(p. 1034) moṇḍi moḍi. [Tel.] adj. Maimed, crippled, defective, imperfect. చేతులు కాళ్లు తెగిన, అంగహీనమైన. Bare; lopped. Blunt. blunted, మొక్కపోయిన. Stubborn, obstinate, perverse, pertinacious, impertinent, incorrigible, unmanageable, ungovernable, refractory, unruly, మూర్ఖమైన. మొండిమాటలు stubborn or rude language. మొండిపిల్లకాయ an obstinate or refractory boy. మొండిగోడలు bare walls. మొండిగంటము a blunt stylus. మొండి చెయి a maimed hand. మొండిచేతులు bare hands, i.e., hands without any ornament. మొండితోక a docked tail. మొండిమెడ a bare neck, i.e., without any necklace. వానిది మొండిప్రాణము he is tenacious of life. మొండికట్టె or మొండరి monḍi-katṭe. n. A stubborn wretch. మూర్ఖుడు. మొండిచేయి, మొండాడు or మొండాటలాడు monḍi-chēyu. v. n. To be unruly; to oppose. ఆ గుర్రము మొండిచేస్తున్నది the horse is stubborn. మొండితనము monḍi-tanamu. n. Stubbornness, obstinacy. మూర్ఖత్వము. మొండిపారిన monḍi-pārina. adj. Callous. కాయకాచిన. మొండిపురుగు monḍi-purugu. n. The 'stumpy' snake, or Amphisbœna, which looks as if the tail was lopped off. మొండు Another form of మొండి. మొండెము or మొండియము monḍemu. n. A stump. The trunk of a body after the head is lopped off. శిరస్సులేని శరీరము, కజంధము. A fragment, a limb lopped off, a separated member, ఖండము. మొండెపుగాము monḍepu-gāmu. n. An epithet of Rāhu. రాహువు.

(p. 1008) mummaramu mummaramu [Tel.] n. Vehemence, excess. ఉగ్రము. జ్వరముయొక్క ముమ్మరము the crisis of the fever. జ్వరముయొక్క ముమ్మరము తగ్గినది the vehemence of the fever is now past. అతని పని యిప్పుడు నిండా ముమ్మరముగానున్నది his star is now in the ascendant. adj. Vehement, excessive, మిక్కిలి అతిశయమైన, ఉగ్రమైన. ముమ్మరముగా mummaramu-gā. adv. Vehemently, excessively. మిక్కిలి అతిశయముగా, ఉగ్రముగా. ముమ్మరించు mummarinṭsu. v. n. To grow stronger, redouble, exceed, become violent, to come to its height or crisis. ఉగ్రమగు. జ్వరము ముమ్మరించినది the fever reached in height, maximum, or crisis.

(p. 942) maṭṭa maṭṭa. [Tel.] n. A bough or stem (of the palm cocoanut, or date tree.) తాళనారికేళాదులకొమ్మ. కలబందమట్ట the stem of the Aloe plant. The tail of an animal. ఆవులలోనగువానితోక. The sucking fish, called the Echeneis, or remora. Several species of this are called కొర్రమట్ట. పయి౛ారుమట్ట, మట్టగుడిసె or మట్టగొరిసె, పూలమట్ట. మాలమట్ట and కడిచమట్ట. See Russell, Plates. 82 and 84. మట్టగిడుసు maṭṭa-giḍusu. n. A sort of fish.

(p. 1050) mrukka or ముక్క mrukka. [Tel.] adj. Spoiled (as grain), చెడిపోయిన (ధాన్యము.) మ్రుక్కడి mrukkaḍi. adj. Petty. trifling, mean, base, అల్పము, క్షుద్రము. మ్రుక్కడిమూక the baser sort of people, the mob.

(p. 967) mahima or మహిమము mahima. [Skt.] n. Greatness in general (literal, or figurative.) గొప్పతనము. All pervasiveness, as one of Siva's attributes; illimitability, omnipotence, majesty, grandeur. ఒక ఐశ్వర్యము. The power of working miracles. మహాత్మ్యము.

Grits, that which remains in the sieve after sifting; the finest and hardest particles which resist the pestle. మెదగకనిలిచిన ధాన్యము. మెరికబియ్యము the rice which in pounding resists the pestle, పొట్ట వీడీవీడనిబియ్యము. మెరికలవంటివాడు a man of grit, a choice favoirite. మెరికలవంటిమాటలు choice phrases. ఈ గ్రంథము రత్నాలమెరికలు this book is a perfect gem, a galaxy of beauties. మెరియడు meriyaḍu. n. A steady man, చలింపనివాడు మెరియత meriyata. n. A steady woman, చలింపనిది. A victress, heroine, she who escapes with impunity.
