(p. 33) aḍa aḍa. [Tel.] n. A lump, clot, mass (as of dates, sugar, hair, &c.) ముద్ద, చింతపండడలు lumps of tamarind. అడకట్టు or అడగొను to become clotted. ముద్దకట్టుకొను. తల అడలుకట్టినది the hair became matted, all the tresses are matted together. అడచేయు aḍa-chēyu. [Tel.] v. To knead and make into lump.

(p. 111) aḍi āḍi. An affix (derived from ఆడు) implying 'doer' or 'performer,' as మాయలు tricks, మాయలాడి a rogue: ముద్దులు fondness, ముద్దులాడి a fond girl: కులుకులు graces, కులుకులాడి a lovely woman: టక్కులు pranks, టక్కులాడి a cheat.

(p. 44) addu addu. [Tel.] v. a. To press gently. To dip, to print with colours. ముంచు. 'ఇద్ధంబుగా పాలనద్దుము నీటనద్దుము మాకింకనన్యధా లేదు.' BD. v. 319 సిరా అద్దుము blot the ink. కండ్లను అద్దుకొనుము press it to the eyes as a mark of respect. అద్దుముద్దు n. Sport, play. బిడ్డ యొక్క చేష్టలు. ఆ బిడ్డ యొక్క అద్దు ముద్దు చూడక చచ్చినాడు he died without seeing the child play.

(p. 57) anumu anumu. [Tel.] n. Fitness. Beauty ఒప్పు. 'అమ్మానేనిన్నేలిన యమ్ముద్దియగానుబుడమిననుముదలిర్పన్ ద్రిమ్మరు యయాతియుడిగపు గొమ్మన్.' య. v.

(p. 60) annemu annemu. [Tadbhav of Skt. అన్యము] adj. Another, other, different. అన్యము. అన్నెము n. Other thing. వేరొకటి, ఇతరమైనది. 'మున్నొకనాడు నంగనలముద్దులసుద్దు లెరుంగనట్టిచో నన్నెమికేల.' T. ii. 112. Also, corruption of అన్యాయము injustice. అన్నెకాడు an unjust man. అన్యాయకారి; అన్నెకారి unjust woman. అన్యాయకారిణి.

(p. 90) allāḍu or అల్లలాడు allāḍu. [Tel. అల్ల+ఆడు] v. n. To shake, move, wave, toss about, to wander about, to be in distress. ఆడు, గాలికి కొట్టుకొను, తిరుగు, సంచరించు, కడగండ్లబడు. 'ధరాచక్రమల్లాడె.' N. iv. 288. ధ్వజపటము గాలికి అల్లాడుచున్నది the flag flutters in the wind. కూటి అల్లాడుతాడు he is in want of bread. కొలువుకు అల్లాడుతాడు he is in trouble for want of employment. అల్లాటము allāṭamu [Tel.] n. A to-andfro movement, wandering about. అల్లారుదు or అల్లార్చు allāruṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To shake, move, vibrate, agitate, wag, wave. ఆడించు, విసురు. 'ఘనవాలమల్లార్చు.' N. i. 144. అల్లారుముద్దు allāru-muddu. [Tel. అల్ల+ఆరు+ముద్దు.] Prettiness, agreeableness, sweetness. జనసమ్మతి, అతిప్రేమాస్పదము. అల్లారుముద్దుగా ad. Prettily, agreeably, sweetly, pleasantly. జనసమ్మతిగా, అందరికి సంతోషముగా, ముచ్చటగా. 'పడుచుదనమున వేడుకపడుచున్నాడు ముద్దరాండ్రకు నల్లారు ముద్దుగాను.' N. ix. 102.

(p. 122) āru āru. [Tel.] v. n. To teem with, be full of నిండు; to be or have. సొంపారిన beautiful. ఇంపారిన delightful. నిండారుగానున్నది it is full. అలరారు blooming. చెన్నారిన lovely. పొల్పారిన charming (compare the affix ఆరి as నేర్పరి, సొంపరి, &c.) గోజారు to trouble. సొంపారు to bloom, to be pretty. In such phrases as నూరారు వెయ్యారు the word అరు is not the numeral six, but is a form of అరు to be full; so వెయ్యారు means full thousand and నూరారు full a hundred. నూరారుముద్దులు a full hundred kisses. చేతులారంగ శివుని పూజింపడేని if he sacrifice not to Siva with his own hands. చేతులార రూకలు చెల్లిస్తిని I paid the money with my own hands. పని ఆరుమూడు అయినది the work is all in confusion, at sixes and sevens.

(p. 170) uluku uluku. [Tel.] v. n. To start, quiver, (See the casual ఉలుచు) ముద్దులుకు కన్నులు eyes quivering with prettiness. 'కలికి లేనడు ములికికులికెన్.' she wagged her waist at him in derision. ఉలుకు n. Timidity, fright. జడుపు.

(p. 216) osagu or ఒసంగు osagu. [Tel.] v. a. To give. ముద్దొసగు to give a kiss. ముద్దులొసంగు నీ మొగము your beautiful face. ఒసగు n. A gift ఈని, త్యాగము.

(p. 299) kulupurāyi kulupu-rāyi. [Tel.] n. A kind of gem. రాజా వర్తము. 'నీలపుగులుపు చెక్కిన మేలిపసిండి ముద్దుటుంగరము.' Paidim. i. 10.

(p. 323) kolimi kolimi. [Tel.] n. A pit. A fire pit or furnace. ముద్దకొలిమి a smelting forge. నీళ్లకొలిమి a reservoir. కొలిమిత్తిత్తి a pair of bellows.

(p. 379) gumma gumma. [Tel.] n. A spirt or gush, as of milk. క్షీరధార. A high basket. బట్ట. A girl, a darling, a little one. ముద్దుగుమ్మ a pretty woman చక్కనిస్త్రీ.

(p. 384) geṇṭu genṭu. [Tel.] v. n. To move, shake, stir, go. చలించు, తొలగు. 'ధరణీమండలమమ్మహాంబునిధిమీదన్ నిల్పినల్ దిక్కులన్ ధరణీధ్రమ్ములు గెంటకుండనిడి.' V. P. i. 78. v. a. To thrust, push away, force, cause to totter. To toss aside. చలించు, తొలగు. n. Movement చలనము. గెంటుపడు genṭu-paḍu v. n. To miss. తప్పుట. గెంటని genṭani. adj. Immoveable, not to be shaken (as love), resistless, irrepressible, not to be turned away. స్థిరమైన, ఎడతెగని. 'అక్కలకంతితమ్మరసమంటగ గెంటనిప్రేమ వానినున్ జెక్కులముద్దు పెట్టుకొని.' T. ii. 96. గెంటించు genṭinṭsu. v. t. To push. To cause one to be pushed or sent away. యశోదశయ్య నొయ్యనచిన్ని నల్లనయ్యనునిచిచయ్యననయ్యవ్యకూతు నెత్తుకొని మరల నింటికింగెంటింపక వచ్చి.' B. X. iii. 45.

(p. 400) ghanībhaviñcu ghanī-bhavinṭsu. [Skt.] v. n. To unite in a mass, to curdle, thicken, freeze. To become firm or solid. ముద్దకట్టు.

(p. 410) cikkana or చిక్కదనము chikkana. [Tel. from చిక్కు.] n. Thickness, as of milk or syrup. Strength, stoutness బలము, దార్ఢ్యము. చిక్కని chikkani. adj. Thick as a liquid, plump. Close pressed, as a kiss. 'చిక్కనిముద్దుపెట్టిన' Ila. ii. 165.
