Stupidity, clownishness, rusticity. జడత్వము, మడ్డితనము. 'ఇది నాయదినాకేళీ సదనము నీకిందునిలువ జనునె దురాత్మా మదటతనముడిగియెందే కదలుము లెమ్మనిన.' P. iii. 108.

(p. 986) minuku or మిన్కు minuku. [Tel.] n. Glittering, flashing, brightness, తళుకు. A ray of light. కిరణము. A marriage token, తొలిబొట్టు. 'ఇమ్ము నీకంఠసూత్రమున నున్న మినుకైనశోకముడిగి. 'మదీయగళంబుననున్న మంగళ సూత్రంబుమినుకు పరపురుషులకెన్నడు లోచన గోచరంబుగాదు.' HN. v. 102. A small gold coin. చిన్న బంగారు నాణెము. మినుకులు or మిన్కులు minu-kulu. n. The sciences, the scriptures. విద్యలు, శాస్త్రములు, వేదములు. 'ఉడివోనిమిన్కులీనెడు పేరులిరుదెస.' Vasu. Pref. 7. టీ ఉడివోని మిన్కులు, వేదములు. మినుకుచేడియ minuku-chēḍiya. n. (p. 1000) muḍi muḍi. [Tel.] n. A knot. గ్రంధి. A knot of hair, వెండ్రుకలముడి. A knot or joint in wood, చెట్టులోనగువానిబుడిపి. The hump of an ox, ఎద్దు మూపురము. A quarrel, కలహము. A form of a letter written like a knot as మామిడి the letter ్మ నాముడి the letter ్న. తాముడి the secondary form of the letter త. i.e., ్త. An union, joining, సంధి. Also, another form of ముడ్డి. (q. v.) వాడు దానిని ముడిపెట్టుకొన్నాడు he tied the nuptial knot to her, he married her. ముళ్లుకత్తిరించేవాడు a pick-pocket. ఆమె తలముడి వీడినది her hair fell loose, the knot being untied. ముడివిప్పు to untie or open a knot. ఆ దారములో ముళ్లుపడ్డవి that string has formed into knots. ముడివక్కలు unbroken (or whole) areca nuts, గుంటపోకచెక్కలు. బొమలుముడిపెట్టు to knit the eye-brows. ఒకవ్యాజ్యమును ముడివేసి విడిచిపెట్టినాడు he cast a bone of dispute between them. 'పడంతిమది ముడిసడలన్.' Bhadra Parin. iii. 297. దాని మనసనేగ్రంధి వీడునప్పటికి. ముడి muḍi. adj. Closed, వికసింపని. Entire, whole, unbroken, ఖండముకాని. ముడిపూలు unblown flowers. 'ముడిపూలపొట్లముల్.' Illa. ii. 163. ముడి౛ొన్నలు the great millet enclosed in its husk. ముడినువ్వులు sesamum seeds which are not cleaned. ముడిపోక an entire areca nut. ముడిబియ్యము rice that is not well cleaned, చేబియ్యము. ముడికట్టు muḍi-kaṭṭu. n. Certain fees on a crop for the benefit of the landlord. A truss of straw, a sheaf. v. a. To tie a knot. To tie a knot in a man's cloth to remind him that you call upon him to be a witness. అందుగురించి పెద్దలు ముడికట్టినారు our anscestors have laid down this rule or held this doctrine. ముడికాడు muḍi-kāḍu. n. One who ties a knot, one who unites, సంధానముచేయువాడు. ముడికాళ్లు muḍi-kāḷḷu. n. Knock-knees. ముడికాళ్లవాడు a man who is knock-kneed. ముట్టికాళ్లవాడు. ముడికాళ్లది a woman who is knock-kneed. ముడికొక్కు muḍi-kokku. n. A weevil. నంగనాచి. ముడికొను, ముడిగొను or ముడిపడు muḍi-konu. v. n. To be tied in a knot. ముడికొన్న or ముడిగొన్న muḍi-konna. adj. Tied, bound. బద్ధమైన. 'ముడిగొన్న సంసారమోహబంధములు వెడదన్ని సుజ్ఞాని వెడలినమాడ్కి.' DRK. 372. ముడికొలుపు muḍi-kolupu. v. a. To cause to be tied in a knot. ముడిగిబ్బ muḍi-gibba. n. An ox, a bull, ఆబోతు. ముడిపంచె or ముడిబట్ట muḍi-panche. n. A plain cotton cloth without any coloured border. నెల్లాగుడ్డ. ముడిపడు or ముడిపడు muḍi-paḍu. v. n. To be tied in a knot, ముడిగలదియగు. To be united, సంధించు. To be entangled, పెనగొను. To be confounded, puzzled. చీకాకుపడు. 'ముడిపడెననియెడదంజిడి, ముడిపడకుడు.' N. vii. 312. 'మొగమున చీకట్లుముడివడ.' HD. ii. 1380. The act of being tied in a knot, &c., ముడిపడుట.

(p. 1041) moraṭu moraṭu. [Tel.] n. An obstinate fool. మూర్ఖుడు. 'మొరటులొగివిరక్తి మొనయర యాత్మకు.' Vēma. 1965. మొరటుతనము moratu-tanamu. n. Stubbornness. మూర్ఖత్వము. మొరడు or మొరటి moraḍu. adj. Hard, hardened, rough, knotty, stubborn. గడుసుపారిన, కఠినమైన, ముడిగానుండే. 'మొరడువంగిన సెట్టిముదుకకు.' P. iii. 193. టీ గడుసుపారిన, ముదిమిచేత ఆవనతుడైన. మొరడు. n. A block, a stump; a knot. మొద్దు, ముడి, మోడు. 'ముట్టుచాకిజేరు మొరడుకమ్మరిజేరు.' Vēma. 2084. మొరడుపారిన moraḍu-pārina. adj. Hard, grown hard by age, having the limbs contracted by disease. గడుసుపారిన, ముద్దలుకట్టుకొనిపోయిన.

(p. 1111) loṭṭi loṭṭi. [Tel.] n. The small earthen pot used in drawing toddy from the tree. చెట్టునకల్లునొడిచేకుండ. 'మొలచుట్టున్వడదోలు దాననగు బల్మోకావయిన్ గీతక, త్తులు మారేముసలంబు వామభుజమందుం గానికిర్వంకలన్, కలులొట్లొండెడ కట్లనిచ్చెన పిరుందం గొమ్మకాల్చందమున్. తలకోరాముడిగుడ్డయుం దవరప్రాతః కాలమందెప్పుడున్.' Chenn. v. 202. లొట్టిముచ్చు a drunkard, తాగుబోతు. లొట్టిపుండు loṭṭi-punḍu. n. A hollow sore, an ulcer, a sinus.

(p. 1171) viḍu viḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To separate, become loose, వీడు. To fall asunder, తనకుతానేవదలు, వీడిపోవు, విరిసిపోవు. 'నీళ్లమీదబుగ్గ నిలిచిన యప్పుడు తళ్లువేగవచ్చితాకుగాక, వడెడుకుండకింత విభ్రాంతిపడుదురు.' Vēma. 70. v. a. To relinquish, leave, quit, abandon, give up, loosen, untie, undo, let go, release, separate, త్యజించు, మానుకొను, వదలు, విచ్చు. విప్పు, వీడ్చు, విడుగడ or విడుగర viḍu-gaḍa. n. Release, liberation. విడుదల, విమోచనము. 'ఉర్రిద్రెవ్వగొరికి యిప్పుడ వెరవారగనేనునీకు విడగరనేయం దొరకొనుట నీదుభాగ్యం బరితత్వము దొరగిమైత్రియలవరపు మదిన్.' M. XII. iii. 207. 'అన్యదేశ్యునధర్మువిడుము.' A. iv. 257. విడుగు viḍugu. v. n. To blow or expand, as a flower, వికసించు. 'ముడిగెతొగలడగెరిక్కలు విడిగె పయోజమ్ములుడిగెవెన్నెల.' S. I. 164. విడదొక్కు or విడద్రొక్కు viḍa-dokku. v. a. To allot, set aside, grant, as land. విడిచు ఇచ్చు. ఆయూరికింద నాయూరి పొలములో కొంతభూమి విడదొక్కినారు they allotted some land from one village to that village. విడనాడు viḍa-n-āḍu. v. a. To cast off, desert, quit, relinquish, divorce. విడుచు, విడిచిపెట్టు, వదులు. 'కూళగూళమెచ్చు గుణవంతు విడనాడి.' Vēma. 1752. విడబడు or విడవడు viḍa-baḍu. v. n. To escape, get free, break loose, వీడు, విచ్చలవిడియగు, కట్టువదిలించుకొని నిరంకుశముగానుండు, తెగనుండి వేరుపడు. నిర్భందమునుండి తొలగు. To slip, ౛ోరు.' అతని మహోద్దండగజము, తన్ను దామరచి మదగ్రస్తయగుచు. కడదిమావంతుని బడఝూళిచేసి విడివడిదండెల్ల విరియ దోలుచును.' B. D. iv. 352. అది విడివడిమాట్లాడినది she shook off all shame and spoke.

(p. 1259) śōbha ṣōbha. [Skt.] n. Lustre, radiance, light, splendour, beauty. ప్రభ, కాంతి; సౌందర్యము. శోభకృత్తు ṣōbha-kṛittu n. The name of a year. శోభనము ṣōbhana-mu. adj. Auspicious, propitious; shining; handsome. మంగళమైన, ప్రకాశమానమైన, అందమైన. n. Happiness, good fortune. The consummation of a marriage. మంగళము, నిషేకము. శోభనముచేయు to finish or complete a marriage. శోభనములు ṣōbha-namulu. n. plu. Songs, each foot of which has the word శోభనే as a chorus, హారతిపాటలు. 'అక్కరతో సువ్వాలలుంశోభనములు ధవళాలున్ మొదలైన పాటలన్ దగనేర్పున్.' S. i. 483. శోభనాక్షతలు grains of raw rice, made yellow with turmeric and sprinkled on the heads of persons with a benediction on auspicious occasions. పసుపురాచిన ముక్కు విరగని బియ్యము. శౌభించు, శోభిల్లు or శోభిలు ṣōbhinṭsu. v. n. To shine, be splendid. ప్రకాశిమచు. శౌభితము ṣōbhitamu. adj. Beautified, decorated. అలంకరింపబడిన, విభూషితమైన. Bright, splendid. శోభితత్వము ṣōbhi-tatvamu. n. Splendor, lustre. ప్రకాశము, తేజస్సు. 'శోభి తత్వముడిగి.' M. XIII. iv. 402. శోభితుడు ṣōbhituḍu. n. One who is decorated, అలంకృతుడు. శోభితురాలు ṣōbhitu-r-ālu. n. She who is adorned. అలంకృతురాలు. కుంకుమశోభితురాలయిన మా అక్క my sister who is adorned with the red powder on her forehead.
