The tip of an arrow, the blade of a sword. పరీవాహము, చెరువునకు నీరెక్కువైనపుడు అది పోవుట కేర్పరచినదారి; బాణము యొక్క కొనకు వేసే యినుప ముక్క, కత్తిపిడికిపైని ఉక్కు తునుక. 'కజ్జలాన్విత ధూమాసిత రేఖపై యలుగుగా విజ్ఞాన దీపాంకురాకృతి.' A pref. 7.

(p. 165) uppoṅgu up-pongu. [Tel. ఉబ్బి+పొంగు] v. n. To swell, burst forth, overflow, to be transported with joy. మిక్కిలి సంతోషించు.

(p. 170) ulbaṇamu ulbaṇamu. [Skt.] n. Excess, increase. అతిశయము. పైత్యోల్బణము excess of bile. ఉల్బణము ulbaṇamu. adj. Apparent, evident. Gushing, overflowing. పొంగిన, స్పష్టమైన. రసోల్బణముగా with over-flowing affection.

(p. 176) ūru ūru. [Tel.] v. n. To be full, steeped or soaked. To be puffed or fat. To increase or grow great. To exude, leak out, coze, or spring as water. To overflow as feelings. To take effect as a medicine. నోరూరుట the mouth watering. ఊరబెట్టిన చెక్క timber left to steep or steam so as to be seasoned. తేటలూరగా full of light. ఊరుగాయ or ఊరగాయ ūru-gāya. n. A pickled fruit, a pickle. ఊరుబిండి ūru-biṇḍi. n. A paste or chutney (used as sauce,) of fried grain and chillies. మోదములూర with overflowing love.

(p. 215) oluku oluku. [Tel.] v. n. To spill, చించు; overflow, to be shed (as tears) or spilt; to flow కారు; To be dropped, పాలలో నెయ్యి ఒలికినట్లు as ghee gushes forth from milk, i.e., luck upon luck. v. a. To sprinkle చల్లు; to pour పోయు.

To cause to go out of the way. తొలగించు.

(p. 562) toluku toluku. [Tel.] v. n. To rain. వర్షించు, కురియు. తొలుమొగలు (తొలుకు+మొగులు.) a raining cloud వర్షించుచున్నమేఘము. To burst forth, overflow, be emitted (as flames, tears, rays, sweat, &c.) తొలుకు నవ్వు a smile playing or beaming over the countenance.

(p. 565) tōdōpulu tō-dōpulu. [Tel. తోపు+తోపు.] n. Exultation, pushing forward. తోదోపులుమీరి in an increasing struggle; ప్రజ విస్తారమువచ్చినది గనుక తోదోపులు నేడు అధికము a great crowd of people came, so to-day there is great excitement. తోదోపులాడు or తోద్రోపులాడు tō-dōpu-l-āḍu. v. n. To overflow or burst forth as the feelings. 'ఆ పొలతివలపు తలపునడాపక తోడ్రోపులాడుటయు.' T. ii. 100. టీ పైపైకి తోనుకొనివచ్చుట.

(p. 609) daivāru daivāru. [Tel.] v. n. To excel, be exuberant. ఒప్పు, ప్రకాశించు, వెలుగు. To overflow, పొరలిపారు. 'తనయుని బిలిచి పలికె దయదైవారన్.' T. i. 39.

(p. 800) poṅgu pongu. [Tel.] v. n. To effervesce; to boil or bubble up, overflow, boil over. To swell. To forment. To exult, to be overjoyed, elated, to be in ecstasy. సంతోషించు. To become proud, గర్వించు. పొంగి బోర్లపడు to boil over with pride or delight. ఎండచేత కండ్లు పొంగినవి the eyes are inflamed by the glare. పొంగునీళ్లు boiling water. పొంగు pongu. n. Effervescence, boiling or bubbling up, overflowing. Excess of joy. సంతోషము. Pride, గర్వము. Eruption of the measles. Boiling water in which rice is to be cooked, ఎసరుకాగిననీళ్లు, చిట్టుడుకునీళ్లు. ఎసరుపొంగి పోతున్నది the water is boiling over. నీ పొంగుకుంగ may your pride perish. ఇదియేమి చూచుకొన్న పొంగు on what do you pride yourself? పొంగులక్షణము symptoms of an eruption of measles. పొంగుప్రాలు pongu-prālu. n. A sort of grain. పొంగలించు pongalinṭsu. v. n. To stand erect; to be proud, నిక్కు. పొంగారు pong-āru. (పొంగు+ఆరు.) v. n. To be full, నిండారు., To swell out, ఉబుకు. To rejoice, సంతోషించు. To excel, to be proud, అతిశయించు, విజృంభించు, నిక్కు 'తూర్యములపటుధ్వాన మడరినింగి పొంగారె నత్యంత నిశ్చలంబులయ్యె సైనికినికరంబులద్భుతముగ.' M. VIII. iii. 273. పొంగించు ponginṭsu. To boil. To delight, to please much. చేరెడుబియ్యము పొంగించుకొనినాడు he boiled a handful of rice.

(p. 811) poralu , పొర్లు, పొరలాడు, పొర్లాడు, పొరలబడు or పొర్లబడు poralu. [Tel.] v. n. To roll over, to roll on the ground; to wallow. To be in excess, to over-flow. To continue, ప్రవర్తిల్లు.' యదూద్వహుండు పుష్పతల్పంబుపై జేరి పొరలుచుండు.' Pal. 233. 'పురహరుడు మున్ను, సాధింపవచ్చిన చందమున నేడు, పొరలినకోపమున పొంగుచున్నాడు.' To wish, long for, like, కోరు, ఇచ్ఛించు.' సుస్థిరభుజశక్తి నైదుపదిసేయరు దత్తినతక్క మట్టి కై, పొరలరధీ శుడీకమలబుద్ధి కళూరిక దక్క.' A. ii. 39. టీ మట్టికై, భూమికై, పొరలరు, అభిలషింపరు. To be crossed or covered, as a cow. ఆవుపొర్లినతర్వాత after the cow was crossed. మాటపొర్లవద్దు do not break your word. ఆ కల్లుకుండ పొర్లిపొర్లి ఉన్నది the toddy pot is overflowing. పొరలు, పొరలిక, పొర్లిక or పొరలాట n. Rolling over or over flowing. పొరలుదండము a bow or salutation made while rolling on the ground. పొరలుపెట్టు Same as పొరలు. పొర్లుకట్ట porlu-kaṭṭa. n. A bank or bund raised to prevent water from overflowing. పొరలించు, పొర్లించు, పొరలుచు or పొరల్చు poralinṭsu. v. a. To roll. To turn over. మాటపొర్లించినాడు he changed his statement or prevaricated.

(p. 1020) meṇḍu menḍu. [Tel.] n. Abundance, excess. ఆధిక్యము, అతిశయము. కల్లపసిండికి కాంతిమెండు tinsel is abundantly bright, false gold glitters finely. adj. Much, abundant, అధికము. మెండుకొను menḍu-konu. v. n. To abound, exceed, redound, overflow; to grow, swell. అతిశయించు, నిండుకొను, అధికమగు. 'మెండుకొనుమీంకృతులు.' Anirud. iv. 61. మెండుకొలుపు menḍu-kolupu. v. a. To cause to abound. మెండుగా menḍu-gā. adv. Much, excessively, greatly. మెండొడ్డు menḍ-oḍḍu. v. n. To rebel. ఎదిరించు, ఆలస్యముచేయు. 'మాటిమాటికిమగనితో మెండొడ్డి చలపాదితనమున నలిగియుండు.' T. iv.35.
