(p. 33) aḍa aḍa. [Tel.] n. A lump, clot, mass (as of dates, sugar, hair, &c.) ముద్ద, చింతపండడలు lumps of tamarind. అడకట్టు or అడగొను to become clotted. ముద్దకట్టుకొను. తల అడలుకట్టినది the hair became matted, all the tresses are matted together. అడచేయు aḍa-chēyu. [Tel.] v. To knead and make into lump.

(p. 40) atirasamu ati-rasamu. [Skt.] n. A sweet cake made of rice meal and sugar fried in ghee. పాకముపట్టిన బెల్లము పిండి కలిపి నేతిలో పక్వము చేసిన భక్ష్యవిశేషము, అరిసెలు.

(p. 43) adaru or అదురు adaru. [Tel.] v. n. To tremble, shake, quake, shiver. To dread. కంపించు, భయపడు, భూమి అదురుచున్నది the earth trembles. దాన్ని చూడగానే వాని గుండెలు అదిరినవి his heart quivered to see this. కుడి కన్ను అదురుచున్నది my right eye tingles. వాడు వట-టి అదురుగుండె he is a coward. అడరు or అడురు n. Concussion, shaking, tremour, trembling, fear, కంపనము, చలనము, కొట్టుకొనడము, భయము. భూమి అదురు a tremour or convulsion of the earth. వానికి తండ్రి వద్ద కొంచెము అదురు ఉండవలెను he ought to fear his father. అదరుగడ or అదురుగడ adarugaḍa. [Tel.] n. Daunting, fright. బెదురు. అదరిపడు or అదిరిపడు adari-paḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To caper about, to curvet. ఉలికిపడు. to be arrogant. అదరిపాటు n. Pride. అదరిపాటున. adv. Suddenly, unexpectedly. ఏమరిపాటున, 'అదరిపాటున వారాళియుదుటు చూచి.' N. i. 126.

(p. 54) anugatamu anu-gatamu. [Skt.] adj. Followed, united to. Determined, defined. పొందబడిన, అధీనమైన, వేంబడింపబడిన, నియతమైన. T. iv. 147. అనుగతి anu-gati. [Skt.] n. Going after, following. వెంబడించి పోవడము. 'వశానుగతి.' A. ii. 28.

(p. 54) anugamiñcu anu-gaminṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To accompany or follow. వెంబడించు. అనుగమనము anu-gamanamu. n. Going after, following. కూడాపోవడము, సహగమనము.

(p. 1397) anugalamu anugalamu. [from Skt. అనుకూలమ్.] adj. Convenient. అనుకూలమైన. Equal, సమానము.

(p. 73) amaṇḍāramuga a-mandāramu-ga. [Skt.] adv. Abundantly, greatly, plentifully విస్తారముగా. 'మందారమహిజమ మందారమున నిచ్చు కనకాంబరంబులు కటుంగట్టి.' N. ii. 425.

(p. 81) arundhati arundhati. [Skt.] n. The wife of the sage Vasishtha, celebrated for her virtue వసిష్ఠుని భార్య. A star in the Pleiades. A marriage ceremonies అరుంధతి is invoked by the bridegroom as a pattern of conjugal excellence and the star in the Pleiades which represents the wife of Vasishtha is pointed out to the bridal pair.

The sea of sugar. ఇక్షుసముద్రము. ఇంచుబోడి or బోణి inṭsu-bōḍi. n. A beauty, a lady. ఇంచుమాను inṭsu-mānu. n. The sugar-cane. ఇంచువిల్తుడు inṭsu-viltuḍu. n. The Indian Cupid whose 'bow is made of the sugar-cane.'
