(p. 45) advandvuḍu a-dvandvuḍu. [Skt.] n. A philosopher, i.e., he who despises the pairs of opposites, such as heat and cold, good and evil, pleasure and pain, &c. నిస్సంగుడు. 'అందుండున్ ద్వయసద్మ పద్మవదనుండద్వంద్వుడ శ్రాంతయోగాంధూబద్ధ మధుర్విషద్విరదుడ న్వర్థాభిధానుండు.' A. i. 77.

(p. 66) apratidvandvuḍu a-prati-dvandvuḍu. [Skt.] n. He who is incomparable or matchless in battle. అసమానుడైనవాడు.

(p. 71) abhivandanamu abhi-vandanamu. [Skt.] n. Sanitation, prostration. నమస్కారము,దండము, మ్రొక్కు. అభివాదనము abhivādanamu. [Skt.] n. Salutation, prostration, reverence. ప్రణామము, నమస్కారము గోత్ర నామములు చెప్పి పాదములు తాకునట్లు , అభివాదకుడు one who salutes by falling at one's feet.

(p. 409) cindara chindara. [Tel.] n. Ruin, breaking. A fragment, bit, shattered piece. Dilapidation, ugliness, disagreeableness. 'చెవులు చిందరచేసెఝిల్లికానినదంబు' the crickets chirped with earsplitting shrillness. HD. i. 1745. చిందర adj. Ugly, disagreeable, ruinous. చిందరవందర chindara-vandara. adv. (anuk) Piece-meal; here and there; in pieces, in shatters. Anir. iii. 92. చిందరవందరచేయు or చిందర చేయు chindara-vandara-chēyu. v. n. To shatter or shiver. To hack, to cut to pieces, to spoil. చిందరవందరలుగా adv. tossed: at random, in confusion: recklessly, dishevelled, flying loose as hair. చిందరపోవు to spring a leak తూటుపోవు. చిందరగొను to be enraged or furious. విజృంభించు. చిందరరేగు to be infused with ఆవేశమెత్తు.

(p. 410) cindu chindu. [Tel.] v. n. To be spilt, shed or distilled. To spread వ్యాపించు. వెన్నెలల్ చిందెడునవ్వు a smile that was pleasant like moonlight. v. a. To spend, to lay out. వ్యయముచేయు. n. A dance, hop, jig. చిందాడు or చిందులుతొక్కు to dance, or tread a measure. చిందుపరువు a dance. A drop, చుక్క. చిందుగా recklessly, wildly, sorrowfully. చిందుగాచేయు to pester, plague, annoy. చిందుగుప్ప chindu-guppa. n. A sort of wolf. చిందువందు chindu-vandu. adj. Scattered చెదిరిన. adv. Recklessly, sportively, prodigally. చిందువందు చేయు to scatter. చెదరగొట్టు. to make sport of. చిందువందుగా చేయు to make sport of.

(p. 584) daśamu daṣamu. [Skt.] n. Ten. పది. దశకము daṣakamu. n. A word for Ten: as we say a dozen for twelve. దశకంఠుడు daṣa-kanthuḍu. n. The 'ten throated' demon, i.e., Rāvaṇa. Proverbially, a hydra, devil, or monster. దశమము dasamamu. adj. The tenth part (of a book, &c.) దశమి daṣami. n. The tenth lunar day reckoned from new or full moon. పదోతిథి. దశరథుడు daṣa-radhudu. n. The name of the father of Rāma. దశాస్యుడు daṣ-āsyuḍu. n. The 'ten faced' demon, i.e., Rāvaṇa. A hydra or devil. దశాహము dasāhamu. n. The ceremony performed on the tenth day after a death. పదోనాటిశ్రాద్ధము. దశవంధము or దశబంధము daṣa-vandhamu. n. An Inam, or copy-hold, taxed at one tenṭh of the produce. An inam granted to one who constructs a tank.

(p. 617) dvandvamu dvandvamu. [Skt.] n. A pair or couple. రెండు. The name of a certain kind of compound word (సమూహము) in which two nouns if uncompounded would be in the same case and united by a conjunction. Thus, రామలక్ష్మణులు. Rama and Lakshmana. ద్వంద్వయుద్ధము. A duel.

To honour, salute, bow to. వందనమాల vandana-māla. n. A garland hung over a gate or carved in stone trellis. ద్వారమందు కట్టినతోరణము. వందారువు or వందారుడు vandāruvu. n. One who salutes or pays homage. నమస్కారము చేయువాడు. వంది vandi. n. A herald, bard, panegyrist. ప్రాతఃకాలమందు రాజులను మేలుకొలిపేవాడు, స్తుతిచేసి జీవించువాడు, బట్టువాడు. వందించు vandinṭsu. v. a. To praise, స్తుతించు. వందితుడు vandintuḍu. n. One who is praised or saluted, స్తుతింపబడినవాడు, నమస్కరింపబడినవాడు. వంద్యము vandyamu. adj. Honourable, venerable, worthy or regard Lauded or laudable. కొనియాడదగిన, పూజ్యమైన. 'సకలలోకైకవంద్యంబు సకలసుజన, చిత్తరంజనకారణంబుత్తమంబు.' Vish. i. 31. వంద్యుడు vandyuḍu. n. One who is worthy to be praised. పూజ్యుడు లోకవంద్యుడు fit to be praised or extolled by the whole world.

(p. 1118) vandara vandara. [Tel.] n. A piece, fragment, bit. తునక. Also, a favourable lease or rent. వందరభూమి land unfit for cultivation. వందరలాడు vandaral-āḍu. v. a. To mangle. ఛిన్నాభిన్నముచేయు. To cut, sever, ఖండించు. 'క యక్షులు కులిశనిశాతసఖా, వళిబక్షీంద్రుడు వ్రచ్చివందరలాడెన్' M. I. ii. 100.

(p. 1119) vandu vandu. [Tel.] v. n. To grieve, sorrow, be afflicted. దుఃఖపడు, విచారపడు, సంతాపించు. 'యుక్తకార్యయత్నము ఫలియించునొక్క యెడదక్కగజేయగవందనేటికిన్.' BRK. 715. వందురు vanduru. v. n. To grieve, to be vexed or sorrowful. దుఃఖపడు, విచారపడు. 'నారలుగట్టి కూరలశనంబుగ నుగ్రవనంబులోని పద్భారమునొందివందురినఫల్గును నుజ్వలరాజ్యవైభవోదారులమైకనుంగొని.' M. III. v. 373.
