(p. 41) attamillu attamillu. [Skt. from అస్తమించు.] v. n. To sit down, lie down; to lean against. ఒరుడు, కూర్చుండు, పరుండు. 'పసుపు టాకుల గుత్తుల సత్తమిల్లు సెత్తావుల మొత్తంబులు తాలవృంతంబులై.' S. iii. 436. 'విదురుండు మణిపీఠంబునం గృష్ణుని వెన్ను దెసతీదీయోన్న తపీఠంబున నత్తమిల్లియుండె.' M. V. iii. 253.

(p. 208) oḍi oḍi. [Tel.] n. The lap, the loins: తొడ పైభాగము. A pocket or pouch formed by a fold in a person's vest. Also, same as ఒడువు. (q. v.) పశుయోని. ఒడిలోపోయు to put in one's pocket, to devour. ఒళ్లో or ఒడిలో కూర్చుండు to sit in the lap. ఆవుకు ఒడిజారినది నేడో రేపో దూడవేయును the cow is on the point of calving. ఒడికట్టు oḍi-kaṭṭu. n. A girdle, as part of female dress. ఒడ్డాణము. చెంగాని ఒడికట్టు a red petticoat or girdle. ఒడికట్టు oḍi-kaṭṭu. v. t. To bind up the apron, &c. as a pocket. To be ready or eager to do a thing యుత్నించు. వాడు పాపానికి ఒడికట్టెను he set himself to commit crime.

(p. 210) odugu odugu. [Tel.] v. n. To make room. to move so as to accomodate తొలగు. To come to hand, to be got or obtained. దొరకు. To become plentiful సమృద్ధమగు. To be of use or convenient. To assist, be at hand or ready. ఈ బియ్యము పండితే అన్నము ఒదుగుకావడములేదు on boiling this rice, it does not swell to the proper quantity. ఈ బట్టచలికి ఒదగదు this cloth is of no use against cold. కొంచెము ఒదుగుము, ఆయనను కూర్చుండనిమ్ము move a little and let him sit down. ఒదిగి ఒదిగి ఉన్నారు; they yielded. నాకు ఇప్పట్లో రూకలు ఒదగలేదు I have not yet obtained the money.

(p. 305) kūrcuṇḍu or కూరుచుండు kūrṭsunḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To sit, sit down, be seated. కూర్చుండబెట్టు kūrṭsunḍa-beṭṭu. v. a. To seat, make one sit down. కూర్చుండబడు to sit కూర్చుండు. 'గీ. ఇంత పాఫంబు చేయంగ నెత్తికొందు, రయ్యరాజ్యలోభంబున నఖిలబంధు, జనులవధియింప దొడతినని రథంబు, మీదగూర్చుండబడియె జేయూదికొనుచు.' భార. భీష్మ. i.

(p. 386) gontu or గొంతుక gontu. [Tel.] n. The throat. కంఠము. The voice, a tone కంఠధ్వని. గొంతుపట్టినది I am chocked, i.e., I do not know what to say. నా గొంతురాసినది I am hoarse. వానిగొంతుకమ్మినది he is hoarse. గొంతుకపోక or గొంతునబడి gontuka-pōka. n. The apple of the throat. గొంతుకూర్చుండు gontu-kūrṭsunḍu. v. n. To squat down on one's heels. గొంతుకోత gontu-kōṭa. n. A cutthroat business. A brawl, a quarrel. గొంతెమగోరుచెట్టు gontema-gōru-cheṭṭu. n. A plant, Paederia foetida. సారణి, లంజె. సవరము. గొంతెమ్మ gontemma n. The name of a certain rural goddess. గొంతెమ్మకోరికలు gontemma-kōrikalu. n. Whimsical speculations, castles in the air. కోరదగనికోరికలు, వెర్రిమూచనలు.

(p. 428) ceṇuku or చెనుకు cheṇuku. v. a. To stir up, excite, provoke, stimulate. To challenge, incite. To poke, shove. చెణకకుండా కూర్చుండు sit down quietly without meddling with any one.

A judge or arbitrator. A church warden, or manager of a temple. The executor to an estate. ధర్మజ్ఞుడు dharmagnyudu. n. One who knows what is right. ధర్మము నెరిగినవాడు. ధర్మధ్వజి dharma-dhvaji. n. A formalist or one who pretends to be religious from ulterior motives. జీవనార్థములింగ జటాభస్మాదులను ధరించినవాడు. ధర్మరాజు dharma-rāḍzu. n. The 'king of justice,' a name of Yama, the kind of Hell; also, the name of a hero in the Mahabharata. A certain petty village god. ధర్మరాజాదులు the Pandu heroes collectively. ధర్మసత్రము dharma-satramu. n. A charity house, a poor's house. ధర్మాత్ముడు dharm-ātmuḍu. n. A virtuous or liberal man. పుణ్యాత్ముడు. ధర్మాసనము dharm-āsanamu. n. A judge's seat, 'the bench.' ధర్మాధికారి కూర్చుండుపీఠము. ధర్మిష్ఠులు dharm-ishṭhulu. n. Charitable or benevolent persons. ధర్మి dharmi. adj. Just. ధర్మముగల. ధర్ముడు dharmuḍu. n. The Just One. A name of Yama, యముడు. ధర్మువు dharmuvu. n. Virtue, justice. న్యాయము, పుణ్యము. ధర్మేతరుడు dharm-ētaruḍu. n. An unjust or unrighteous man.

A seat made of board. కూర్చుండుపలక. బల్లపీట a bench. నాలుగుకాళ్లపీట a stool. వీణెపీట the bridge of a violin, also called గుర్రము. దూలపుపీట the short cross rafter in the top of a Hindu house roof. చాకలిపీట a washerman's bench on which he beats the cloth. కాడిపీట a short piece of wood under a yoke, నొగకు దిగువవేయు చెక్క. పీటబెట్టు or పీటవెట్టు pīṭa-beṭṭu. v. n. The disease called spleen. గుల్మము. వారు బల్లమీద కూర్చుండిరి they were sitting on a bench. రెండుబల్లలను ౛తచేయుము join the two planks together. అతనికడుపులో బల్లకట్టుకొన్నది or బల్లపెరిగినది he has a enlargement of the spleen. నీరుబల్ల the dropsy బల్లకట్టు balla-kaṭṭu. n. A large flat bottomed boat, a raft. వెడలుపైన అడుగుగల పడవ. బల్లకూర్పు balla-kūrpu. n. Wainscotting, planking, joiner's work. బల్లకూర్పుటిల్లు a house built of boards. బల్లకోల balla-kōla. n. A sort of spear of harpoon. పంట్రకోల. 'భ్రమితేంద్రియములను బలునిర్రె నేసి, భాషాప్రణీతమన్బలుబల్లకోల, నీషణత్రయమను నెలుగుకన్నొడిచి.' BD. v. 1443. బల్లగోలలవారు balla-gōlala-vāru. n. Lancers. 'వరుసనుబహుపుష్ఫ వాటికల్ నాటి, జాలవారిని దివ్వటీలను బల్లగోలలవారిని గుడిపూజరులను.' BD. iii. 1016.

(p. 915) bruṣi or బ్రుసి brushi. [Skt.] n. A seat, throne, couch, as that of a hermit, made of grass. యత్యాదులు కూర్చుండే ఆసనము.
