(p. 98) aśarīravāṇi a-ṣarīra-vāṇi. [Skt.] The speech of an invisible being, a voice from heaven. ఆకాశవాక్కు. అశరీరి a-ṣarīri. n. A spirit, an incorporeal being. దేహము లేనివాడు. 'తనకునబ్బాలుచే చావుగలదని యశరీరి చేవిని' (Vish. viii. 78.) being warned by a voice from heaven that this child should cause his death.

(p. 183) eccariñcu or ఎచ్చరికించు eṭṭsarinṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To warn, challenge, hail, call to. To hint, allude to, advert to. To invoke. remind, or implore. To rally troops. ఎచ్చరికచేయు. చరిర or ఎచ్చరము or ఎచ్చరింత eṭṭsarika. n. Hint, caution, warning, challenge, reminder. సూచన. ఎచ్చరికచేయు to caution or warn. ఎచ్చరికతప్పు to be off one's guard. ఎచ్చరికపడు to be on the alert, to be forewarned.

(p. 446) cāṭu ṭsāṭu. [Tel.] n. A shelter, or covering, a screen, or shade, a nook, any thing concealing another or preventing its being seen. మరుగు. తల్లిచాటున in her mother's charge. నేను చాటుగా నిలిస్తిని I stood behind. చాటుచేయు to use as a screen. చెట్టుచాటున behind the tree. చాటుననుండే hidden, screened, unknown. పెట్టె చాటున దొరికినది I found it behind the box. ఆ కొండ చాటు అయినది that hill intercepts the view. చాటుగానుంచు to keep hidden. చాటు. v. a. To proclaim, publish. To warn, threaten, declare. To confess, betray, evince ప్రసిద్ధిచేయు, విశదపరుచు. చాటించు ṭsāṭinṭsu. v. a. To proclaim, to publish, advertise, notify, make known, declare, warn, threaten, foretell, denounce. చాటింపు ṭsāṭimpu. n. Proclamation, advertisement. చాటుపడు ṭsāṭu-paḍu. v. n. To be hidden from view మరుగుపడు. చాటున ṭsāṭuva. n. Proclamation చాటించుట. Comparison, పోలిక, దృష్టాంతము. చాటుమాటుమనిషి a suspicious character, a skulker.

(p. 596) dī, ḍī, dīku or డీకు dī. [Tel.] n. Striking the heads together as rams do. Butting. దీకొను or డీకొను dī-konu. v. a. To oppose. మార్కొను, ఎదిరించు. v. n. To arouse, to rouse or bestir oneself, to prepare. R. v. 145. దీకొలుపు or డీకొలుపు dī-kolupu. v. a. To arouse, warn, excite. దీకోలు Same as డీకొనుట.

(p. 714) parāku parāku. [Tel.] n. Oversight, error. Carelessness, forgetfullness. ప్రమాదము, పరధ్యానము. పరాకువ unawares, by error. పరాకుచెప్పు to warn, call attention to. (Interj.) Take heed! Take care. Also used as a conversational phrase like I beg your pardon! please listen to me!' హెచ్చరిక, పరాకుడు [Skt.] a cunning man, కుత్సితుడు. పరాకుపడు parāku-paḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To forget, be off one's guard. ప్రమాదపడు, భ్రమపడు, పరాకునుందు.

(p. 834) prabuddhuḍu pra-buddhuḍu. [Skt.] n. One who is awake, మేలుకొన్నవాడు. A man who has become acquainted with reality; an enlightened man, a wise man. A clever man. ప్రబుద్ధులు the wise. ప్రబోధము pra-bōdhamu. n. Wisdon, Intellect, understanding. మిక్కిలి తెలివి. జ్ఞానము. Caution, vigilance, wakefulness, మేలుకొనుట. ప్రబోధించు pra-bōdhinṭsu. v. a. To teach clearly, చక్కచగా తెలుపు. To wake up, మేలుకొలుపు. ప్రబోధిక pra-bōdhika. adj. That which rouses or warns. లేపునది, జ్ఞానమును కలుగజేయునది. గురుబాలప్రబోధిక the name of a certain Telugu commentary on the Amara Kosha.

(p. 864) baḍi or బరి baḍi. [Drav. √ పడు = to read. Cf. Tam. పడి. Skt. పఠించు is cognate with it.] n. A school. పాఠశాల, పల్లెకూటము. Order, క్రమము. Firmness, దిట్టము. బడికోలు baḍi-kōlu. n. Resemblance, an example. చాలు, పోలిక. A. v. 139. బడిచేయు baḍi-chēyu. v. a. To warn one to be mindful of any thing, దిట్టముచేయు. బడిపెట్టుకొను baḍi-peṭṭu-konu. v. n. To open or start a school. బడివేళ అయినది the school time is up. బడికలిసిపోయినది or బడిముగిసినది the school is over. బడిఎత్తివేయు to abolish a school. బడితపాఠము baḍi-pedda. n. A class leader, monitor. బడిఎత్తిపాతము baḍita-pāṭhamu. n. A lesson that has been read, an old lesson, చదివినపాఠము. 'ద్వి ............... ఒ౛్జలకు బడితపాఠము దొంగపదరులన్నియు.' హరిశ్చ. ii.

(p. 937) mandaliñcu manda-linṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To tell, చెప్పు. To suggest, warn, allege, mention, remonstrate. ఎచ్చరించు, మనవిచేయు. To command, order, అజ్ఞాపించు. To think, తలచు. To pacify. 'తే ఇంతయలుకకు కారణంబిదియటంచు, మందలింపుము నాయానమందయాన.' Ila. iv. 65. మందలింపు mandalimpu. n. Business, వ్యవహారము. A suggestion, remonstrance.

(p. 1028) mēḍi mēḍi. [Tel.] n. A plough staff, or plough tail. నాగటిదుంప వెనుక నిలిపినకొయ్య. మేడితలకిందుగాపాతు or పాతిపెట్టు to bury a plough staff upside down as a signal (దురాయి) to warn people that the land is under ban. మేడికర్ర mēḍi-karra. n. The pole or shaft of a plough. మేడికోరు or మేడిపాలు the farmer's share of the crop. మేడితాడు mēḍi-tāḍu. n. The plough bands. మేడితోక or మేడిసోగ mēḍi-tōka. n. The plough tail. మేడిసీల or మేడిచీల the nail or pin which fastens the plough to the handle.

(p. 1156) vāriñcu vārinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To do away, drive away, warn off or ward off, avert. To guard, defend, prevent, clude, or oppose. To dissuade, forbid. నివారించు, అడ్డగించు, ప్రతిషేధించు. 'దమయంతిని వేశంబు ప్రవేశించునప్పుడు నిన్నెవ్వరువారింపనోపరనిన.' M. III. ii. 38.

(p. 1392) heccu or ఎచ్చు heṭsṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To increase, grow, multiply, ఆధిక్యము. 'అరవిందములగచ్చలడగించు జిగిహెచ్చు.' Swa. vi. 107. హెచ్చరించు or ఎచ్చరించు heṭstsar-inṭsu. v. a. To encourage, hint at, allude to, advert to, call to memory, warn, సూచనచేయు. హెచ్చరిక or ఎచ్చరిక heṭsṭsar-ika. n. A hint, intimation, precuation, warning, arousing, encouragement. సూచన, జాగ్రత్త. Joy, సంతోషము. 'కుబేరశంకరుల్ సరసనుగొల్వ మ్రొక్కులిడ స్వామి పరాకవధారుదేవ, హెచ్చరికయటంచు కంచుకులు.' N. i. 177. హెచ్చరిల్లు or ఎచ్చరిలు heṭsṭsar-illu. v. n. To increase, grow, improve. అభిపృద్ధినొందు To be encouraged, to beware, to be on the alert. ఎచ్చరిక కలిగియుండు. 'ఏ యుపాయంబు చేసైన సెచ్చరిలగనీక రాక్షసకులము రమేశ్వరుండు తునుముననుశంక.' KP. vi. 26. హెచ్చించు hechch-inṭsu. v. a. To increase, augment, multiply, అధికముచేయు. హెచ్చిల్లు, హెచ్చిలు or ఎచ్చిలు hechch-illu. v. n. To augment, increase, multiply, అధికమగు. హెచ్చు, హెచ్చిన or ఎచ్చిన heṭsṭsu. adj. Exceeding, much, more, excessive, great, superior. అధికమైన, వెలపొడుగైన.' హెచ్చినమైత్రి.' A. iv. 187. నన్ను హెచ్చుతక్కువలుగా మాట్లాడినాడు he reviled me. హెచ్చుతగ్గులుగానుండే భూమి uneven ground, land that is up and down. హెచ్చుగ or హెచ్చుగా heṭsṭsu-ga. adv. Much, more, greatly. అధికముగా. 'వజ్రముల్ పగడాలు తూములన్ హెచ్చుగగొల్తు రెప్పుడు.' T. ii. 19.
