The upright cross pieces of wood in a dooly or litter, that connect the bottom with the pole above. కత్తెరగడ్డము kattera-gaddamu. n. A cropped beard. కత్తెరగాయము kattera-gāyamu. n. A certain kind of window గవాక్ష విశేషము. కత్తెరచీల kattera-chīla. n. A pin on which a lever acts. మీట ఆడే చీల. కత్తెరదొంగ kattera-donga. n. A cut purse. కత్తెరబావిలీలు kattera-bāvilīlu. n. An ornament of gold and gems worn by women near the top of the ear. కత్తెరయెండ kattera-yeṇḍa. n. Fierce heat. కత్తెరరాయ kattera-rāyi. n. Marble; a kind of black stone, which is sonorous like metal. కత్తెరవాసములు kattera-vāsamulu. n. Bamboos arranged against each other like the blades of scissors.

(p. 785) peṇḍe or పెండెబద్ద penḍe. [Tel.] n. A lath or small rafter, commonly called a reaper, a strip of wood. ఇంటివాసములమీద అడ్డముగా వేసికట్టే కొయ్య. (p. 1073) rāṇi rāṇi. [from Skt. రాజ్ఞి.] n. A queen, రా౛ుభార్య. A wife, భార్య. రాణివాసము rāṇi-vāsamu. n. The female apartments, the queen's house, a zenana. అంతఃపురము. 'క్షోణీనాధులరాణివాసములు చక్షుఃకాతుకాపాదినిశ్రేణీలాలిత హర్మ్యవాటికల.' HN. iv. 64. రాణివాసి or రాణివాసము rāṇi-vāsi. n. A gosha lady, a lady. అంతఃపురస్త్రీ. A wife, భార్య.

(p. 1116) vaṅgu vangu. [Tel.] v. n. To bend, bow, stoop. To become crooked. To become low or humble. వంగు, ఒరుగు, నమ్రమగు. ఒళ్లువంగిపనిచేయు to work hard. ఒళ్లువంగనివాడు one who does not choose to bend his back, a lazy man. వంగదీయు vanga-dīyu. v. a. To bend, bow down. వంచు. వంగుడు vanguḍu. n. A crack, బీటిక. An excrescence, స్ఫోటము. వంగుళ్లు drippings of the eaves. వానవెలిసిన తర్వాత బొట్టుబొట్టుగా పడుచుండేనీళ్లు. 'దవుల జల్లనితూరవంతక మునుపటి, జల్లునీరూనివచ్చునజ్జల్లు మొదలి, గాలియెలగోలుచేకొమ్మగదలిజల్లు. దలపడకమున్న వంగుళ్లదడిపెదరులు.' A. iv. 169. వంగులు vangulu. n. plu. The ribs or bends of a boat. పడవలోని అడ్డవాసములు.

(p. 1131) varaṭa varaṭa. [Skt.] n. A goose. A female swan. ఆడుహంస. Vasu. ii. 84. వరట [Tel.] n. A lump of dried cowdung. ఎండిన పేడచెక్క. వరటు varaṭu. v. n. To pine, to become lean or lank. శుష్కించు. 'జశరాగ్నివెల్లనుచల్లార్చి మిక్కిలివరటినాడు మహోపవాసములను.' Kuchēlo. i. 38. వరటినాడు = కృశించినాడు. 'మిగులవరటున్న' = మిక్కిలి శుష్కించియున్న. ib. iii. 10.

(p. 1160) vāsamu or వాస vāsamu. [Tel.] n. A rafter of a building. ఇంటిశ్రేణుల మీదవేసెడిది. నాగవాసము the hook that suspends a swinging cot. వాసపుబియ్యము grains of gum found inside a hollow bamboo. వాసపోయు vāsa-pōyu. v. a. To place the rafters on a building, to rafter it. ఇంటిపైకప్పునకువాసములుకట్టు, వాసాలుపరచు. పెండెకట్టు.

(p. 1160) vāsamu vāsamu. [Skt.] n. A house, habitation, abode, dwelling, residence. గృహము. ఆయన మమ్మును తన గర్భవాసములో పెట్టుకొనియుండినాడు he kept us in his bosom, i.e., we were in his protection. వాని గర్భవాసములో పుట్టినాడు the son of his own body, his son. 'కోసలోత్తరాది వాససతులు.' Kala. i. 152. వాసము or వాసస్సు n. A cloth: clothes. వస్త్రము. వాసకము vāsakamu. n. A house, ఇల్లు. నాసగృహము vāsa-gṛihamu. n. A bed chamber, పడకయిల్లు.
