(p. 111) aḍi āḍi. An affix (derived from ఆడు) implying 'doer' or 'performer,' as మాయలు tricks, మాయలాడి a rogue: ముద్దులు fondness, ముద్దులాడి a fond girl: కులుకులు graces, కులుకులాడి a lovely woman: టక్కులు pranks, టక్కులాడి a cheat.

(p. 74) amāntamu amāntamu. [H.] adv. Unexpectedly, all at once. Totally, wholly. లటుక్కున, యావత్తున్ను. ఆ రాళ్లను అమాంతముగా ఎత్తినాడు he raised the rocks bodily. అమాంతగాడు [H.] n. An interloper, నడికొల్లగాడు also, a petty dealer. చిల్లరబేరగాడు. అమాంతవర్తకము. Interloping. tricks in trade. అమాంతవర్తకుడు. An interloper in trade. నడికొల్లగాడైన వర్తకుడు.

(p. 134) icca iṭṭsa. [Tadbh. from Skt. ఇచ్ఛ] n. Inclination, fancy, love. ఇచ్చకము i&&ttod;ṭsakamu. n. Cajolery, wheedling, trickery. ఇచ్చ కాలమారి a rogue, a flatterer. ఇచ్చకుడు iṭṭsakuḍu. n. Flatterer. (A. iv. 48.) ముఖప్రీతిమాటలాడేవాడు. ఇచ్చగించు iṭṭsaginṭsu. v. a. To like, fancy.

(p. 187) ettu ettu. [Tel.] n. 1. Height. ఉన్నతము. 2. Weight: బరువు, తూనిక. The weight of a quarter of a maund, i. e., two viss, or, six pounds and a quarter రెండువీసెలకొలది. (A. v. 96.) A wreath of flowers. పువ్వుటెత్తు, పుష్పసరము. A move at chees చదరంగపుఎత్తు; hence (metaphorically) a contrivance, a trick, ఉపాయము; an effort. ప్రయత్నము. ఎత్తులమారి a clever man. ఎత్తుకట్టు or ఎత్తుచూచు to weigh, to try. ఎత్తుకు ఎత్తు a Roland for an Oliver, one device against another. ఎత్తు ettu adj. (p. 187) ettugaḍa ettu-gaḍa. [Tel.] n. An endeavour, project. A contrivance. A manœuvre, device, trick. యత్నము, ఉపాయము. ఎత్తుగడ చేయు to endeavour.

(p. 199) ēmaru or ఏమరిల్లు ēmaru. [Tel.] v. n. To be off one's guard. To blunder, be deceived. To fall into a trap, or overlook a fact ప్రమాదపడు. ఏమరించు ēmarinṭsu. v. t. To make one forget himself. To ensnare, delude, entrap, as in an ambush. మోసపుచ్చు. ఏమరిక or ఏమరుపాటు ēmarika. n. (p. 208) oḍiyu oḍiyu. [Tel.] v. n. To run. To drip, drop, trickle. రూకలు ఒడిసిపోయినవి the money is all run out or expended. ఒడియు oḍiyu. v. a. To snatch, seize or catch. కొంచెము పైకెగిరిపట్టుకొను. To take. To pull లాగు. ఒడిసిచేపట్టుకొనిరాధనూరడించి he caught Rādha by the hand and pacified her. చెవి ఒడియు to pull one's ears.

(p. 208) oḍupu oḍupu. [Tel.] n. Catching, seizing. 'ఒడుపుదప్పినయట్టి యురగంబుపోలె' (HD. i. 372.) like a snake that has missed seizing what it aimed at. An attempt పూనిక. A trick ఉపాయము. Profit, gain, లాభము. ఒడుపువేయు to use an expedient, to try, to take by trickery, to snatch away, to rob. ఎత్తుకొనిపోవజూచు.

Peculiar, odd, queer, Pretty, curious, Cunning, false, fictitious. కందువమాటలు a quibble: a play upon words. కందువ పద్మము a fairy lily, not a real one. కందువ రాజులు mere pretenders: mock warriors.

(p. 275) kāru kāru. [Tel.] v. n. To flow, run, trickle, distil, drop through. స్రవించు. To fall as sparks of fire రాలు. BD. vi. 253. కారుచు or కార్చు to cause to flow.

To move, or shake. To rub over. ఫుయు. To pour or sprinkle పోయు, వేయు. n. Grace, elegance, charm, loveliness. Harmony in music, శృంగారచేష్ట, శృంగారపుకుదిలిక, ఒయ్యారము, విలాసము, కులుకులాడి a belle, a pretty woman ఒయ్యారకత్తె. కులుకు adj. Fine, pretty, graceful, Harmonious, melodious. సొగసైన.
