To know, be aware of, to understand. తెలిసికొను, గ్రహించు. వాడు దానిని ఎరిగి చేసినాడు he did it on purpose or intentionally, or ఎరుగక చేసిరి they did it unintentionally ఉపకారము ఎరిగినవారై being grateful, feeling one's kindness. మీరు ఎరిగియుండవలసినది I call upon you to be witness or to observe this. సత్తువయెరిగి లంకణముకట్టవలసినది let the patient be kept fasting in proportion to this strength. ఎరుగని ignorant, innocent. దేహమెరుగక being stupified, or insensible. ఎరుగవా don't you know? ఎరుగను I do not know. మేము కుడిచెయ్యి ఎడమచెయ్యి యెరుగనివారమై as we are such simple people that we do not know our right hand from our left నేను బుద్ధి యెరుగకమునుపే when I was an infant, before I knew anything. ఎరిగితెచ్చుట గాని యెరుగక కాదు I was well aware of what I was bringing: I did not bring it unknowingly. పాటు యెరుగని భాగ్యము fortune that knows no decline. ఎరుగమి erugami. n. (p. 236) kaḍupu or కడ్పు kaḍupu. [Tel.] n. The belly or stomach. వాని కడుపు కాలుచున్నది he is very hungry; కడుపు కట్టుకొను to stint oneself, restrain one's appetite. కడుపుమంట heart burning, malice, envy. ఓర్వలేమి, ఈర్ష్య. వాని కడుపులోని మాట the thoughts of his heart. నన్ను కడుపులో పెట్టుకొని పెంచెను he reared me tenderly. కడుపుతోనుండు to be pregnant or with child. కడుపుదిగినది she had a miscarriage. కడుపుదించు to effect miscarriage, to cause an abortion. పరకడుపు an empty or fasting stomach. పొత్తికడుగు an empty or fasting stomach. పొత్తికడుపు the abdomen. కడుపు చల్లగా నుండుట to be happy or blessed. కాడువునోపి belly ahe, stomach ache. కడుపూద. (కడుపు+ఊద.) a cattle disease in which the belly is bloated; also, envy ఓర్వలేనితనము, ఈర్ష్య.

With, together with, accompanied by, accompanying or following. కూడా, వెంబడి. వానిని కత్తితో పొడిచెను he stabbed him with a knife. నాతో చెప్పు tell me. జ్వరముతో నున్నాడు he is in a fever. ఉపవాసముతో నున్నారు they are fasting. సంకటముతో నుండే diseased, sick. నున్న దయతో చూడుము look on me with favour. చమురుగలుగుదివ్వె సరవితో మండును a lamp that has oil burns with clearness. Vēma. i. 43. అతనితో మనవిచేస్తిని I represented this to him. చీకటితో లేచి వెళ్లినారు they set out in the dark, i.e., before dawn.

(p. 669) nuṅku nunku. [Tel.] n. A fast, fasting, పస్తు, ఉపవాసము.

(p. 684) nōcu nōṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To perform a meritorious act, as fasting. To undertake a vow. వ్రతమాచరించు. నోత nōta. n. The act of undertaking a vow, నోచుట. వ్రతమాచరించుట. నోము nōmu. [Tel.] n. A vow. వ్రతము. v. a. To vow, వ్రతము పూను. To lose, పోగొట్టు. వాడును వాని తండ్రియును ఒకటే నోమునోచినారు he and his father had the same fortune. నోముదారము Same as తోరము. (q.v.)

(p. 712) paragaḍupu para-gaḍupu. [Tel. పరము+కడుపు.] n. An empty belly. Fasting. పరగడుపున ఔషధము పుచ్చుకోవలెను it is proper to take medicine fasting or on an empty stomach.

(p. 731) pastu pastu. [Tel.] n. A fast, fasting, a starved condition, starving. ఉపవాసము, ఉపాసము. పస్తుండు or పస్తుగానుండు past-unḍu. v. n. To be fasting or starving.

Frequently, for the most part. బహుశా. ప్రాయశ్చిత్తము prāyaṣ -chittamu. n. Expiation, propitiation, penance, absolution, recompense, retribution, పాపరిహారముకొరకు చేయుకర్మము. జీవప్రాయశ్చిత్తము certain expiatory ceremonies performed over a dying person. తనకొమారునికి ప్రాయశ్చిత్తము చేయించినాడు he had his son purified by expiatory rites. ప్రాయోపవేశము or ప్రాణాచారము prāy-ōpavēṣamu. n. Fasting in order to die, starving to death voluntarily. పస్తుపడియుండి ప్రాణమును విడిచిపెట్టడమనేవ్రతము. ప్రాయోపవేశముచేయు or ప్రాణాచారముచేయు prāy-opavēṣamu-chēyu v. n. To meet death by fasting in fulfilment of a vow.

(p. 1255) śuṣkamu ṣushkamu. [Skt.] adj. Dry, dried. ఎండిన. Mere, groundless, causeless, unprofitable. వట్టి, కేవలము. శుష్కాన్నము dry bread. శుష్కోపచారములు empty flattery, mere compliments. శుష్కదరిద్రుడు one who is utterly poor, a mere beggar. శుష్కవైరము groundless enmity, mere spite. శుష్కరోదనము mere weeping. శుష్కోపవాసము entire fasting. శుష్కించు ṣushkinṭsu. v. n.
