Porridge. పిండి నూకలువేసి ౛ావగాకాచినది. చింతంబలి paste made of pounded tamarind seeds. అంబట్టి కుండ a porridge-pot. అంబటిప్రొద్దు break-fast time: about noon. 'పలుచనియంబళుల్ చెరుకుపాలెడనీళ్లు ... వడపిందెలు నీరుచల్లయున్ వెలయగబెట్టు వెసవిఁజందనచర్చమున్నగన్.' Amuk. i. 41.

(p. 31) aṭakali aṭakali. [Tel.] n. A stuff used to rub upon the head to clean the hair ఒడలు తోముకొనే పిండి. Plu. అటకండ్లు.

(p. 40) atirasamu ati-rasamu. [Skt.] n. A sweet cake made of rice meal and sugar fried in ghee. పాకముపట్టిన బెల్లము పిండి కలిపి నేతిలో పక్వము చేసిన భక్ష్యవిశేషము, అరిసెలు.

(p. 135) iḍi or ఇడికుడుములు iḍi. [Tel.] n. A sort of wheat cake. ఒకసారి ఆవిరియందును ఒకసారి ఎసటనువండిన పిండిని సన్నముగా ఒక అచ్చులో పెట్టి ఒత్తిన భక్ష్యవిశేషము. సేవియాలు. 'బుడుకులు నడుకులు నిడియు జలిమిడియును.' కాశీ. vii.

(p. 137) ippa ippa. [Tel.] n. Bassia latifolia or, the Butter Tree or Mahua Tree. పిన్న ఇప్ప చెట్టు Bassia longifolia, the Mowa or Mahua Tree of South India. సీమ ఇప్పచెట్టు Achras Sapota, the Sapodilla Plum of the West Indies. The Bully or Neesberry Tree (Watts.) ఇప్పపిండి the flour made from the seeds. ఇప్పపూరా౛నాలు a fragrant sort of rice. ఇప్పసారాయి strong spirit obtained from the ఇప్పచెట్టు.

(p. 148) uṇḍrāyi uṇḍrāyi. [Tel. ఉండ+రాయి] n. A ball of rice flour boiled in steam. ఉప్పినపిండిని ఉండలుగా చేసి వండినభక్ష్యము. ఉండ్రములు, ఉండ్రాలు, ఉండ్రాళ్లు uṇḍrāḷḷu. n. Cakes offered to the gods and particularly to Ganesa. ఉండ్రాళ్లపండుగ or ఉండ్రాళ్లతద్దె a feast kept by women who pay their vows by such offerings.

(p. 156) utpātamu ut-pātamu. [Skt.] n. A prodigy, a preternatural phenomenon such as an earthquake, a comet, or an abnormal birth. ఉత్పాతపిండము a wonderful genius. త్రివిధోత్పాతములు marvels or signs in air, earth, and heaven. A. iv. 300.

(p. 165) uppu uppu. [Tel.] v. t. To cook or boil. To steam or scald grain. ఉడకబెట్టు, ఆవిరిపోక ఉడకబెట్టు. ఉప్పినపిండి flour boiled in steam. ఉప్పుడు uppuḍu. adj. Malted. ఉప్పుడు బియ్యము malted rice. ఉప్పుడు పసుపు kiln dried turmeric.

(p. 174) ūṭu ūṭu. [Tel.] v. t. To thrust through. పొడుచు. 'పులిపులిగాగెబ్బులిపిండు నొకనాడు చెదరగా నూటెనా చేతియీటె.' రామా. ii.

(p. 248) karambhamu karambhamu. [Skt.] n. A sweet mixture, either of flavours or scents: a mess of food, a pudding or cake. పెరుగుతో తడిపిన పేలపిండి. కరంభితము karambhitamu. adj. Mixed: pounded.

(p. 252) karuḍu karuḍu. [Tel.] n. A lump, mass, clot. ముద్ద. A turf. The snuff of a wick. A wave, a ripple. A daily account or day book. దినవహి. పెంటికరుడు the lesser or female surf, being the one nearest shore. పోతుకరుడు the male surf being the furthest. పిండికరుడు a piece of bread, or dough. కరుడుకట్టు karuḍu-kaṭṭu. To strike. గంట కొట్టినది the clock has struck. గాలి కొట్టుచున్నది the wind is blowing. కంపు కొట్టినది it smells badly. కొల్లగొట్టినాడు he plundered. పిడుగు ఆ చెట్టును చీలగొట్టినది the thunder bolt struck and split the tree. దాన్ని పురుగులుకొట్టినవి insects have attacked it. వానికి ముఖము కొట్టినది he is surfeited or gorged. వానకొట్టినది there was rain. వానికి ఎండకొట్టినది he was exposed to the sun. కొట్టినపిండి a well bruised flour, -- a phrase implying thorough knowledge of any subject. వానికి రామాయణము కొట్టినపిండి he is thoroughly acquainted with the Rāmāyaṇa. 'కోమలినాకునెట్టియెడ కొట్టినపిండి సమస్తలలోకముల్ నీమదికింపులైనయవి నిర్భరశక్తినిదేసమర్థుడన్.' KP. vi. 30.
