(p. 296) kuyi or కుయ్యి kuyi [Tel. from కూయు.] n. A cry, yell, vociferation, loud entreaty, or prayer: an exclamation like 'alas'. మొర. Protection రక్షణము. కయ్యోమొర్రో kuyyō-morrō interj. Alas! a cry of fright, wailing. కయ్యక. kuyyaka. adv. Without crying, silently.

(p. 369) gī gī. [Tel.] n. (Anuk. of crying or wailing or buzzing) గీపెట్టు to whimper, to buzz.

(p. 394) gōla gōlā. [Tel.] n. A moan, a howl, a wailing sound; the sound of weeping; ఆలగోలబాలగోల a general howl. కాకిగోల a dismal lament, such as crows utter over a wounded crow. గోలపెట్టు to complain. గోలయెత్తు to raise the voice, wail, cry, howl. గోల n. Simplicity, inexperience. A simpleton, one who is ignorant and innocent. ముగ్ధుడు A simple girl ముగ్ధ. గోలతనము simplicity, silliness. గోలక్రోతులు gōla-krōtulu. n. A game played by boys. P. vii. 211.

(p. 607) dēvu dēvu. [Tel.] v. a. To rinse. To take rice, &c. out of water with the hand. To grope for, as with a drage under water, to trample on so as to destroy, as salt. నీళ్లలోనుండి తడవియెత్తు, వెదకు. v. n. To turn, as the stomach when queasy. నా కడుపు దేవుచున్నది I am sickish; my stomach turns. దేవుకొను dēvu-konu. v. t. To scrape together. To root up, turn up. To plunder, rifle. 'పదార్థంబులు దేవుకొని వచ్చి.' BD. v. 696. దేవురించు dēvurinṭsu. v. a. To sue, intreat, plague or beset with petitions, to beg eagerly, to importune. దీనవృత్తిని యాచించు, దైన్యమునొందు. దేవురుగొట్టు dēvuru-goṭṭu. n. A sneak, one who sues for favour, a mean beggar. దేబె, దీనుడు. దేవురింపు or దేవురు dēvu-rimpu. n. Begging with importunity. Lamentation, bewailing, complaining, ఏడ్పు, మొర. దేవులాడు dēvul-āḍu. v. n. To dive in water, to search in water. To roam about, to be in trouble, to pine or struggle. దేవులాడి సాధిస్తిని I managed to effect it with a great effort.

(p. 837) pralāpamu pra-lāpamu. [Skt.] n. Unmeanning or incoherent speech, prattle, mere ejaculation. విలాపము, పలవరము, పలవరింత, అర్థములేనిమాట, అక్కరలేనిమాట. Lamentation, wailing. ప్రలాపించు pra-lāpinṭsu. v. n. To use broken words or exclamations. విలపించు, పలవరించు. To lament, wail.

A blow, దెబ్బ. మొత్తించు to cause to beat, కొట్టించు. మొత్తులాడు mottu-l-āḍu. v. n. To fight, dispute or quarrel. కొట్లాడు. 'పుణ్యాహతండులములకు మొత్తులాడి.' A. vi. 91. మొత్తుపడు mottu-paḍu. v. n. To be beaten, కొట్టుపడు, కొట్టబడు. మొత్తికొను or మొత్తుకొను motti-konu. v. n. To beat one's own head or mouth in despair. To lament or wail. అక్కడికి పోవద్దని మొత్తుకొంటిని I entreated him not to go there. 'అసురుసురనుచు నడునెత్తి మొత్తుకొనుచు.' Jagann. ii. 63. మొత్తుకోళ్లు mottu-kōḷḷu. n. Lamentations, howling, outcries, wailing. ఏడ్పు, పెడబొబ్బలు.

(p. 1042) morra or మొర morra. [Tel.] n. A cry, scream, outcry, wailing, lamentation, complaint. ఆర్తనాదము. 'ధరణీశతగదనుచు తామొర్రలిడగ.' BD. iv. 1961. దొంగలువచ్చిపడగానే కుయ్యోమొర్రో అని అరిచినారు on being attacked by the thieves they screamed out. మొర్రోయనియేడ్చు to howl, cry, vociferate. నేను మొర్రోవద్దని చెప్పితిని I cried 'Alas! do not do this.

(p. 1090) rōdanamu rōdanamu. [Skt.] n. Weeping, wailing, lamentation, ఏడ్పు, ఏడవడము. రోదించు rōdinṭsu. v. n. To cry loud, రొదనముచేయు.

(p. 1145) vā vā. [Tel. Short for వాయి.] n. The mouth, the face. నోరు. 'నగముదుమ్మున బూడి చిగిరింతనామూయబెరిగిన నూతిపాతరబొరియల.' A. vi. 12. టీ నామూయ పెరిగినచిగిరింత, గడ్డిముఖమెల్లా మూయబెరిగిన. Wrangling, వాగ్వాదము. వాచచ్చిననాడు a dumb animal, i.e., a mere fool. నాచెరుచు vā-cheruṭsu. v. a. To spoil the taste of the mouth. వాచరచు vā-ṭsaraṭsu. v. a. Lit: to beat the mouth. To beg alms. (Indian beggars or complainants often slap their open mouth with the open hand in wailing to attract attention.) దీనవృత్తిని యాచించు, నోటిమీదమొత్తుకొను. v. n. To cry. మొరపెట్టు. 'నాత్రోవకడ్డంబు నిలిచివా చరువకనిలునిలుండనుచు.' BD. v. 1050. వాచరువక, మొత్తుకోకుండా. వాచవి vā-ṭsavi. n. Taste or flavour to the mouth. నోటి రుచి. 'భూవరకుమారునకు వాచవిగాసిద్ధవరుడు ద్రావించి.' Sār. D. 556. వాతెర vā-tera. (వా+తెర.) n. The lower lip; lit. the screen of the mouth. పెదవి, అధరోష్ఠము వాపాఠము vā-pāṭhamu. n. Recitation, repeating verses by rote. ముఖస్థముగా నుండడము. 'భరతశాస్త్రంబు వాపాఠంబు వీణె పరిపరివిధముల పలికింపజేర్చు.' నాపుచ్చు vā-puṭsṭsu. v. a. To open the mouth. నోరుతెరచు. To say or tell, చెప్పు. వాపోవు vā-pōvu. v. n. To cry out, to chatter or babble.
