BD. v. 319 సిరా అద్దుము blot the ink. కండ్లను అద్దుకొనుము press it to the eyes as a mark of respect. అద్దుముద్దు n. Sport, play. బిడ్డ యొక్క చేష్టలు. ఆ బిడ్డ యొక్క అద్దు ముద్దు చూడక చచ్చినాడు he died without seeing the child play.

(p. 163) upākarmamu upā-karmamu. [Skt.] n. A rite celebrated by Brahmins on the full moon in the month Sravanam (July, August:) they imagine that this blots out all the sins of the past year, and they put on new threads. సంస్కార పూర్వకముగా వేదమును గ్రహించుట.

(p. 210) ottu ottu. [Tel.] v. n. To give way, yield. retire, recede. To be pierced or poked పొడుచుకొను. To lean on one side ఒరుగు. To become heavy ఘనమగు. ఒత్తు ottu. v. a. To press, or squeeze. అదుము, విసుకు. To dry or wipe, to wipe off (sweat), to blot. తుడుచు. To cut or break with teeth or nippers. పోకొత్తు. To thrust away. renounce, cast off త్రోయు. To aspirate a letter. ఆ అక్షరమును బాగా ఒత్తు you must aspirate that letter. To blow as a conch ఊదు. To oppress, బలాత్కరించు.

(p. 446) cādu ṭsādu. [Tel.] v. a. To macerate, to triturate in water. n. A black colour made by burning rice; discoloration, darkness of the skin, a black spot placed on the forehead. ఎండుచాదు a dark blotch. Vasu. ii. 57. In A. v. 133. కట్టెచాదు the juice that comes out of a log at one end when the other end is burning. శుష్కము దగ్ధమయ్యే టప్పుడు చుంయిమని బయిలుదేరేనీరు. చాదిక or చాదుచుక్క ṭsādika. n. A spot, mark, patch. A blotch.

(p. 537) tuḍucu or తుడ్చు tuḍuṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To wipe away (as water or tears.) To blot తడిపోవనొత్తు. To sweep ఊడ్చు. తుడుపు tuḍupu. n. Rubbing, wiping, smearing, blotting, erasure, తుడుచుట. cf. 'ఎగదుడుపు దిగదుడుపు.' తుడుపుబల్ల a wooden plank with which salt is collected into a heap.

(p. 573) tvakku or త్వచము tvakku. [Skt.] n. Skin. తోలు. Rind, bark, husk, coat. చెట్టుపట్ట, నార. త్వక్పుష్పము a cutaneous eruption, a blotch, a scab.

(p. 672) nusulu or నుసలు nusulu. [Tel.] v. a. To stretch the body in or after sleep. ఒళ్లు విరుచుకొను. v. n. To stir, మెదలు. To delay, ఆలస్యముచేయు. To undertake, పూను. మైనుసులుచు stretching oneself. 'వ్యసనములనుదగిలి మసలబోక.' Vēma. iii. 35, నొసల వ్రాయువ్రాత నుసిలితే పోవునా? will mere rubbing your forehead blot out your destiny? Vēma. 1796. 'చ వెరవున నంగముల్ నుసులువ్రేటుల వమ్మగదాకి.' M. (p. 748) pāvanamu pāvanamu. [Skt.] adj. Pure, clean, purifying, holy. పవిత్రము. నేడు సుదినము నా జన్మము పావనమాయెను this happy day blots out all my sins: (a common phrase of joy.) పరముకన్ననేమి పావనమాసోమ్ము is wealth any object in comparison with heaven? పరమపావనీ O most holy One! పావనముచేయు to purify. ఆయన ఈ రాజ్యమును పావనముచేసెను he reformed this realm. n. Penance, purification. ప్రాయశ్చిత్తము. Water. జలము. A vow, వ్రతము. 'పావనశయవారిజాతముల భవ్యగణార్చలొనర్చు నిత్యమున్.' Chenn. v. 264. పావనశయమనగా, జలాశయము. పావని pāvani. [from పవనము, wind.] n. A name of Hanuman or Bhīma. R. vi. 67. A pure or holy woman, పవిత్రురాలు. పావనుడు pāvanudu. n. The purifier: an epithet of Agni, the god of fire. పరకుపావనుడు the all-holy one.

Killed, slain, defeated, struck, hit, destroyed, blasted, blotted out. చంపబడ్డ, కొట్టబడ్డ, నాశము చేయబడ్డ, ధ్వంసము చేయబడ్డ, చెరుపబడ్డ, పోగొట్టబడ్డ. హతశేషులు the survivors. హతశ్రీ having lost fortune, ruined. n. Ruin, destruction, killing, నాశనము, సంహారము. హతముచేయు hatamu-chēyu. v. a. To kill, destroy, demolish. నాశముచేయు, సంహారము చేయు. హతహతముగా, హతహతములుగా or హతాహతముగా hata-hatamu-gā. adv. Destructively, violently, outrageously. ధ్వసమయ్యేటట్టుగా, అఘోరముగా.' హతహతములు గాగ పోటులాడున్ బళువుల్.' G. vii. 84. 'అని తరుగముసెక్కియంత వేగమున, అశ్వంబుదోలెను హతహతముగాను.' Pal. 496. హతాశుడు hat-āṣuḍu. n. He who is disappointed. విఫలమైన కోరికగలవాడు. హతాహతము hatā-hatamu. n. Destruction, violent contention. ధ్వంసము, మహత్తైనజగడము. హతి hati. n. Striking, smiting, a blow. కొట్టడము, దెబ్బ. 'విషాణహతిచే.' P. i. 241. హతుడు hatuḍu. n. One who has been struck, smitten, destroyed, or killed, One who is void of, or bereft of. కొట్టబడ్డవాడు, చంపబడ్డవాడు, విహీనుడు.
