(p. 70) abhimukhamu abhi-mukhamu. [Skt.] adj. Fronting, facing, having the face towards. (fig.) Propitious, favourable. Allayed or subdued as disease or anger. సమ్ముఖమైన మార్యాభిముఖముగా facing the sun. నాకు అభిముఖముగా తిరుగు turn your face to me. అభిముఖమగు v. n. To face, turn towards, ఎదురుముఖముగా తిరుగు, దోవకువచ్చు, శాంతపడు. జ్వరము అభిముఖమైనప్పుడు when the fever was on the turn. అభిముఖుడు n. He who faces. సమ్ముఖుడు. మాకు అభిముఖుడై turning towards us. పర్వతాభిముఖుడై పలికెన్. he turned his face towards the mountain and said. BD. iii. 1855.

(p. 206) okaṭi okaṭi. [Tel.] n. and adj. One. ఇందువల్ల ఒకటి వచ్చును from this one thing may result. ఇందులో ఒకటిన్ని తక్కువ లేదు there is not a single thing wanting. ఎవ్వరియింట్లోనైనా ఒకటే it is no matter in whose house (he) is. నేను చెప్పినది ఒకటి వాడు చేసినది ఒకటి I told him one thing and he did another. ఒకటి వెనుక ఒకటి one after another. దోవకు రెండు పక్కలను అడవి ఒకటే గాని దారి మంచిదే there is nothing but jungle on both sides, but the way is good. ఒకటిగా okaṭi-gā. adv. Together, unitedly, unanimously, conjointly. ఒకటిచేయు okaṭi-chēyu. v. a. To make one, unite, mix. ఒకటియగు okaṭi-y-agu. v. n. To be combined. ఒకట okaṭa. On or in one. At one time ఏకకాలమునందు. ఒకటొకటిగా okaṭ-okaṭi-gā. adv. Separately, one by one, one after another. ఒకటో okaṭō. adj. First. ఒకటోసాక్షి the first witness.

(p. 231) kaṭṭu kaṭṭu. [Tel.] v. a. To tie, bind. బంధించు. To wear, as clothes. ధరించు. To connect, affix, attach. To store up, to lay by. కూడబెట్టు. 'క మున్ కట్టిన కర్మఫలంబులు నెట్టన భోగింపకుండ నేర్తురెపమనుజుల్.' భార. అది. v. To build, erect, నిర్మించు. To fascinate, charm, bewitch. To fabricate, compose, or put a story together. కల్పించు. కట్టుకథ a mere fiction or fable. To impute a sin or offence. దానికి రంకుకట్టిరి they charged her with adultery. తప్పుకట్టు to find fault with, to lay blame on నేరము మోపు. నడుముకట్టు to gird up the loins or be prepared. కనుకట్టువిద్య jugglery, legerdemain. తోటకు నీళ్లుకట్టు to water a garden. గాయముకట్టు to dress a wound. బండికట్టు to get ready a carriage. కత్తికట్టు to put on one's sword or arm oneself. రూకలుకట్టు to pay money. మగ్గములకు పన్ను కట్టినారు they fixed a tax on looms. నిలువకట్టు to strike a balance. ధరకట్టు to set a price. పద్యముకట్టు to compose a verse. ఓడకు చాపకట్టు to set sail. వాకట్టు strike dumb by spells, &c. ఈ మాటను కట్టివిడిచినారు they fabricated this story or scandal. దోవకట్టు to stop up the road. దోవకట్టి దోచినారు they lay in ambuscade and plundered the way farers. కడుపుకట్టు to restrain the appetite. కట్టని (neg. p) Unbuilt or unbound. కట్టని కల్లుకోట a rock fortress not built with hands. కట్టనిగూడు (P. i. 545.) a natural nest, not constructed.

(p. 547) teccu teṭsṭsu. [Tel. √ తె to bring to give.] v. a. To get, to bring. తీసుకొనివచ్చు. To produce. To adduce as an instance. To understand or imply (a word not expressed in a sentence.) To bring about or cause. చిత్తానకుతెచ్చు to observe or heed, to lay to heart. హరింపులోకితెచ్చు, i.e., హరించు to embezzle. అనుభవములోకి తెచ్చు, i.e., అనుభవించు t enjoy. ప్రసంగమునకుతెచ్చు to introduce or bring up a subject. వన్నెతెచ్చు to give (or produce) a colour. ముస్తెచ్చు to bring forward. పనికితెచ్చు to use or put (a thing) to use. దోవకుతెచ్చు to bring one into the way, to reform one. తెమ్ము (imperative) bring. తెచ్చుకొను teṭsṭsu-konu. v. n. To obtain or procure. To earn. కిన్కతెచ్చుకొను to feign or put on anger, to put oneself into passion. బుద్ధితెచ్చుకొను to recover one's senses: to form a good resolution. మనసుకు తెచ్చుకొను to bring to mind, to lay to heart, to understand, to recollect. తెప్పించు teppinṭsu. v. a. To procure. To senf for. To get, obtain, provide.

(p. 1248) śāla ṣāla. [Skt.] n. A house, edifice; a hall, room, place. గృహము, సభ, చావడి. అశ్వశాల a stable. ఆయుధశాల an arsenal, an armoury. ముద్రాక్షరశాల a printing office. టంకశాల a mint. యుగశాల a place of sacrifice. See సాల. శాల. n. An avenue or row of trees, a walk or promenade. దోవకు రెండుతట్ల చాల్పుగా పెట్టిన చెట్లు. తోటలో నడవడమునకు చాల్పుగాకట్టినది.
