(p. 530) tiru tiru. [A Tamil word for Skt. శ్రీ.] adj. Blessed or holy. (This is used in a variety of ways by Vaishṇavites.) తిరుకాపు tiru-kāpu. n. Adorning the god. దేవతనలంకరించుట. తిరుకొలను a sacred tank, పుష్కరిణి. తిరుచూర్ణము the sacred powder used to mark the forehead by the Vaishṇavites, శ్రీచూర్ణము, తిరునామము, వైష్ణవబొట్టు. తిరుమణి [మణి = మన్ను] the sacred earth, a kind of white clay used in making the sectarian mark (నామము). తిరుపగూడ a small basket in which the తిరుమణి and other things are kept. తిరుపతి tiru-pati. n. A town, Tripati తిరుమల. తిరుమజ్జినము tiru-majjanamu. n. The sacred bath given to an idol. దేవతాభిషేకము. తిరుమన్ను same as తిరుమణి. తిరుమాళిగ tiru-māḷiga. n. A Vaishṇavite's word for a house (వైష్ణవపరిభాష యందు) గృహము.

(p. 980) māḷiga māḷiga. [Tel.] n. A house, abode. dwelling. ఇల్లు. నేలమాళిగ a subterranean chamber. తిరుమాళిగ a phrase among Vaishnavas for a house: lit. a blessed tabernacle.

(p. 1305) sammāḷigalu or సంబాళిగలు sam-māḷigalu. [from Skt.] n. plu. Sandals. పావుకోళ్లు. Shoes, పాపోసులు, పట్టుసమ్మాళిగలు silk shoes. 'సీ అట్టిట్టుదొడిగినయం ఘ్రల రత్నంపుసమ్మాళి గలలుసారెజారుచుండ.' KP. ii. 23. See సంబాళిగలు.

(p. 1342) sumāḷamu sumāḷamu. [Tel.] n. Mirth, joy, gaiety, elation, అత్యుత్సాహము, సుఖము. 'సామాన్యమానవులంగైకొనక సుమాళంబు వేద్యంబుగా.' A. iv. 44. టీ మనోభావము. సుమాళి sumāḷi. n. One who is elated with joy. సంతో షముతో ఉప్పొంగువాడు. నుమాళించు sumāḷ-inṭsu.v. n. To leap for joy.' ఉల్లాసముచేత గంతులుయు 'తే గీ తన్నుగని సుమాళించుధవు నిహృదయ, నవమయూరము చెలరేగి నాట్యమాడె.' KP. vii. 202.
