(p. 670) nuccu nuṭsṭsu. [Tel.] n. The dung of sheep or goats, మేకలగొర్రెల పేడ. Goat hair, మేక వెంట్రుకలు. నుచ్చుపాతలు nuṭsṭsu-pātalu. n. 'Dug ties;' bits of cloth with which the teats of sheep or goats are tied. మేకలగొర్రెల చండ్లకట్టేగుడ్డలు. Pal. 361. నుచ్చు nuṭsṭsu. v. a. To tie a cloth round the teats of goats. To weave, as a cloth, అల్లు మంచమునేయు to lace a bed. గడ్డినేయు to lay thatch on a roof. ఇంటికి ఆ గడ్డి నేయించను he thatched his house with that grass. గడ్డినేసిన thatched. నేయించు nēyinṭsu. v. a. To cause to be woven. అతనిచేత రెండుగుడ్డలు నేయించినాను. I made him weave two cloths. నేత nēta. n. Weaving, texture. నేయుట. నేతలు fine long cloth, సన్నబారచావులు. కవిక. iii. నేతకాడు or నేతరి nēta-kāḍu. n. A weaver. నేతపలక nēta-palaka. n. A plank or board every now and then used by a weaver in arranging the wrap and the woof evenly. నేతపురుగు nētapurugu. n. A spider. 'పురహరునకు నేత పురుగులు పూజచేసి స్థిరమైన సుజ్ఙానజీవమాయె.' (p. 774) pulumu or పులుముకొను pulumu. [Tel.] v. n. and a. To scour or rub, in washing or bathing. రుద్దు, నలుపు. To beat, కొట్టు. కండ్లుపులుముకొనుచు లేచినాడు he waked up rubbing his eyes. తలపులుముకొను to rub the head in bathing. గుడ్డలువులుముకొను to wash clothes. వాణ్ని బాగా పులిమినారు they thrashed him well. పులుముడు palumuḍu. n. Rubbing, రుద్దడము. పులిమిపుచ్చు pulimi-puṭsṭsu. v. a. To evade, అడిగినదానికి ఉత్తరము చెప్పకుండా మాయచేయు. 'నందుడదేమన్న నవ్వుచు మీకేలపొమ్మంచునొకవేళ పులిమిపుచ్చు.' N. ix. 344.

(p. 807) potti potti. [Tel.] n. A thin soft, old cloth, మెత్తని సన్నని పాత వస్త్రము. An integument, coat; skin, bark. నార, పట్ట. కొబ్బరిగల మొదలైనవారిని పొదిగియుండేది. Also, a torch, దివిటీ. పోకపొత్తి the coat or skin covering the upper part of an areca tree. అరిటిపొత్తి the coat or skin on a plantain tree. పొడుముపొత్తి a snuff box, (literally, a piece of bark folded to contain snuff.) పొత్తి or పొత్తిగుడ్డ baby linen. పొత్తినూలు fibres used in garments made of bark. M. XII. vi. 221. పొత్తిపంచ bombasine cloth, woven of silk mixed with cotton. పొత్తిక pottika. n. Same as పొత్తి. Doll's clothes, a gaudy dress for an idol or for a little girl. 'బొమ్మపొత్తికలడిగితికొమ్మ యిందమనుచునిచ్చె తాదెచ్చిన యుంబరములు.' M. IV. v. 308. పొత్తికడుపు potti-kaḍupu. n. The abdomen, or belly below the navel. వస్తి, క్రీగడుపు. పొత్తిగడ్డ potti-gaḍḍa. n. A certain medicinal root called కరికారి, విశల్య, పొత్తిదుంప. పొత్తిచీర potti-chīra. n. Cloth made from the fibres of the bark of certain trees. నారచీర. పొత్తితామర potti-tāmara. n. A species of the lotus flower which does not open wide, ముడుగుతామర, నమస్కారి. పొత్తినూలు potti-nūlu. n. Silk thread. పొత్తినూలికాయ or పొత్తినూలిగూడు potti-nūli-kāya. n. A cocoon. పొత్తిలి pottili. n. Baby linen. పొత్తిగుడ్డలు. 'లీలబొత్తిలిమీద లేచి కుర్చుండుచో తద్దయునొక క్రొత్తముద్దుచెలువు.' KP. vi. 207. పొత్తిలి సొర or నల్లదిండి pottili-sora. n. A kind of gourd, Rhynchobatus ancylostomus.

(p. 809) podugu or పొదువు podugu. [Tel.] v. a. To cover: to envelope, to surround, to encircle. కప్పు, ఆవరించు. To embrace, To set, as precious stones. చెక్కు. To sit on eggs. కెంపులుపొదిగిననగ a jewel set with rubies. పొదుగుడు or పొదువుడు poduguḍu. n. The act of covering, కప్పుట, కప్పుట. పొదుగుడుకోళ్లు brood hens, hens that are hatching. పిల్లలుచేయుటకు గుడ్లమీదనుండేకోళ్లు. పొదిగొను, పొదిగికొను or పొదివికొను podi-gonu. v. a. To surround, to encircle, చుట్టుకొను. పరివేష్టించు. పొదుగు n. Baby-linen. పొత్తిగుడ్డలు. 'మెత్తగా బొదుగలరించి కొమారు నుంచి రాధా దులటన్.' G. iii. 40. బొదుగలరించి, అనగా పొత్తిగుడ్డలు పరచి.

(p. 955) mayila , మైల or మకీల mayila. [Tel.] n. Dirt, foulness, uncleanness, actual or ceremonial impurity, dirty clothes. మురికి. అశుచి, కట్టివిడిచిన గుడ్డలు. చాకలవాడు ఇంకా మయిల యెత్తుకొనిపోలేదు the washerman has not yet taken away the dirty clothes. వారియింట్లో మయిలవచ్చినది their house has been defiled. adj. Dirty, foul, unclean, impure. మురికిగానుండే, అశుచియైన.

A needle. గుడ్డలుకుట్టుసాధనము. గరికసూదులు a kind of rice. సూదికొమ్ములు slender or sharp horns. సూదివలె వచ్చి దబ్బనమువలెతేలు to enter like a small needle and come out a packing needle. సూదిమల్లిక or సూదిమల్లె sūdi-mallika. n. The eared jasmine, Jasminum auriculatum. సూదులవలె సన్నగానుండే మల్లెలు. సూదంటురాయి, సూదిరాయి or అంటురాయి sūd-anṭu-rāyi. n. A magnet, a lodestone. కాంతరాయి, అయస్కాంతము.
