(p. 629) naṭṭa naṭṭa. [Tel.] n. A die at play. పాచిక 'నట్టలురెండుదానజతనంబునజేకొని.' భో. vii. నట్ట Short for నడుమ. The middle part of anything. నట్టడవి (నడుము+అడవి.) the heart of the forest, అరణ్య మధ్యము. నట్టనడమ (నడుము+నడుమ.) in the very middle, exactly in the centre, సరిమధ్యమందు. నట్టకోతి naṭṭa-kōti. n. A certain game among boys. నట్టిల్లు naṭṭillu. (నడుము+ఇల్లు.) n. The middle of a house. గృహమధ్యము. The inner apartments of a house, గర్భగృహము. నట్టింట in the middle of the house. నట్టేరు naṭṭēru. (నడుము+ఏరు.) n. The middle of the stream, నదీమధ్యము. నా బ్రతుకు నట్టేటిలో పుట్టి మునిగిన సామెత ఆయెను. I am utterly ruined, my raft has sunk in the mid stream.

(p. 632) nana nana. [Tel.] n. A bud, blossom. మొగ్గ. A sprout, చిగురు. A flower, పుష్పము. క్రొన్న నలుపూచెను it bore fresh blossoms. ననకారు nana-kāru. n. Lit: Blossom time. Spring, the first of the six seasons into which the Hindus divide the year, వసంత ఋతువు ననబడి nana-bōdi. (నన+పోడి.) n. A blooming girl. ననవిలుకాడు, ననవిలుతుడు or ననవిల్తుడు nana-vilu-kāḍu. n. Lit: He who bears a bow made of blossoms, i.e., Manmadha.

(p. 632) natti natti. [Tel.] n. Stuttering, stammering. నత్తివాడు a stammerer, నత్తిగలవాడు. నత్తు nattu. v. n. To stammer, stutter. తడబడుచు మాట్లాడు. n. The ring or small jewel worn by women on the left nostril, ముక్కుమ్మి, ముక్కుపోగు.

(p. 629) naṭṭu naṭṭu. [Tel.] n. A spot of ground. A place, abode. స్థానము, వాసస్థానము, Delay, ఆలస్యము. An obstacle, or hindrance; hesitation. ఆటంకము. Loss, damage. A platform of earth, a terrace. A tape worm. The bent grass that infest corn-fields. సస్యరోగవిశేషము. One species of this called కుందురునట్టు is found in the రేగడ or black soil, another గరకనట్టు in the mudub or mixed soil. The largest species is called పడవనట్టు; the smaller గంపనట్టు. నట్టుకొట్టు naṭṭu-koṭṭu. v. n. To delay. ఆలస్యముచేయు. నట్లుపడు naṭṭlu-paḍu. v. n. To hesitate. తడబడు, అడ్డిపడు. నట్టుకొను naṭṭu-konu. n. To fix (itself) firmly, to be fixed. కుదురుకొను, నెలకొను.

(p. 627) nakku nakku. [Tel.] v. n. To prowl, crounch down. To peep. To conceal or hide oneself, ఒదుదు, దాగు. n. A joint, అతుకు. నక్కుదూలము a beam in which two pieces are joined together. A lump or ingot of gold, iron or any other metal. A notch, నొక్కు. Reeded or ribbed work in carpentry or in silver. బంగారపు బిళ్ల. 'చొక్కపు పసిం. నక్కుల జెక్కుజెక్కు.' R. iv. 63. 'వెయ్యేసిమాడలయెత్తుగాగూడ ఖండించియున్న జంగమకోటి కొక్కొక్కనక్కు చెన్నుగా సమర్పణ చేసి మ్రొక్కుడును.' BD. v. 611. ఈ ఒడ్డాణమునకు నక్కులుకొట్టించు double up part of this belt, to make it shorter. See నక్క. నక్కేరు nakkēru. (నక్క+ఏరు.) n. A sort of plant, the roots of which are used in some medicines. Cordia myna. నక్కిళ్లు nakkiḷlu. (నక్కు+కీళ్లు.) n. The joints of the jaws. The jaw bones. పక్క పండ్లకీళ్లు. నక్కిళ్లుపడ్డవాడు one who has lockjaw.

(p. 633) namanamalāḍu nama-nama-l-āḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To thrive, to bloom, as plants.

(p. 637) nalugu , నలగు or నలియు nalugu. [Tel.] v. n. To break. To be broken, bruised, crushed, crumpled or reduced to powder. నలియగు. To rub with a fragrant paste నలుగుపెట్టు. To become easy, smooth, or familiar by acquaintance. To wither, be weakened or debilitated. ఆ పాఠము అతనికి నలిగినది the lesson has become familiar to him. దోవ యింకా నలగలేదు the road is not yet trodden smooth. వారు జగడమాడగా నేను నలిగిపోతిని they were the disputants but I was the sufferer, I was crushed between them. వారు నలిగిపోయినాడు they are in reduced circumstances. ఒళ్లు నలిగియున్నది the limbs are quite tired. నలుగు nalugu. n. Rubbing, scrubbing the limbs with fragrant paste made usually of పెసలు. నలుగుపెట్టు to rub the limbs with paste. నలుగు or నలుగుపిండి n. A sort of fragrant paste used as soap. నలుగుడు or నలగుడు naluguḍu. n. Difficulty, trouble, pain, suffering. పిడనము, సంకటము, తొందర, ఇబ్బంది 'అతండు నలుగుడుబడరాదో మగువ.' Suca. iii. 333. That which is thrashed or bruised. నలిగినది. నలుగుడుపెట్టు to oppress, to harass. నలగగొట్టు nalaga-goṭṭu. v. a. To pound, to bruise. వాణ్ని నలగకొట్టినారు they thrashed him severely. నలత or నల్త nalata. n. Debility: a weak state: the remains or constitutional effects of a disease. పురాణించిన రోగము. Convalescence, a bad state of health, lingering indisposition, a low fever. నలతగొట్టు nalata-goṭṭu. n. A make-bate, a thorn in one's side. నలుకువ or నలకువ nalukuva. n. Ailing, an ill state of health. వ్యాధి. Suffering, శ్రమము, బాధ. Weariness, ఆయాసము. నలుచు, నలచు or నలుపు naluṭsu. v. a. To crush. To rub the skin. నలియజేయు, తోము.
