(p. 755) pivākamu pinākamu. [Skt.] n. The name of the bow or trident used by Siva. శివుని ధనుస్సు, త్రిశూలము. A rain of mud, మట్టి వాన. పినాకి pināki. n. An epithet of Siva. శివుడు. పినాకిని pinākini. n. The Sanskrit name of the river Pennar which rises near Nandidroog and falls into the sea near Nellore.

A small bit or piece of stick. పుల్లలు small pieces of wood for fuel. వారిమీది వ్యాజ్యానికి పొమ్మని నాకు పుల్లలు పెట్టినాడు he goaded me on to quarrel with them. కుట్టుడాకుపుల్లలు pins used in making leaf platters. పానకములో పుల్లువలె అడ్డపడినాడు he came in my way like a twig in a draught of water. ఆ పనికి నీవు పుల్లలు వేయకు do not throw obstacles in its way.

(p. 788) peṇaka or పెడక penaka. [Tel.] n. A pent roof, one side of a sloping roof. ఇంటియొక్క ఒకభాగపుకప్పు. The back side of a leaf, ఆకుయొక్క వెనుకటి భాగము. చిప్పపెణక the gable end of a roof.

(p. 813) polayaluka pola-y-aluka. [Tel. పొల్ల+అలుక.] n. A lovers' quarrel, ప్రణయ కలహము.

(p. 799) paiṣṭikamu patshṭikamu. [Skt. from పిష్టము.] n. A cake of flour. A kind of beer made from a fermented paste. పిష్టము, అనేక ధాన్యసారకృతమద్యము.

(p. 846) prāpiñcu prāpinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To obtain, get, attain to. పొందు. ప్రాపు prāpu. n. A prop. A protection, support, a refuge; patronage; a person on whom one depends, ఆసరా, ఆశ్రయము. ఆయనప్రాపుననున్నాము we are under his protection. ప్రాప్తము praptamu. adj. Obtained, gained, acquired, received, procured, caught, as a disease, పొందబడిన. కుష్ఠు అతనికి ప్రాప్తమైనందున because he caught the leprosy. n. That which is obtained. that which falls to one's lot, luck, fortune. నాప్రాప్తమింతే this is all I can get, such is my luck. ప్రాప్తి prāpti. n. Obtaining, attaining, పొందడము. Gain, profit, లాభము. One of the eight superhuman faculties, the power of obtaining every thing one desires. అష్టైశ్వర్యములలో నొకటి. Luck, fortune. అదృష్టము. వానికి అంతే ప్రాప్తి this is all he can get. దాని ప్రాప్తి అట్లు ఉండినది such was her luck. నీకు అది ప్రాప్తిలేదు you were not fortunate enough to get it. ప్రాప్తించు prāptinṭsu. v. n. To happen or occur; to be gained, obtained, found. కలుగు, లభించు. వానికి రోగము ప్రాప్తించినది he contracted or caught a disease. ప్రాప్తుడు prāptuḍu. n. One who has attained. వారు వైకుంఠ ప్రాప్తులరి they went to Vishnu's heaven, i.e., they died. ప్రాప్యము prāpyamu. adj. Attainable, procurable, that may be got. పొందదగిన. ప్రాపకము prāpakamu. n. Protection, patronage, refuge. అవలంబము, అవష్టంభము, ఆసరా, ప్రాపకుడు prāpakuḍu. n. One who puts an object within our power or reach. ఘటకుడు. A patron, protector, guardian.

(p. 752) pikili, pikkili, pikiligāḍu, pikiliguvva, pikilipiṭṭa, pigili or పిగిలిపిట్ట pikili. [Tel.] n. The Common Madras Bulbul, Molpastes hæmorrhons. తురకపికిలిపిట్ట the Southern Red-whiskered Bulbul, Otocompsa fuscicaudata తోకపిగిలిపిట్ట the Indian Paradise Flycatcher, Terpsiphone paradisi. పొదపిగిలిగాడు the White-browed Bulbul, Pycnonotus luteolus. కొండపొదపిగిలిగాడు the yellow-throated Bulbul, Pycnonotus xantheleemus. పికిలిచెండు a tuft made of the feathers of this bird. పికిలిపూసలు pikili-pūsalu. n. plu. A kind of beads. 'గోరోజన, మిర్రులున్, పికిలిపూసల్, మోవిపండులు, కుందేళ్లు.' R. ii. 4.

(p. 840) praśaṃsa pra-ṣamsa. [Skt.] n. Praise, commendation, eulogy. స్తోత్రము, స్తుతి. A subject, topic: mention. ప్రస్తావము. ఆప్రశంస తెచ్చినాడుకాడు he made no mention of the matter. ప్రశంసించు pra-ṣamsinṭsu. v. a. To praise, స్తుతించు, పొగడు. To mention, allude to , speak of. ప్రస్తావముచేయు. ఆయన పేరును నిర్నిమిత్తముగా ప్రశంసింపరాదు thou shalt not take his name in vain. ప్రశస్తము or ప్రశస్తులైన pra-ṣastamu. adj. Famous, renowned, celebrated, excellent, superior, ప్రసిద్ధమైన, శ్రేష్ఠమైన. ప్రశస్తి pra-ṣasti. n. Fame, excellence, eminence, eulogy. ప్రసిద్ధి, పొగడిక. ప్రశస్తకుడు pra-ṣastakuḍu. n. A renowned man, one who is famous. ప్రసిద్ధుడు. 'అనవినిసర్వశాస్త్రములయందు ప్రశస్తకులైనయార్యులన్.' Bilh. i. 66.
