(p. 166) ubuku ubuku. [Tel.] n. Heaving, swelling. పొంగుట. ఉబుకు v. n. To swell, jut, bulge, be projected, to heave or rise. పొంగు.

(p. 800) poṅgu pongu. [Tel.] v. n. To effervesce; to boil or bubble up, overflow, boil over. To swell. To forment. To exult, to be overjoyed, elated, to be in ecstasy. సంతోషించు. To become proud, గర్వించు. పొంగి బోర్లపడు to boil over with pride or delight. ఎండచేత కండ్లు పొంగినవి the eyes are inflamed by the glare. పొంగునీళ్లు boiling water. పొంగు pongu. n. Effervescence, boiling or bubbling up, overflowing. Excess of joy. సంతోషము. Pride, గర్వము. Eruption of the measles. Boiling water in which rice is to be cooked, ఎసరుకాగిననీళ్లు, చిట్టుడుకునీళ్లు. ఎసరుపొంగి పోతున్నది the water is boiling over. నీ పొంగుకుంగ may your pride perish. ఇదియేమి చూచుకొన్న పొంగు on what do you pride yourself? పొంగులక్షణము symptoms of an eruption of measles. పొంగుప్రాలు pongu-prālu. n. A sort of grain. పొంగలించు pongalinṭsu. v. n. To stand erect; to be proud, నిక్కు. పొంగారు pong-āru. (పొంగు+ఆరు.) v. n. To be full, నిండారు., To swell out, ఉబుకు. To rejoice, సంతోషించు. To excel, to be proud, అతిశయించు, విజృంభించు, నిక్కు 'తూర్యములపటుధ్వాన మడరినింగి పొంగారె నత్యంత నిశ్చలంబులయ్యె సైనికినికరంబులద్భుతముగ.' M. VIII. iii. 273. పొంగించు ponginṭsu. To boil. To delight, to please much. చేరెడుబియ్యము పొంగించుకొనినాడు he boiled a handful of rice.

(p. 811) poralu , పొర్లు, పొరలాడు, పొర్లాడు, పొరలబడు or పొర్లబడు poralu. [Tel.] v. n. To roll over, to roll on the ground; to wallow. To be in excess, to over-flow. To continue, ప్రవర్తిల్లు.' యదూద్వహుండు పుష్పతల్పంబుపై జేరి పొరలుచుండు.' Pal. 233. 'పురహరుడు మున్ను, సాధింపవచ్చిన చందమున నేడు, పొరలినకోపమున పొంగుచున్నాడు.' To wish, long for, like, కోరు, ఇచ్ఛించు.' సుస్థిరభుజశక్తి నైదుపదిసేయరు దత్తినతక్క మట్టి కై, పొరలరధీ శుడీకమలబుద్ధి కళూరిక దక్క.' A. ii. 39. టీ మట్టికై, భూమికై, పొరలరు, అభిలషింపరు. To be crossed or covered, as a cow. ఆవుపొర్లినతర్వాత after the cow was crossed. మాటపొర్లవద్దు do not break your word. ఆ కల్లుకుండ పొర్లిపొర్లి ఉన్నది the toddy pot is overflowing. పొరలు, పొరలిక, పొర్లిక or పొరలాట n. Rolling over or over flowing. పొరలుదండము a bow or salutation made while rolling on the ground. పొరలుపెట్టు Same as పొరలు. పొర్లుకట్ట porlu-kaṭṭa. n. A bank or bund raised to prevent water from overflowing. పొరలించు, పొర్లించు, పొరలుచు or పొరల్చు poralinṭsu. v. a. To roll. To turn over. మాటపొర్లించినాడు he changed his statement or prevaricated.

(p. 891) buḍumalu buḍumalu. [Tel.] n. A species of grain. One species is called వంగాకు బుడుమలు. 'చంద్రవంకలుజీనసరులు, కాంభోజలు, వంగాకుబుడుమలుపొంగుప్రాలు.' H. iv. 156.

(p. 955) mara mara. [Tel.] n. A spiral, a screw. a joint or hinge కీలు. adj. Made of wood. wooden. కొయ్యతోచేసిన. మరకట్టు mara-kaṭṭu. n. A sort of spell called స్తంభనము. 'వాకట్టు మరకట్టు వణికెడికట్టు, పొట్టపొంగెడు కట్టు పొంగులకట్టు.' Pal. 93. మరకాడు mara-kāḍu. n. A sailor, నావికుడు. A skipper, the commander of a vessel. A ship owner. ఓడదొర.' సురరాజునకు పాండుకరి జేర్చుమరకాడు.' Swa. v. 56. టీ మరకాడు. ఓడనర్తకుడు. మరగాలు mara-gālu. n. A stilt or wooden leg, కృత్రిమపాదము. మరగొమ్మ mara-gommu. n. A stilt. The pommel of a saddle, గుర్రము మీదిపల్లమునకు ముందు వెనుకలనానికకై యెత్తుగా నేర్పరచియుండు భాగము.' వేనుకమరగొమ్ము సూతగాగొనుచు ననియె.' KP. iii. 69. మరచేప mara-chēpa. n. A sort of shark. సొడ్లమర or చొట్లమర the Squatina or Angel Shark. మరచుట్టు mara-tsuṭṭu. n. A toe ring secured with a screw, తిరుగడ.' భ్రమద్గతులౌ మరచుట్టులోయనన్.' A. v. 131. A turnscrew, తిరుగాణి. మరమేకు mara-mēku. n. A screw, lit: a spiral nail, ఇస్కోరాణి. మరసాన mara-sāna. n. An instrument for polishing stones, రాళ్లపనివాని సాధనవిశేషము.

(p. 1008) muppoṅgu mup-pongu. [Tel. మూడు + పొంగు.] v. n. To boil over three times, మూడు పొంగులుపొంగు. To be elated (with joy,) ఉప్పొంగు.

(p. 1049) mraṅgu or మ్రంగబడు mrangu. [Tel.] v. n. To decrease, be abated, be humbled. క్రుంగు, వ్రాలు, తగ్గు, మట్టుపడు. 'ఉ అంగన యుంగదీప్తి యమృతాంశు మయూఖతరంగరేఖను, ప్పొంగుచుదీప్తమైయచట బొల్పెసలారెడు బ్రహ్మతేజమున్. మ్రంగబడంగజేసె నభిరామగుణంబిక జెప్ప వేలయ, య్యంగజిదివ్యతేజమున కడ్డమె యూవెడ బ్రహ్మతేజమున్.' Ellana. iii. 366.

(p. 1342) sumāḷamu sumāḷamu. [Tel.] n. Mirth, joy, gaiety, elation, అత్యుత్సాహము, సుఖము. 'సామాన్యమానవులంగైకొనక సుమాళంబు వేద్యంబుగా.' A. iv. 44. టీ మనోభావము. సుమాళి sumāḷi. n. One who is elated with joy. సంతో షముతో ఉప్పొంగువాడు. నుమాళించు sumāḷ-inṭsu.v. n. To leap for joy.' ఉల్లాసముచేత గంతులుయు 'తే గీ తన్నుగని సుమాళించుధవు నిహృదయ, నవమయూరము చెలరేగి నాట్యమాడె.' KP. vii. 202.
