(p. 825) prakhyātamu pra-khyātamu. [Skt.] adj. Much celebrated, very famous, renowned, మిక్కిలి ప్రసిద్ధమైన. ప్రఖ్యాతి pra-khyāti. n. Celebrity, fame, renown. మిక్కిలి ప్రసిద్ధి.

(p. 802) pokkali pokkali. [Tel.] n. One of the three legs or projecting lumps supporting the boiler on an earthen fireplace, పొయ్యి మీది ఎత్తుగడ్డలు, మూడురాళ్లు పెట్టిన పొయ్యి. A portable oven, ఎత్తుడుపొయ్యి. పొక్కటి గడ్డలు or పొక్కటిరాళ్లు pokkaṭi-gaḍḍalu. n. Stones used as a temporary fireplace. పొయ్యిరాళ్లు. వారు ముగ్గురు పొక్కటిరాళ్లరీతిగానున్నారు those three are as inseparable as the three legs of a fireplace.

(p. 851) proyyi , ప్రొయి, పొయ్యి or పొయి proyyi. [Tel.] n. An oven. గడ్డపొయ్యి gaḍḍa-poyyi. n. An oven constructed with bricks or three pieces of stone placed like a triangle. గాడిపొయ్యి gāḍi-poyyi. n. An oven which is made by digging a long narrow pit in the ground. గుంటపొయ్యి gunṭa-poyyi. n. An oven formed by digging a pit in the ground.

(p. 776) puṣkaramu pushkaramu. [Skt.] n. The tip of an elephant's trunk. ఏనుగుతొండము చివర. A lotus. మెట్టతామర. The sky, ఆకాశము. The head of a drum. వాద్యముఖము.The revolution of twelve years. A feast held once every twelve years at certain holy rivers as the గోదావరి పుష్కరము, కృష్ణపు ష్కరము, &c. ఒక పుష్కర పాలగ్రామములు a dozen holy stones. కరపుష్కరము the lilies of her hands, i.e., her fair hands. పుష్కరిణి pushkarini. n. A flowery lake, a pond wherein lotuses grow. A i. 55. తామరకొలను, కోనేరు. A female elephant.

(p. 817) pōṭa or పోటన pōṭa. [Tel.] adj. Large. పెద్ద. [Skt.] n. A woman that has moustaches. మీసముగల ఆడుది. A servant woman, దాసి. పోటకత్తి pōṭa-katti n. A bill-hook, a wood cutter's knife, అడవినరికే కత్తి. పోటకందులు pōṭa-kandulu. n. White dhall, తెల్లకందులు. పోటనబంతి pōṭana-banti. n. A large ball. పుట్టచెండు. 'పోటన బంతి మీటుగతి.' Vasu. ii. 201. పోటముంజి pōṭa-munji. n. A large modesty piece, పుట్టగోచి.

(p. 840) prasaramu pra-saramu. [Skt.] n. Spreading, extending. వ్యాప్తి, వ్యాపనము, వ్యాపించడము. ప్రసరణము prasaraṇamu. n. Going forth or round, extending, spreading. వ్యాపించడము. Surrounding an enemy, అంతట సేన వ్యాపించచుట. ప్రసరించు or ప్రసరిల్లు pra-sarinṭsu. v. n. To spread, extend. వ్యాపించు. ప్రసరింపజేయు prasarimpa-jēyu. v. a. To cause to extend. వ్యాపించునట్లుచేయు, వ్యాపింపజేయు.

(p. 846) prāpiñcu prāpinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To obtain, get, attain to. పొందు. ప్రాపు prāpu. n. A prop. A protection, support, a refuge; patronage; a person on whom one depends, ఆసరా, ఆశ్రయము. ఆయనప్రాపుననున్నాము we are under his protection. ప్రాప్తము praptamu. adj. Obtained, gained, acquired, received, procured, caught, as a disease, పొందబడిన. కుష్ఠు అతనికి ప్రాప్తమైనందున because he caught the leprosy. n. That which is obtained. that which falls to one's lot, luck, fortune. నాప్రాప్తమింతే this is all I can get, such is my luck. ప్రాప్తి prāpti. n. Obtaining, attaining, పొందడము. Gain, profit, లాభము. One of the eight superhuman faculties, the power of obtaining every thing one desires. అష్టైశ్వర్యములలో నొకటి. Luck, fortune. అదృష్టము. వానికి అంతే ప్రాప్తి this is all he can get. దాని ప్రాప్తి అట్లు ఉండినది such was her luck. నీకు అది ప్రాప్తిలేదు you were not fortunate enough to get it. ప్రాప్తించు prāptinṭsu. v. n. To happen or occur; to be gained, obtained, found. కలుగు, లభించు. వానికి రోగము ప్రాప్తించినది he contracted or caught a disease. ప్రాప్తుడు prāptuḍu. n. One who has attained. వారు వైకుంఠ ప్రాప్తులరి they went to Vishnu's heaven, i.e., they died. ప్రాప్యము prāpyamu. adj. Attainable, procurable, that may be got. పొందదగిన. ప్రాపకము prāpakamu. n. Protection, patronage, refuge. అవలంబము, అవష్టంభము, ఆసరా, ప్రాపకుడు prāpakuḍu. n. One who puts an object within our power or reach. ఘటకుడు. A patron, protector, guardian.

(p. 816) pōci or పోచీ pōchi. [Tel.] n. The place near the wrist, the wrist, మనికట్టుమీ చోటు, మనికట్టు. పోచీలు a sort of bracelets worn at the wrists by women.

(p. 831) pratyavāyamu pratyavāyamu. [Skt.] n. Sin. A reverse, a contrary course or proceeding. Disappointment, disagreement. దోషము. దీనిని చేయడమువల్ల ఏమిన్ని ప్రత్యవాయములేదు there is no harm in doing it. 'కేషాంచిత్ కరణే ప్రత్యవాయః, కేషాంచిత్ అకరణే ప్రాయశ్చచిత్తం.'
