt.] v. t. To blame, to frighten, to threaten. అధిక్షేపము n. Act of blaming or finding fault with.

(p. 63) apasavyamu apa-savyamu. [Skt.] adj. Contrary, opposite to, on the wrong side ప్రతికూలమైన, దక్షిణమైన, అనగా కుడిదైన, అపసవ్యలిపి letters written the wrong way as in a seal. అపసవ్యము n. Putting the braminical thread the wrong way: that is, on the right shoulder and letting it fall on the left side instead of lying on the left shoulder. జందెమును కుడిభుజము మీద నుంచి యెడమభుజమునకు కిందితట్టుగా వేసుకోవడము.

(p. 109) āgātyamu or ఆగాయిత్యము ā-gātyamu. [Tel.] n. Outrageous behaviour, obstinacy, desperation, baseness, villainy. Pretence of agony or injury: threatening to commit suicide.

(p. 110) ācariñcu ācharinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To practise, to observe, to be used to, to do habitually. To put in practice (the precepts of religion), to perform (bathing, &c.) To celebrate (a religious festival.) ఆచరణము ācharaṇamu. n. Doing, performing. ఆచారము, నడత. ఆచారము ācharamu. n. Practice, custom. Rule, fashion, mode, a course of conduct, institute or observance, Religious observance. మతాచారముచొప్పున according to the principles of the creed. ఆచారి āchari. n. A caste title borne by the Vaishnavite Brahmins, the men of the blacksmith and goldsmith castes. సదాచారి a man of good principles. ఆచార్యత్వము āchāryatvamu. n. The office of a priest. ఆచార్యుడు āchāryuḍu. n. A teacher. A priest: a spiritual guide or preceptor: one who invests the student with the sacrificial thread and instructs him in the mysteries of the religion.

(p. 129) āsu āsu. [Tel.] n. Three or five sticks in a line, fixed in the ground, on which thread is so wound as to form the figure of 8; (used in preparing the web for the loom.)

(p. 129) āsukōvi āsu-kōvi. [Tel.] n. A stick through which the thread thus placed is passed. ఆసుపోయు āsu-pōyu. v. i. To pass this thread through the ఆసుకోవి: (in so placing it they run backwards and forwards, and hence) ఆసుపోసినట్టు denotes, backwards and forwards: this way and that way. పడుగుదారము తిప్పినట్లు. ఆసుమాను āsu-mānu. n. A frame work used to adjust the thread. నూలు పోగు పారించుటకు వాడే చట్టము.

(p. 145) īra īra. [Tel.] n. The inner flesh, the core of the heart. A spindle or shank for winding thread. ఈరె.

(p. 148) uṇḍa uṇḍa. [Tel.] n. A lump, a ball, a pellet, a pill or bolus. adj. Round. గుండ్రని. ఉండకోవి uṇḍa-kōvi. n. A rod, a staff. చేతికర్ర. ఉండచీట్లువేయు uṇḍa-chīṭlu-vēyu. v. n. To ballot. ఉండనూలు uṇḍanūlu. n. A ball of thread. See ఉండ్రాయి ఉండవిల్లు uṇḍa-villu. n. A pellet-bow.

(p. 149) ukkeḍa ukkeḍa. [Tel.] n. An oblong ball of thread for a spindle.

(p. 149) uggiñcu ugginṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To weave closely so as to be without any interstices between the threads either of the woof or warp. Also, to flatter. భూషించు.
