(p. 330) kōlupōvu kōlu-pōvu. [Tel.] v. a. To lose. 'ఇక్కడ నినునిటుగోలుపోయి.' BRY. ii. 777. v. n. To be spoiled. చెడు. కోలుపోక kōlu-pōka. n. Losing. పోగొట్టుకొనుట .

(p. 666) nīgu nīgu. [Tel.] v. a. To get rid of. నివర్తించు. 'ఒక్కతపస్వియొక్క ప్రతిరాడేచూడడే తత్కృపన్ పుట్టువున్నీగెద.' టీ పుట్టువున్, నీగెదన్, అనగా యీ రాక్షసజన్నమును పోగొట్టుకొనెదను. A. vi. 65. 'వంతమనంబులో జనదు నావగనీగెదనేడునీకృపన్.' Parij. ii. 94.

(p. 816) pō pō. (The infinitive of పోవు) అతడు పోజూచి seeing that he was gone. పో pō. (Imperative of పోవు.) v. n. Go, పొమ్ము. In many places this is a mere expletive, as Go to. (in English). It denotes certainty or disregard, నిశ్చయమును లేక ఆనాదరమును తెలుపును. 'తెచ్చెదంబో వసుదేవమాను.' ఉ. హరి. v. పోక pōka. n. Going. పోవడము. Conduct, behaviour, నడవడి. పోకలు n. plu. Evil ways, wickedness. పోకరింతనములు Foolish wishes, or longings, ముద్దుకోరికలు. 'పల్పోకశృంగారములు.' (T. iii. 81.) very naughty pranks. పోకరిసొగసులు నీవుపోయినదే పోకా are you to be indulged in every thing? వారేమి అదేపోక పోయిరి I am surprised that they did not come back. పోక pōka. for పోవక(neg. p. of పోవు.) Without going. Also for పోకు, i.e., పోవద్దు don't go. (the final A being intensive.) పోకడ pō-kaḍa. n. Going, departure, going off. గమనము, గతి Behaviour, conduct, నడత, ప్రవర్తనము. Riddance. Ruin, నాశము. నెలదినాలుగా రాకడపోకడలేదు there has been no inter course between us for a month (literally going and coming.) పోకడపెట్టు pōkaḍa-peṭṭu. v. a. To drive away, to remove, పోగొట్టు. To sell, అమ్ము. విక్రయించు. దాన్ని ఎట్లైనను పోకడపెట్టు get rid of it in any way. పోకలాడి pōkal-āḍi. (పోకలు+ఆడి) n. A coquette, వగలాడి. 'క చూపట్ట గోమయంబున, జేపట్టొనరించి జడల జెక్కినలింగం, బాపోకలాడి కైకొని వేపికడన్నిలిపిభక్తివివశయు బోలెన్.' S. ii. 49. పోకలాడు pōkal-āḍu. v. n. To be coquettish, to flirt. పోకాడు pōkāḍu. (పోక+ఆడు.) v. n. To go, పోవు. To be done away with, to be destroyed, నశించు. పోకార్చు pōkārṭsu. v. a. To lose, పోగొట్టు, పోగొట్టుకొను. To destroy, ruin. 'రఘుకుమారుడరివర్గము పోకార్చి.' R. iii. 137. పోకాలు pōkālu. v. n. To go, as anger, sorrow, &c. పోవు. పోకరి pōkiri. n. A wicked man, a villain rogue, lewd fellow, blackguard, దుర్మార్గుడు adj. Naughty, wicked, mischievous, unprincipled. పోకరిమాట an obsence word. పోకిళ్లు pōkiḷḷu. n. plu. Idle wishes, fopperies, whims, freaks, whimsies. పోకిళ్లమారి a fop, an epicure.

(p. 816) pōgoṭṭu pō-goṭṭu. [Tel.] v. a. To lose. To do away with, to remove. అంధకారమును పొగొట్టెను he dispelled the darkness. నాకన్నులు పోగొట్టుతావా are you going to put out my eyes? చలిపోగొట్టుకొనుటకు to keep off the cold.

(p. 822) pōvu pōvu. [Tel.] v. n. To go, proceed. To pass, cease, disappear. To be lost, to die. ఇంటికి పోయినాడు he went home. వానిదోవను వాడు పోయెను he went his way. వానితండ్రి పోయినతరువాత after his father's death. పదిదినములు పోయిన తరువాత after ten days had passed. వాన పోయిన తరువాత after the rain ceased. ఆ పుస్తకముపోయినది the book is lost. వాని కండ్లు పోయినవి he lost his eyes. చిల్లులుపోయిన చెంబు a mug that leaks. పదింటిలో నాలుగుపోతే ఆరు deduct four from ten and six remain. వాడు దానితోపోయినాడు he had (sexual) intercourse with her. Added to infinitives in A, it gives the signification of intent or futurity. వ్రాయబోతే వద్దన్నాడు when I was going to write he told me not to do so. దాన్ని కొట్టబోయినాడు he was about to strike her. వారెప్పుడు పోబోతారు when are they going to set out? చెప్పబోయేవుసుమీ take care, you don't mention it. Affixed to the past affirmative participles of many verbs, it denotes completeness: as ఆ గోడ పడిపోయినది the wall has fallen down. ఆ మాటలు ఇప్పుడు ఏటిలో కలిసిపోయినవి those words are now all forgotten; lit: gone into the river. వారక్కడనే ఉండి పోయినారు they settled there. Joined to negative participles it is used to form a past tense negative. రాకపోయెను he did not come. పోకపోయెను he did not go. వినకపోయెను he would not listen. పోవుదెంచు Same as పోవు. Also, to pass, as time, కడచు, పోదోయు pō-dōyu. v. a. To baffle, to push back, to thrust away. పోదోలు pō-dōlu. v. a. To drive off. పోనాడు pōn-āḍu. v. a. To drive off, to turn away, to abandon. To blame, censure, నిందించు, పోగొట్టు or పోగొట్టుకొను to lose. పోని pōni. (neg. part. of పోవు) who or which goes not. పోని దోషము a sin that cannot be removed or done away. లేనిపోని nonsensical. లేనిపోనిమాటలు foolish language. లేనిపోనిపని a foolish thing. లేనిపోనిదేవులు gods that are no gods. పోని. [for పోనిమ్ము.] imperative: Let it go, let it pass. Never mind. పోనొత్తు pōn-ottu. v. a. To do away, to remove. 'అయ్యుంతులు, చిత్తజుబాణములచేత సిగ్గంతయుబోనొత్తి మునిబెండ్లియాడగ తత్తరపడుటెరిగి.' Vish. v. 147. పోపడు pō-paḍu. v. n. To go, పోవు. 'క కోపంబునరాజుకొడుకు గుడ్డులు రెండుం, బోపడునట్లుగగోళ్లన్, వేపెరికి.' M. XII. iii. 243. పోబడి pō-baḍi. (పోవు+బడి.) n.
