(p. 622) dhāri dhāri. [Skt. from ధరించు.] n. One who bears or carries. ధరించువాడు, ధరించునది. విషధారి poisonous, venemous; one who carries a poison, విషమును ధరించినవాడు. ధారుడు dhārudu. n. A bearer, carrier, supporter.

(p. 754) piḍikeḍu piḍik-eḍu. n. A handful, as much as can be held in the closed fist. 'ఎరుకపిడికెడు ధనము' (a proverb) acquaintance is a handful of money. పిడికోల piḍi-kōla. n. The handle of a plough staff, నాగేలులోనగువాని మేడి. పిడిగంట piḍi-ganṭa. n. A bell with a long handle. పిడిగుద్దులు piḍi-guddulu. n. Blows. పిడిగొట్టు piḍi-goṭṭu. v. a. To geld, as an animal. Literally, to strike the handle (of a chisel, &c., which is placed on the testicle.) ఎద్దువట్టలుకొట్టు, పిచ్చలుతీయు. పిడిపిప్పెడాకు piḍi-pippeḍ-āku. n. An acrid gummy weed, poisonous to sheep, also called వెగటజిగురు or గాడిదెగడపర. పిడిమూర piḍi-mūra. n. The distance between the elbow and the closed fist. పిడియము or పిడెము piḍiyamu. n. A dagger, బాకు. పిడివాటు piḍi-vāṭu. n. Taking sheaves of corn up in the hand and beating out the grain from them. An agreement, ఒడంబడిక. పిడివాటుచీటి a note or letter which parties write to each other after an agreement. పిడివాదము piḍi-vādamu. n. Obstinacy, మూర్ఖము. పిడివేయు piḍi-vēyu. v. n. To put a handle on to anything. పిడిసాన piḍi-sāna. n. An anger, a drill. బరమా పిడిసి or పిడినె piḍisi. n. A Rose colored Pastor or Cholum Bird. 'పిడిసెలు చేనిమీద నొకబిస్సునవాలగజూచి.' Sri Natha.

(p. 771) purikolupu puri-kolupu. v. a. To spur on, move, instigate, incite, stir up, rally. మొనయు, ప్రేరేపించు, ఎచ్చరించు, నూలుకొలుపు, పుల్లలుపెట్టు. పురికొస puri-kosa. n. A large poisonous spider or tarantula. Also, a rough kind of twine. పురిగట్టిన puri-gaṭṭina. part. Strong, vigorous. పురిపెట్టు puri-peṭṭu. v. a. To twine or twist. పురియెక్కించు puri-y-ekkinṭsu. v. a. To incite. పురివిచ్చు puri-vitsṭsu. v. a. To untwist or unravel a thread. v. n. To separate, withdraw, retreat. వేరగు, వీడిపోవు. పురులోము puru-lōmu. (పురులు+ఓము.) v. n. To be enraged, క్షాత్రము మొరయించు.

(p. 1027) mēka mēka. [Tel.] n. A goat. మేకపిల్ల a kid. మేకవన్నెపులి a tiger of the color of a goat. i.e., a wolf in sheep's clothing. వెంటిమేక a she-goat. మేకపోతు a he-goat. పిల్లలుమేకలుగలవారము I am the head of a large family containing many individuals of both sexes. The Indians goat has excrescences like teats on the neck: as these are useless, వాడు వట్టిమేక మెడచన్ను denotes He is a mere useless burden or appendage. మేకతిండి meka-tinḍi. n. That which feeds on goats, i.e., a wolf, తోడేలు, మేకము [borrowed by Skt. from Tel.] n. Same as మేక. మేకమేయనాకు mēka-mēyan-āku. n. A certain poisonous herb. H. iv. 14. (As Shakespeare says, 'The green sour ringlets whereof the ewe not bites.')

(p. 1194) viṣamu vishamu. [Skt.] n. Poison, venom: anything hurtful or destructive. గరళము, చెరుపైనది. నాశనకరమైనది. In poetry it sometimes means water, జలము. అది దీనికి విషము that is poison to this. వాని నిలువెల్లా విషము he is a rogue from head to foot. విషముఎక్కినది the poison took effect. విషముదిగినది the effect of the poison went off. నేనంటే వానికి విషముగానున్నది he hates me like poison. దీన్ని నోట్లో వేసుకొంటే విషముగానున్నది it is as bitter as gall. విషజ్వరము a malignant fever, typhoid fever, విషభేది virulent diarrhœa, విషపాండువు acute dropsy. విషవునీరు the pus or matter in a boil విషవాక్కులు fatal expressions, క్రూరవచనములు. విషధరము visha-dharamu. n. Ila. iv. 9. విషవైద్యుడు visha-vaidyuḍu. n. A snake-catcher. అహితుండికుడు. A magician, గారడీలు. విషోల్బణుడు vish-ōlbaṇuḍu. n. One who has an excess of venom. అధికవిషము కలవాడు. 'బహువదనులునురుదీర్ఘ శరీరులును విషోల్బణులును.' విషాహి vish-āhi. n. A venomous serpent. విషముగలసర్పము.
