The name of a certain kind of pill. The term is metaphorically used in the titles of many books and may there be explained as a 'key, analysis, essay, or treatise.' Thus the ఆంధ్రభాషాచింతామణి is a Key to the Telugu language. వైద్య చింతామణి a key to Pharmacy. చింతించు, చింతిల్లు or చింతలు chintinṭsu. v. n. To think on, to muse, to ponder, to reflect. To be sorry for, to regret, to grieve or be afflicted వగచు. చింతితము chintitamu. adj. Mused on, considered.

Lit: A row of lights, i.e., A feast held on the 14th day of the dark fortnight (bahula) in Aswayuja (answering to Oct. Nov.) wherein is commemorated the నరకాసురవధ. దీపించు. dīp-inṭsu. v. n. To shine, to be evident. to be distinguished or glorious. దీపిక dīpika. n. A lamp, a light. దీపము. ఆంధ్ర దీపిక the Lamp of Telugu, the name of a Telugu Dictionary. నీతిదీపిక lit. 'The lamp of Morals.' దీప్తి dīpti. n. Lustre. brilliancy. కాంతి, వెలుగు. దీప్యము dip-yamu. n. Cummin seed. ఓమము, జీలకర్ర.

A father's father. తండ్రితండ్రి, తాత. Brahma, బ్రహ్మ. ఆంధ్రకవితాపితామహుడు 'the Father of Telugu poesy,' a title of the celebrated poet Allasāni Peddanna. ప-రపితామహుడు great grandfather. పితామహి a grandmother on the father's side, తండ్రితల్లి. పితాళ్లు piṭaḷḷu. (another form of పితరులు.) n. The manes or ghosts of forefathers. Charitr. i. 1526. పితరులు pitarulu. n. Deceased or departed ancestors, పితృదేవతలు.

Cleverness, proficiency, skill, ability. నిపుణత. విద్యాప్రవీణత scholarship. ప్రవీణుడు pra-vīṇuḍu. n. One who is skilful or clever, an expert, నిపుణుడు, నేర్పరి. ఆంధ్రభాష యందు మిక్కిలి ప్రవీణులయిన highly accomplished in Telugu.

(p. 843) prākāramu pr-ākāramu. [Skt.] n. An enclosure, a fence, a rampart, a surrounding wall. చుట్టుగోడ, ప్రహరి. 'శ్రీశైలభీమకాళేశ మహేంద్రగిరి సంయుతం, ప్రాకారంతు మహత్కృత్వా త్రీణిద్వారాణిచాకరోత్.' ఆంధ్రకాముది, i.e. He made these mountains as a great boundary wall, wherein there were three entrances.

(A word used only in compound phrases.) పులుగులరాయడు the king of birds, i.e., Garuḍa. తెనుంగురాయడు or ఆంధ్రనాయకుడు the name of the god worshipped at Chicacole. కొండలరాయడు the king of hills, i.e., the Himalaya. A title (like Mr.) assumed by certain Hindus as రామరాయడు, గోవిందరాయడు. రాయలు (plu.) was the title assumed by the last Telugu dynasty. the kings of Vijayanagar.
