(p. 712) paracu or పరుచు paraṭsu. [Tel. causal of పడు.] v. a. and v. n. To cause to fall, పడజేయు. To make or cause. To spread over, as a mat. To expand or spread. To go, to run. To run away. To urge or cause to run. To flow as water. To pass as time. To make one enjoy or suffer. పాటుపడజేయు, విస్తరింపజేయు, చేయు, పోవు, పరుగెత్తు. పరుగెత్తిమచు. ప్రవహించు, గడుచు, అనుభవింపజేయు 'కొట్టితేని యముడు గొట్టుపరుచు.' Vēma. 1341. 'వినతకు మ్రొక్కి వీడ్కొని గరుడుండు నతిత్వరీతగతింబరచి.' M. I. ii. 68. 'నీపేరెరిగియును దుపనొల్లక పరుతురధోగతుల౛ాడ పద్మదళాక్ష.' B. X. 93. 'చెట్టొకడుగాగ బరచిరి చెంచులుపుడు.' Swa. iv. 143. 'నిండిపరచుదరచు సెలయేరుల.' Swa. iv. 91. It is used with nouns, adjectives, verbs, and postpositions to form verbs with a causal signification. ఆటంకపరచు to prevent. భేదపరుచు to distinguish, to effect a distinction. to separate. సమ్మతిపరుచు to persuade, to convince or to make one agree. దృఢపరుచు to make firm to establish. తెలియబరుచు to make known. తేటబరుచు to make clear. లోబరుచుకొను to subdue, to bring under one's control. దిట్టపరుచు to prepare, to make ready. వారిని లోబరుచుకొన్నాడు he has got them into his hands. దాన్ని ఫలపరిచినాడు he brought it into use. పరత, పరతి or పరద parata. n. A stream, current, ప్రవాహము, వరద. వరతెంచు para-tenṭsu. [పరచు+తెంచు.] v. n. To come running. పారివచ్చు.

(p. 936) manda manda. [Tel.] n. A flock or herd of cattle. పశుసమూహము. A place where the flocks or herds are kept outside a village, ఊరికిబయట పశువులుండుచోటు. A hamlet, inhabited by herdsmen, గొల్లపల్లె. కుక్కల మంద a pack of dogs. మందకట్టు or మందకట్టుబాటు the bye-laws of shepherds. గొల్లలు ఏర్పరచుకొన్న ఏర్పాటు. ఆ చేలకు మందకట్టిరి they manured the field by penning sheep or goats on it. మందగొను manda-gonu. v. n. To come together in a crowd, మందగాకూడు. మందపిచ్చిక manda-pichchika. n. The name of a little white breasted bird with a black-head. శిరమందపిచ్చిక a species with a yellow breast. మందప్రోయాలు manda-prōyālu. n. A shepherdness; గొల్లది.

(p. 1143) vaśamu vaṣamu. [Skt.] n. Possession, custody, charge. Subjection, submission, లోకువ, స్వాధీనము. Ability, authority, power, supremacy, ప్రభుత్వము, అధీనత్వము. అతని వశములో ఉన్నది it is in his charge or in his hands. 'ధనమువీధిబడినదైవవశంబున నుండు.' సమీరవశంబున carried by the wind, breeze-borne. ఆ యింటిని తమవశము చేసికొన్నాడు he took charge or possession of the house. నన్ను వశపరచుకొనలేకపోయినాడు he was unable to get me into his hands. అది నాకు వశము, లేక. అది నా వశాననున్నదా is it in my power to do so? కాలవశముచేత in the course of time, by the lapse of time. నాకు ఆకలి వశముకాకుండా ఉన్నది I cannot curb my appetite, I am excessively hungry. నా పుణ్యవశమున by my luck. వశ vaṣa. n. A wife, పెండ్లాము. A female elephant, ఆడుఏనుగు A barren cow, గొడ్డుటావు. వశంవదము vaṣam-vadamu. adj. Submissive, obedient. విధేయుడైన. వశంవదుడు vaṣam-vaduḍu. n. One who talks submissively, one who is submissive, విధేయుడు, లోకువయగునట్లు మాటలాడువాడు. వశత్వము vaṣatvamu. n. Obedience, submissiveness. M. XVI. i. 226. కాలవశత్వంబున by the course of time. వశపరచుకొను vasa-paratsu-konu. v. n. To take possession of, to take under one's control. వశాత్ or వశాతుగా vaṣāt. adv. Through, b in consequence of, in subjection to, over-powered by. గ్రహచారవశాత్తుగా through his bad luck. దైవవశాత్ by the finger of God. వశి vaṣi. n. A chaste man; one who has subdued his passions. ఇంద్రియ నిగ్రహముగలవాడు. వశీకరణము vaṣī-karaṇamu. n. The act of over powering, subduing, or inveigling by charms, spells or drugs. మందుమాకుల చేత స్వాధీనముచేసికొనుము, వశ్యముచేసుకొనడము. వశీకరించు vaṣī-karinṭsu. v. a. To subdue or over-power by means of charms, drugs, &c. వశ్యము vaṣyamu. adj. Dependant on, subject to, over-powered by charms, drugs, &c. స్వాధీనమైన, లోకువైన. వశ్యుడు vaṣyuḍu. n. A dependant, one who is submissive, obedient, or subject to, విధేయుడు, వశ్యురాలు vaṣyu-r-ālu. n. She who is submissive. విధేయురాలు. వశ్యౌషథము vaṣy-aushadhamu. n. Any medicine made use of to subject another to one's own will. A love-powder.

(p. 1227) vaijātyamu vai-jātyamu. [Skt. from విజాతి.] n. The state of belonging to a different caste, విజాతిత్వము. వైజాతి or వయిజాతి vai-jāti. n. A certain low caste among Komatis. కోమట్లలో ఒకవిధమైన నీచకులము. 'వ అగసాలె: సాలె, పటుసాలె, వానె, వైజాతి.' A. iv. 56. వైజాతితొండ vai-jāti-tonḍa. n. A chameleon. ఊసరవెల్లి. 'సీ చెల్లలుసెల్లములకీక్షింపనిచ్చిన సొమ్ముమగుడనీలేని కోమటిగులామ, చేసేతవిశ్వసించిన వారివెచ్చసచ్చముల బేల్పరచువైజాతితొండ.' పంచ. వేం. i.

(p. 1270) saṅkētamu sankētamu. [Skt.] n. An appointment, agreement, compact, engagement, ఏర్పాటు, ఒడబాటు, నిష్కర్ష, నిర్ణయము. A provision, a matter or point previously arranged. A sign or signal, a token or intimation, generally without words; a nod, wink, beck, indicative gesture, గురుతు, సంజ్ఞ. A name, పేరు. A place of assignation, a rendezvous, ముందుగా మాట్లాడి నిష్కర్షచేసికొన్న స్థలము. A. v. 135. 'సంకేతంబులనుండక.' Swa. iii. 45. adj. Appointed, fixed, ordained, stipulated, contracted for, agreed upon. నిర్ణీతమైన, నిష్కర్షచేయబడిన, ఏర్పరచుకోబడిన. సంకేతనామము a technical name, a name agreed upon but different from the real name. సంకేతపదము a technica l word, a technicality. సంకేతస్థలము or సంకేతస్థానము a place of rendezvous, a place of assignation. నిర్ణయించుకొన్న చోటు. సంకేతించు sankētinṭsu. v. a. To appoint, assign, fix, contract for, agree upon, నిష్కర్షచేయు, నిర్ణయించు, ఏర్పాటుచేయు. To give a name to, పేరుపెట్టు. 'వెరవకసంకేతించిన తెరగున నయ్యెడకునరుగుదెంచు.' M. IV. ii. 282. సంకేతితము sankētitamu. adj. Appointed, fixed, ordained, stipulated, contracted for, agreed upon, నిష్కర్షచేయబడిన, నిర్ణయించబడిన, ఏర్పరుచుకొన బడిన.

(p. 1281) samprōkṣaṇamu sam-prōkshaṇamu. [Skt.] n. A ceremonial sprinkling of water. Hallowing, cleansing, consecrating, dedication, lustration, మంత్రోదకమును చిలకరించడము, దేవాలయాదులను ఉపయోగపరచుకోవడమునకై మంత్రోదకమును చిలకరించడము, విగ్రహాదులకు శివప్రతిష్ఠ చేయడము. ఆ విగ్రహము పోతపోసి సిద్ధముగానున్నది గాని యింకా సంప్రోక్షణము కాలేదు the idol is all ready and adorned but is not yet consecrated. సంప్రోక్షించు sam-prōkshinṭsu. v. a. To sprinkle with holy water, to consecrate. సంప్రోక్షితము sam-prōkshitamu. adj. Sprinkled with, consecrated.

(p. 1377) svādhīnamu sv-ādhīnamu. [Skt. స్వ+అధీనము.] n. Charge, trust, subjection, possession, power, control. వశము, అధికారము. వారు అతని స్వాధీనములో నున్నారు they are under his control. దాన్ని నీ స్వాధీనము చేస్తిని I gave it into your charge. వాని చెయ్యి వాని స్వాధీనము లోలేదు he cannot use his hand. తాను దానిని స్వాధీన పరచుకొన్నాడు he got it into his possession. ప్రస్తుతము స్వాధీనముకాని సొమ్ము money not available at present. ఆ పని తన స్వాధీనము చేసుకొన్న తరువాత after he undertook the affair or took it into his own hands. స్వాధీనపతిక sv-ādhīna-pati-ka. n. A self-willed woman, one who rules her husband. చెప్పినట్లు ఆడే మగడుగల ఆడది. స్వాధీనుడు sv-ādhīnuḍu. n. A dependent, an obedient man, one who is subject to another, one who is sub-servient, docile, or tractable. వశ్యుడు. విధేయుడు. వారు స్వాధీనులుకారు they are disobedient. తనకు స్వాధీనుడుగా నుండే తమ్ముని పంపించినాడు he sent his brother who was under his control. స్వాధీనురాలు sv-ādhīnu-r-ālu. n. A woman who is subject to, or submissive. విధేయురాలు.
