(p. 22) agaḍu or అగుడు agadu. [Tel.] n. Ill fame, bad name, clamour, disturbance. నింద, అపవాదము, రచ్చ, రట్టు, అల్లరి. దాన్ని అగుడుపెట్టకు you must not blab of this. అగుడుసేయనటంచు నానబెట్టినగాని.' N. 7. 154. అగడుపడు v. To be blamed; to be confused. నిందపడు, తొట్రుపడు. బెగడువలదనుచుబెట్టిద మగునెవ్వగ నగడుపడుచు నాడుపడుచులే పగవారికి వలదననా పగవారికి నేలయొసగె పద్మజుడనుచున్. Vasu. vi.

(p. 28) accāḷi or అచ్చాళు aṭṭsāḷi. (K) One who lives a single life, an unmarried person. ఒంటిమనిషి, ఏకాంగిగా మండేవాడు, సంసారపు పీకులాటలేనివాడు అచ్చాళుగానుండు or అచ్చాళిగానుండు to be alone, to be quiet, free from perturbation. 'చారుశిలాముఖ్యజలజలోచనల, చేరికాబంధుల చెలులనీక్షణమె, పగరకుజొరరాక బహుదుర్గమార్గ, మగుకోహళమహర్షి యాశ్రమస్థలిని, జేరిచి మనము నిశ్చింతనేతెంచి, యారూఢిబలయుక్తి నచ్చాళిగాగ, అనికిసన్నద్ధులమై యందమవల.' (p. 40) atalamu atalamu. [Skt.] n. One of the fabled subterraneous regions, supposed to be immediately below the earth. భూలోకము కింది లోకము. అతలకుతలము n. Disorder, confusion. disturbance. అల్లరి, గలిబిలి, తారుమారు. అతలకుతలమవు v. n. To be routed, scattered, dispersed. గలిబిలియగు, తారుమారగు, చెదిరిపోవు. అతలకుతలముచేయు to make a bustle or great noise, to cause a tumult or confusion. అతలకుతలముగా adv. In confusion. అల్లరిగా.

(p. 172) uṣṇamu ushṇamu. [Skt.] n. Sunshine, warmth; heat; fever, feverishness. ఉష్ణము adj. Hot. ఉష్ణరశ్మి the sun. ఉష్ణించు ushṇinṭsu. v. n. To be hot. ఉష్ణీషము ushṇīshamu. n. A turban, a diadem. కిరీటము, పాగా.

(p. 255) kalaka kalaka. [Tel. from కలుగు.] n. Turbidity. Trouble, perturbation: foulness: sin: lumbar rheumatism. కంటికలక the disease called country sore eyes, ophthalmia. కలకనీళ్లు turbid water. కలకపారు kalaka-pāru. (కలక+పారు.) v. a. To be confused. కంతపడు. కలకపాటు confusion కలత, కలతపడుట.

(p. 315) kondalamu or కొందలపాటు kondalamu. [Tel.] n. Perturbation, confusion, anxiety. విచారము, కలత, క్షోభము. 'కొందల మొకయింత లేక' M. VIII. ii. 358. కొందలించు or కొందలపడు to be confused. కలతపడు.

(p. 355) gattara gattara. [Tel.] n. Disorder, disturbance, hubbub. గల్లంతు. Danger ఉపద్రవము. A euphemism for Cholera వాంతిభేది. గత్తరకాడు a noisy man. గత్తరపడ్డ gattara-padda. adj. Confused, troubled.

(p. 449) cuṭṭu ṭsuṭṭu. [Tel.] v. a. To go about, to go round. To roll, wrap up, to wind up, to encircle or clasp in an embrace. To hem in, surround, to overtake (as sin does). To draw a circle. To make small ciphers, thus: సున్నచుట్టు, క్రారావడిచుట్టు to write o or ; పాగాచుట్టు to tie a turban. చుట్టుకొను or చుట్టుపారు to surround, hem in, roll up. To turn, to go round. దోవచుట్టుకొని వేళ్లుచున్నది here the road makes a sweep. చుట్టు n. A turn, a round, a circuit, a circumference. A turn or bout: a time. A toe ring, worn by women కాలియుంగరము, తలచుట్టు a turban. గోరుచుట్టు a whitlow. ఎన్నిచుట్లు చెప్పేది how often am I to tell you? చుట్టు adj. & adv. Around, round about, out of the direct way. చుట్టలుగు, చుట్టువాలు or చుట్టుకైదువు ṭsuṭṭ-alugu. (చుట్టు+అలుగు.) n. The Discus of Vishnu చక్రమనే ఆయుధము. R. iii. 42. చుట్టిల్లు a round hut without posts or pillars: చుట్టివచ్చు to go round anything; ప్రదక్షిణముచేయు. To surround పరివేష్టించు. చుట్టుకొల్లారము, చుట్టుకొల్లారు or చుట్టుమాలె ṭsuṭṭu-kollāramu. n. A house built round an open area, with a chamber at each corner and a gallery between. చుట్టుగుల్ల ṭsuṭṭu-gulla. n. A volute shell. గుండ్రని శంఖము. చుట్టుదల ṭsuṭṭu-dala. n. The act of surrounding చుట్టుట. చుట్టుతిరుగు ṭsuṭṭu-tirugu. v. n. To go the rounds, as a patrol. చుట్టుపట్టు ṭsuṭṭu-paṭṭu. n. All sides. Roundabout. చుట్టుపడు ṭsuṭṭu-paḍu. v. n. To fall out of the direct route: to go round. చుట్టుముట్టు ṭsuṭṭu-muṭṭu. v. n. To encamp around, besiege, hem in, surround. Vish P. viii. 64. చుట్టువేదెము ṭsuṭṭu-vēḍemu. n. Telugu books were usually written on palm-leaves connected by a cord running through: and to tear out a leaf or rescind a bond, the top is torn. Hence తలచించిన denotes Rescinded. తలతో నడిచి వస్తున్నాను I will come even though I walk on my head. తలకొవ్విన tala-kovvina. adj. Fat-headed, proud, silly. ఇంతపనిచేస్తే వారిలో ఎట్లు తలయెత్తవచ్చును if he did this how could he shew his face among them? తలతో చెల్లించెను he paid for it with his head, it cost him his life. తలకుఎక్కేపని a perilous undertaking. తలకు ఎక్కినది it got into his head, he is intoxicated. తలకొట్టివేయు to decapitate or behead. తల (for తలను) మోయు to carry on the head. శిరసావహించు. A broad caste-mark worn in the forehead, వెడల్పుగా నుండుబొట్టు.

(p. 727) pallaṭa or పల్లటము pallaṭa. [Tel.] n. Movement. చలనము. Difference, వ్యత్యాసము. Confusion, perturbation, perplexity, agitation. తారుమారు, తల్లడము, దొర్లడము. 'చిటిపొటితేనెవానలకు జేసిన కాల్వల తేటనీటి పల్లటముల నిక్కు నక్కొలకు లచ్చికి వచ్చిరి వచ్చి నెచ్చెలుల్.' Bahulas. ii. 85. పల్లటిల్లు or పల్లటిలు pallaṭillu. v. n. To move, చలించు. To turn pale, తెల్లపోవు. To redden with anger, ఎర్రబారు. To be in convulsion or disorder, to be perplexed, to be agitated. తారుమారగు, తత్తరపడు, చెదురు, తల్లడిల్లు, కొందలమందు, వణకు, అదరు. (p. 733) pāgā or పాగ pāgā. [Tel.] n. A turban. పాగాచుట్టు to tie on or form a turban. Also, a stable. అశ్వశాల. A troop of horses, అశ్వసమూహము. పాగాలు Same as పావకోళ్లు (q. v.) పాగాగుర్రము pāgā-gurramu. n. A livery horse, stalled horse.
