Joined, combined. ఏకదీక్షగా unintermittingly, incessantly. ఏకముగా all at once, unitedly. ఏకతిరగడము ceaseless roaming. అతడు ఏకరీతిని ఉండే మనిషి he is a regular or steady person. రాత్రి యేకముగా మెరిసినది it lightened incessantly all night. ఏకము చేయు ēkamu-chēyu. v. a. To make one, unite, gather together. ఏకకాలంబున at one time, simultaneously. ఏకకాలీనుడు ēka-kālīnuḍu. n. A contemporary. వారున్ను వీరున్ను ఏకకాలీనులైనందున as these men were contemporaries: ఏకకుండలుడు ēka-kuṇḍaluḍu. [lit. Having one earring] n. An epithet of Kubera. ఏకగర్భజనితులు ēka-garbha-janitulu. adj. Uterine, of the full blood. అతడున్ను నేనున్ను ఏకగర్భజనితులము గనుక as he and I are sons of the same parents or uterine brothers. ఏకగ్రీవము ēka-grīvamu. adj. Unanimous, joint. ఏకగ్రీవముగా unanimously, jointly. ఏకచక్రాధిపతి, or ఏకఛత్రాధిపతి ēka-chakrādhipati. n. A sole ruler, an absolute monarch. ఏకచింత one sole or engrossing thought or pursuit. ఏకనిష్ఠగా ēka-nishṭha-gā. adv. With a single eye or intent, resolutely, faithfully, thoroughly, downright. ఏకపత్నీవ్రతుడు ēka-patnī-vratuḍu. n. A monogamist, a man with one wife. ఏకబోగ్రామము ēka-bhōga-grāmamu. n. A village held by one owner, or tenant. ఏకమనస్కులై ēka-manaṣkulai. adv. With fixed attention, with a single heart. అందరు ఏకమైన నా మీద పడ్డారు they fell upon me in a body. ఏకవర్ణముగానున్నది it is all of one sort or colour. భువనేకసుందరి an unrivalled beauty. ఏకశిలానగరము ēka-ṣilā-nagaramu. n. (lit. One stone-town.) A town built near a single rock or hill. The Skt. translation of ఒరంగల్లు Warungul a town in the Nizam's Territories. ఏకాధిష్ఠతము ēkā-dishṭhitamu. adj. In one hand: in one person's sole power. M. I. ii. 200.

An emperor or sovereign. రారాజు, సార్వభౌముడు. చక్రవర్తిని chakra-vartini. n. An empress. సార్వభౌమురాలు. చక్రవాకము chakra-vākamu. n. The Brahminy-duck or Ruddy Casarca rotila (F.B.I.) జక్కవపక్షి. The poetical swan, always described as being in pairs, to which poets liken fair breasts. చక్రవాళము chakravāḷamu. n. A range of mountains supposed to encircle the earth. చుట్టుకొండ. చక్రవృద్ధి chakra-vṛiddhi. n. Compound interest వడ్డికివడ్డి. చక్రాంకనము or చక్రాంకితములు or చక్రాంకములు chakrānkanamu. n. Marks branded on the front of the shoulders, representing the disc and shell of Vishṇu. (It is a rite similar to absolution.) చక్రాంగము chakrāngamu. n. A swan. హంస. చక్రాంగి a female swan. చక్రి chakri. n. The discus-wielder, i.e., Vishṇu. A snake, because rolled in a ring. A potter, because using a wheel.

(p. 409) cinta chinta. [Skt.] n. Reflection, thought, wish, musing, consideration, recollection, care, sorrow, pity, grief. చింతలేదు never mind, no matter. చింతకుడు chintakuḍu. n. He who thinks or ponders. చింతించువాడు. చింతన chintana. n. Thinking over. Reiteration, పలుమారుతలచుట. చింతన చెప్పు to reiterate. చింతనలు investigations, enquiries. చింతనము chintanamu. n. Thought, reflection, study of a book, Reiteration. చింతనీయము or చింత్యము fit to be considered or thought over. చింతాక్రాంతుడు chintā-krāntuḍu. adj. Grieved, sorrowful, swallowed up with grief. చింతామణి chintā-maṇi. n. The wishing stone, a fabulous gem or magic ruby, imagined to yield its possessor all that he wishes. The name of a certain kind of pill. The term is metaphorically used in the titles of many books and may there be explained as a 'key, analysis, essay, or treatise.' Thus the ఆంధ్రభాషాచింతామణి is a Key to the Telugu language. వైద్య చింతామణి a key to Pharmacy. చింతించు, చింతిల్లు or చింతలు chintinṭsu. v. n. To think on, to muse, to ponder, to reflect. To be sorry for, to regret, to grieve or be afflicted వగచు. చింతితము chintitamu. adj. Mused on, considered.

(p. 1059) r ra. [Tel.] n. The letter R, called రేఫ repha, or రకారము ra-kāramu. When it is a subjunct letter, it is written underneath and shaped, thus, ్ర or L, and is called krāvaṭi క్రావడి or క్రారవడి krāravaṭi; thus, కర్ర karra, వక రము rakramu. In many Telugu words this r is used optionally after the initial, as in మాను, పక్క, కింద, తోవ, సుక్కు which are, in bookish Telugu, written మ్రాను ప్రక్క.క్రింద. త్రోవ. స్రుక్కు respectively. The letter ర is sometimes inserted to prevent elision, as పొదరిల్లు, గంగిరెద్దు, బొమ్మరిల్లు, ఉస్సురనుచు. ర in prosody, stands, for రగణము, a foot composed of a short between two long syllables.

(p. 1177) viniṣṭrāntamu vi-nishkrāntamu. [Skt. వి+నిష్ట్రాంతు.] adj. Going out, setting out. బయలువెడలిన. 'మరియువిష్ణుపాద వినిష్ట్రాంతయు శశాంకకమండలప్లావయునైన యాకాశగంగ.' Vish. iii. 37.

(p. 1195) viṣṇuḍu or విష్ణువు vishṇuḍu. [Skt.] n. Vishnu, one of the three principal Hindu deities. విష్ణుపదము vishṇu-pada-mu. n. The sky. ఆకాశము. విష్ణుపది vishnu-padi. n. The passage of the sun or planetary body from one sign of the zodiac into another. సూర్యాది గ్రహములు ఒకరాశిని విడిచి మరియొక రాశికి పోవడము. సంక్రమించు san-kraminṭsu. v. a. To encroach on, ఆక్రమించు. To enter, ప్రవేశించు. సంక్రాంతి san-krānti. n. The transit of the sun or a planetary body from one sing of the zodiac into another; particularly applied to the passage of the sun from Sagittarius to Capricornus in January when the Hindus celebrate the Pongal (పొంగలి) feast సూర్యాదిగ్రహములు ఒక రాశిలోనుండి మరియొక రాశికి పోవడము, ముఖ్యముగా సూర్యుడు మకరములో ప్రవేశించేది మకరసంక్రాంతి.
