An act of beneficence, as digging a well or tank, planting a grove, building a temple, feeding the poor, &c. Nourishing, cherishing. పాలనము.

(p. 818) pōta pōta. [Tel. from పోయు.] n. Pouring, పోయుట. Casting, as of melted metal. Bathing, washing. Eruption of the small pox. ఆకుపోత putting plants into the ground. పెట్టుపోతలు శాశ్వతములుకావు meat and drink (literally, feeding and bathing) are not matters of eternal consequence. పోత pōta. adj. Molten, cast in metal. పోతచెంబు a metal bottle or jug, which has been cast not hammered.

(p. 852) prōcu prōṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To nourish, support, maintain, protect, preserve, save. అన్నోదకములిచ్చి పోషించి, రక్షించు. ప్రోవుతన్ O may he bless! రక్షించుగాక. ప్రోచికోలు or పోచికోలు prōchi-kōlu. n. The act of feeding, bringing up a cow or other animal, బలహీనత్వమునుపొందిన ఆవు మొదలగు జంతువులను కాపాడి అనుభవించు. వానికి ఆ యావును పాచికోలుగా ఇచ్చినాడు he gave him the cow to feed and enjoy its milk. adj. Useless, వ్యర్థము. గడ్డిపోచయు ప్రోచికోలుకాదు even a blade of grass is not useless.

Dregs, lees, sediment మడ్డి స్తంభము a pole or mast smeared with lees, up which boys climb, on festival days, for prizes places on the top. ఆముదపుమడ్డి the dregs of castor-oil. adj. Foul, dull, stupid, awkward, clumsy. మడ్డియెరుపు a dull red. మడ్డితిండి foul feeding. మడ్డినిద్ర deathlike sleep, dead sleep. వాడు వట్టిమడ్డి he is a blockhead. మడ్డికాగితము maḍḍi-kāgitamu. n.
