(p. 57) anumānamu anu-mānamu. [Skt.] n, Surmise, conjecture, suspicion, doubt. In logic, inference. సందేహము, యుక్తి చేత నిర్ణయించడము. వాని మీద అనుమానము తోచినది, వాని మీద అనుమానమున్నది I suspect him. అనుమానఖండము Induction (logic.) అనుమానించు or అనుమానపడు anu-māninṭsu. [Skt.] v. n. To doubt, hesitate, suspect. సందేహపడు.

(p. 57) anumēyamu anu-mēyamu. [Skt.] adj. Inferable. ఊహింపదగినది. See అనుమానము.

(p. 78) arakora or అరగొర arakora. [Tel.] Sticking. అనుమానము, సందేహము. 'కరకంఠభక్తుల కరకొరలేక వెరబిబ్రతుకు పొమ్మువేయును నేల.' BD. v. 327. 'తానున్ బతియున్ మనమున నరగొరయెరుగక.' Parij. v. 74.

(p. 78) aragali aragali. [Tel. from అర+కలిమి] n. Hesitation, doubt సందేహము, అనుమానము అరగలిగొను aragaligonu. [Tel.] v. n. To hesitate, doubt. సందేహించు,అనుమానించు. 'బావవేడినజాలుబసవయ్య యిప్పు, డావస్త్రమొసగెడు నరగలిగొనడు.' BD. iii. 93.

(p. 564) tōcu tōṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To arise. పుట్టు. To occur to the mind, to seem, appear. To appear, as the sun; to become visible, ప్రత్యక్షమగు నాకు. తోచుచున్నది I think, conjecture, conceive, fancy, imagine, suppose, intend. నీకు అట్లు తోచెనా if you think fit, if you please, if it seems good to you. నాకు ఏమి తోచలేదు I knew not what to think. నాకు అనుమానము తోచినది I suspected. నాకు అర్థము తోచలేదు I do not perceive the meaning. అద్దములో తోచు ముడుపువలె like purse reflected in a glass. వానికి భయము తోచినది he was afraid.

(p. 835) pramāṇamu pra-māṇamu. [Skt.] n. Measure, scale; standard; limit; quantity, size, bulk, extent, అంగుళీమానము, జేన, మూఠ, గజము మొదలైనవి. Proof, testimony, authority. A cause, reason, motive. ప్రత్యక్షాది జ్ఞానకారణము, హేతువు. Truth. An oath, adjuration. సత్యము. ప్రమాణముచేయు to make an oath, to take an oath, to swear. ప్రమాణముచేయించు to administer an oath. వేదము శబ్దప్రమాణముగానున్నది the Veda is the standard of revealed truth. శాస్త్ర ప్రత్యక్షాది ప్రమాణములు the methods of Reasoning or Inference. These are: ప్రత్యక్షము actual perception, అనుమానము inference, ఉపమానము analogy, శాబ్దము authority or revelation, ఐతిహ్యము tradition. ప్రమాణీకరించు pramāṇī-karinṭsu. v. a. To consider as true. సత్యముగానెంచు. ప్రమాణీకము pramāṇīkamu. n. Fidelity, faithfulness.
