(p. 834) prapitāmahuḍu pra-pitā-mahuḍu. [Skt.] n. A great-grandfather. ముత్తాత. ప్రపితామహి a great grand-mother. వృద్ధప్రపితామహుడు a great grandfather's father.

(p. 757) piluku piluku. [Tel.] n. Pride, conceit, గర్వము. పిలుకుమారు, పిలుకుమాలు, పిల్కుమారు or పిల్కుమాలు piluku-māru. v.n To die, చచ్చు. To be destroyed,to perish. నాళమెందు. 'కాల్బలముల్ దనవీకవిచ్చియచ్, మురలియుడూలియుచ్ చిలుకుమారుడు బారియుట్.' M. VIII.i.4 పిలుకుమారుదు, పిలుకుమార్చు, పిలుకుమాలుదు or పిలుకుమావ్చు piluku-māruṭsu v.a To kill, to destroy 'మునుజనాధయెక్కడవువూని ముహొద్చుత బాహనంపదచ్, మమువడిదాకెదచ్ బిలుకుమార్చె దనంట యుదాత్తమెనధర్యమహిమగాదె.' M.IX. ii. 102.

(p. 817) pōṭakamu pōṭakamu. [from Skt. స్ఫోటకము.] n. Small-pox, మశూచకము, పోటగళము pōṭa-gaḷamu. n. A fish, చేప. A kind of grass, కిక్కిసకసవు. A reed, రెల్లు.

(p. 772) pulakalu pulakalu. [Skt.] n. plu. A bristling, a glow, a tingling or glowing of the skin, as in a blush, the hair of the skin being erected. గగురుపొడుచుట, గగుర్పాటు. Fever, జ్వరము. పులకాంకితుడు pulak-ānkituḍu. n. One who glows or tingles with ecstasy, గగుర్పాటు కలిగినవాడు. పులకాంకురము pulak-ānkuramu. n. A bristling, a tingle, glow, shudder, thrill. గగురుపు. పులకించు pulakinṭsu. v. n. To glow, bristle or tingle. పులకోద్గమము pulak-ōdgamamu. n. A bristling, tingle, glow. పులకరము pulakramu. [from పులకలు.] n. Feverishness, aguishness, జ్వరము. Startling, గగుర్పాటు. పులకరించు pulakarinṭsu. v. n. To be feverish or startled.

(p. 755) pipīlika pipīlika. [Skt.] n. An ant. పిపీపికాది బ్రహ్మపర్యంతము from an ant to God.

(p. 811) poraka poraka. [Tel.] n. A blade of grass. (గడ్డి.) పోచ, ఈనెపుడక. A broom for sweeping, చీపురుకట్ట. పొరకచేప poraka-chēpa. n. A certain large fish. పొకరటి poraka-ṭi. n. The outside wall of a house. వాకిటిచేరుగోడ, ప్రహరీగోడ. పొరకసుడి poraka-suḍi. n. A bad or unlucky mark or tuft of hair, (సుడి,) found on oxen and other animals.

(p. 757) piluka or పిల్క piluka. [Tel.] n. A young one, a young shoot. లేటిలేబిలుక the young of the antelope. 'పులులకు బుద్ధినేర్పుకొని పూరియుగీరియు మేటిలేడిలే, చిలుకలవెంట ద్రిప్పుకొని పెంచుచు.' R. ii. 69. అంచపిలుక a young swan. సింగపుబిలుక the cub of a lion. తేటిపిలుక a young bee. పిలుకవాటు piluka-vāṭu. n. Bearing young ones, పిల్లలను వేయుట. 'పిలుకవాటిగొడిగె జావడిగెములకుం.' A. iv. 36. టీ పిలుకవాటి, పిల్లలను ఇచ్చే, గోడిగెనావడములకు, ఆడగుర్రపుతట్లకు.

(p. 835) prabhūtamu prabhriti. [Skt.] n. A beginning, మొదలు. adv. After that, thence, beginning with, &c. బాల్యాత్ప్రభృతి ever since my youth. శివహరిప్రభృతులు Siva, Hari and the rest. మునిప్రభృతిజనములు the ascetics and the rest.

(p. 799) paimāyiṣī pai-māyishī. [H.] n. The survey or measurement of lands. నేలలుకొలపడము.

(p. 819) pōyu pōyu. [Tel.] v. n. To arise, to be born or produced, పుట్టు, చెమటపోయు to perspire, చెమటపట్టు. చీముపోయు to suppurate as a boil, చీముపట్టు. వానికి యింకా అమ్మవారు పోయలేదు he has never had the small-pox. v. a. To pour, as water. To cast in metal or found. To fit on, as a halter as ఉరిపోయు. To place an arrow in a bow (బాణమును) సంధించు or కూర్చు. అమ్మవారు నిన్న సేతులుపోసినది the small pox came to a head yesterday. కట్టపోసినారు they built a bank. నారుపోయు to sow seed, which is afterwards to be transplanted. ఆకుపోయు to transplant rice. గోడపెట్టి ముదురుపోసినాడు he built a wall and placed a cope upon it. తలబ్రాలు పోసినది she poured the blessed grain upon their heads (in marriage.) ఉచ్చపోయు to make water, to pass urine. వడపోయు or వడకట్టు to strain rice, &c. ఉరిపోయు to cast a noose. వృథాగా నా ఉసురుపోసుకొన్నాడు he has injured me without any cause. పురుడుపోసేనిమిత్తము దానిని పుట్టింటికి తీసుకొని వచ్చినారు they brought her home to lie in. వాడు దానిని నోట్లో పోసుకొన్నాడు he poured it into his mouth. ఆ చిన్నది వానిని నీళ్లు పోస్తున్నది the girl is bathing him. ఆమె చెట్లకు నీళ్లుపోస్తున్నది she is watering the trees. బిచ్చమెత్తి పొట్టపోసు కొంటున్నాడు he fills his belly by begging. ఆసుపోసినది she placed the thread in readiness for weaving. పోయించు pōyinṭsu. v. a. To cause to cast or pour; to erect. గట్టుపోయించు to raise a bank. విగ్రహములు పోయించిరి they had some statues cast.
