(p. 778) pūcu pūṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To flower, bloom, blossom, bud, shoot out, open or expand, పుష్పించు. To have a bad mark, as a horse. To become sapless or weak, నిస్సారమగు. నాలుకపూచినది the tongue furred. కన్నులు పూచినవి the eyes became discoloured by disease. పూచిన బట్టలు spotty clothes, which shew odd marks although washed, అకస్మికముగా తెల్లబట్టలలో బడే నల్లచుక్కలు. A. v. 127. 'పూచిన మావులు' horses that have unlucky marks, కొరగానిమచ్చలుగల గుర్రములు.

(p. 941) macca matstsa. [Tel.] n. A mole, freckle, stain, scar or spot on the skin. పుట్టు మచ్చలు natural marks on the skin, birthmarks. మచ్చమాయు matstsa māyu. v. n. To be ruined or destroyed, నశించు. మచ్చుమాపు maṭsṭsa-māpu. v. a. To ruin, destroy. నీమచ్చ మాపుతానుచూడు look out. I will certainly ruin you. మచ్చము matstsamu. n. A mark, గురుతు.

(p. 976) māyu mayu. [Tel.] v. n. To become dirty or foul, to be unwashed, మలినమగు, మురికిఅగు. To perish, be destroyed, or effaced. లేకపోవు, నశించు. అదిమాసినది it is dirty. మాసినపాతలు dirty clothes. మచ్చలు మాసిపోయినవి the vestiges are destroyed, or effaced. వాని తలమాసినది his head is dirty, i.e., he is unshaven. తలమాసినవాడు a man of beggarly appearance. దానిచెరగుమాసినది she is menstruous. చుక్క కనుమాసిపోయినది the star faded away (at dawn.) మాసిన māsina. adj. Dirty, foul. మురికిగా నున్న. మాయు or మాయురె interj. Alas! ah! బళిరే, బాపురే. మాయించు or మాపు māyinṭsu. v. a. To do away with, abolish, annihilate. పోగొట్టు. 'తనదుగాంధర్వమాయ, నాదనుజవరుల మాయమాయించి.' T. v. 76.

(p. 1081) ruruvu ruruvu. [Skt.] n. A sort of spotted deer. నల్లచారలు తెల్లమచ్చలుగలదుప్పి.

(p. 1325) sāmudrikamu sāmudrikamu. [Skt. from సముద్రము.] adj. Belonging to the sea. n. Palmistry, the interpretation of spots on the body, and of lines in the hand. దేహములోనుండు మచ్చలను చేతిరేఖలనుచూచి అదృష్టమును చెప్పుశాస్త్రము. సాముద్రికుడు sāmudrikuḍu. n. One who knows palmistry, a palmister. ముచ్చలు రేఖలుచూచి అదృష్టము చెప్పువాడు.
