This is translated by the word 'That' or 'so' or the infinitive mood is used, as వారు అక్కడ ఉండినారని అన్నాడు he told me that they were there. అవతల వెళ్లరాదని తిరిగీ వస్తిమి we did not think it right to go on and returned; we thought we must not go further; so we came back. నన్ను పొమ్మని చెప్పెను he told me to go. తన సొమ్మని యెంచి considering it his own. దాన్ని నాకని కొన్నాడు he bought it for me. కావలెనని అక్కడికి పోయినాడు he went there on purpose. పండ్లను పటపటమని కొరికినాడు he gnashed his teeth. ఘమ్మని fragrantly. తళుక్కని brilliantly. గడగడమని మాట్లాడినాడు he spoke rapidly. ఈగలు జుమ్మని ముసురు కొన్నవి the flies covered it buzzingly. నీవు ఈ శాలువ కప్పుకొంటే గుమ్మని ఉండును if you wear this shawl it feels warm: or, you will feel warm.

(p. 522) tānu tānu. [Tel.] pron. (reflexive.) Self, one, oneself. (G. తన. D. తనకు. Acc. తన్ను. plu. తాము, తమరు. G. తమ.) తనకుతానె voluntarily, of itself, of his own accord. తమకుతామే they of themselves. తాను చెడ్డకోతి వనమెల్లచెరిచినది one good-for-nothing monkey ruins the whole garden. తననే చూచినారు తననే చూచినారు (B. viii. 421.) they beheld him himself. తన్ను కాదనియెంచును (Vēma) he will not see that he is the person in question. తన్నుంచిరానట్టితప్పుకలదె. (Ila. iii. 56.) is there any error that does not spring from one's own folly?

(p. 1130) vara vara. [Tel.] n. A limit. మేర. పర్యంతము. ఇదివరలో before this time. అదివరలో before that time. [for ఒర.] Kind, sort. ఈ వరబంగారు gold of this kind. A kind of grain, ధాన్యవిశేషము. వర (for ఒర.) n. A scabbard, a sheath. ఖడ్గకోశము. వరదూయు to unsheath or draw out of the scabbard. పోయినది వర ఉండేది కత్తియనియెంచు what we have lost is the mere sheath but what we have got is the very blade, i.e. he who is dead is nothing to his successor. వరకట్టు vara-katte. v. n. To test gold by rubbing it on a touchstone. Also, to prepare land for cultivation. వరగొడ్డము vara-goḍḍamu. (వర+గొడ్డము.) n. A crooked word, వంకరమాట. వరకు or వరకును vara-ku. postp. Until, as far as, పర్యంతము. ఇదివరకు until this. అదివరకు so far, until that time. ఆవరకే పారిపోయియుండిరి they had already fled. ఎంతవరకు to what extent? how far? ఆయన చనిపోయేవరకు up to the time of his death. నేను వచ్చేవరకు until I come. వర or ఒర vara. n. The large circular ring of pottery sunk in a small well, to prevent the earth from falling in. నూతికి పెట్టేవి.

(p. 1157) vārta vārta. [Skt.] n. Tidings, intelligence, news, talk, conversation, a report. వర్తమానము, వృత్తాంతము, మాట, సంభాషణ. వారు వెళ్లినాడన్న వార్త ఒకటే కాని వాడు నిజముగా వెళ్లలేదు the report is that he went, but in reality he did not go. 'కలలోనగన్న వార్తలకింతవలవంత కేమి కారణమనియెంచుకొంటి.' Anirudh. ii. 158. వార్తకాడు vārta-kāḍu. n. A talkative person. మాటకారి. 'నేర్తునన్న వారువార్తకాడు.' Vēma. 450. వార్తకెక్కు vārto-k-ekku. v. n. To obtain notoriety. ప్రసిద్ధినిపొందు. 'గువ్వకొరకుమేనుగోసిచ్చి శిబిరాజు వార్తకెక్కి చాలవన్నెకెక్కె.' Vēma. 289. వార్తలాడు vārtaḷ-āḍu. v. n. To talk, speak, converse. మాట్లాడు, సంభాషించు. వార్తావహుడు or వార్తికుడు vārtā-vahuḍu. n. A messenger, వెళ్లి వర్తమానమును తెలిసికొని పోయి చెప్పువాడు.
