A. vi. 29. ముండము or ముండితము munḍamu. adj. Shaved, bald, having no hair on the head గొరగబడిన. ముండ manḍa. n. Lit: One whose head is shaven. A widow, విధవ. A wretch. A whore. వేశ్య. ముండ మోయు munḍa-mōyu. v. n. To become a widow, వైధవ్యమునొందు. To become useless, వ్యర్థమగు. అది చెడ్డముండ she is a wretched slut. ఆడముండ a miserable creature. పోకిరిముండ an immoral wretch. పేదముండ a poor wretch. ముండమోపి a widow. పిచ్చిముండ a simpleton. అది రాక్షసి ముండగనుక as she is a horrid wretch. ముండలమారి, ముండరి or ముండలముఠాకోరు a whoremonger. ముండనుపెట్టుకొన్నాడు he keeps a concubine. ముండనము munḍa-namu. n. Shaving, shearing, cutting. క్షౌరము. ముండి munḍi. n. Bald-pate: one who has a shaven head. బోడితలవాడు. A barber, మంగలవాడు. ముండుడు mun-ḍuḍu. n. A bald headed man, బోడితలవాడు. A monk. సన్యాసి. 'పరిగ్రహవిముఖుడై ముండుండు ననికేతనుండు వృక్షమూలవాసి యుగపాలధరుండు.' M. XII. v. 133.

(p. 968) māndyamu māndyamu. [Skt. from మందము.] n. Dullness, sluggishness, torpor, apathy, stupidity, ఆలస్యము, జడత్వము. Sickness, indisposition.

(p. 1021) meccu meṭsṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To applaud, commend, praise, approve, శ్లాఘించు. ఒప్పుకొను. ఆపనికి మెచ్చి approving that act. 'జీవహింసలకును శివుడు మెచ్చండు.' Raghava Pandav. iii. 25. n. Praise, approbation, applause, commendation. మెప్పు, శ్లాఘన, అనుగ్రహము, ప్రీతి, బహుమానము. మెచ్చుపడసెను he was applauded. adj. Praiseworthy, శ్లాఘ్యము. మెచ్చుకొను meṭsṭsu-konu. v. a. To praise, approve, commend. శ్లాఘించు, కొనియాడు. మెచ్చులచెట్టు meṭsṭsula cheṭṭu The admirable tree, an epithet applied to the కల్పవృక్షము. మెచ్చులాడి meṭsṭsul-āḍi. n. A woman who is fit to be admired. మెచ్చుకొనదగిన ఆడుది, మెచ్చులాడు meṭsṭsul-āḍu. n. One who is fit to be admired, మెచ్చుకొనదగినవాడు. మెరమెచ్చు mera-meṭsṭsu. (మెచ్చు + మెచ్చు.) n. Great praise or approbation, entire satisfaction. మిక్కిలిమెచ్చు. See మెప్పు.

(p. 959) marmamu marmamu. [Skt.] n. A vital part, ఆయము, జీవస్థానము. A secret, a mystery, కిటుకు. Secrecy, mystery, dissimulation, hypocrisy, కపటము, నెపము. సమర్మముగా in full detail, minutely. మర్మస్థానము a private part, vital part. మర్మాన్వేషి one who investigates or tries to discover. మర్మజ్ఞుడు marma-gnyudu. n. An intimate. Lit: One who knows a secret. మర్మమెరిగినవాడు. మర్మి marmi. n. A hypocrite.

(p. 1034) moṇḍi moḍi. [Tel.] adj. Maimed, crippled, defective, imperfect. చేతులు కాళ్లు తెగిన, అంగహీనమైన. Bare; lopped. Blunt. blunted, మొక్కపోయిన. Stubborn, obstinate, perverse, pertinacious, impertinent, incorrigible, unmanageable, ungovernable, refractory, unruly, మూర్ఖమైన. మొండిమాటలు stubborn or rude language. మొండిపిల్లకాయ an obstinate or refractory boy. మొండిగోడలు bare walls. మొండిగంటము a blunt stylus. మొండి చెయి a maimed hand. మొండిచేతులు bare hands, i.e., hands without any ornament. మొండితోక a docked tail. మొండిమెడ a bare neck, i.e., without any necklace. వానిది మొండిప్రాణము he is tenacious of life. మొండికట్టె or మొండరి monḍi-katṭe. n. A stubborn wretch. మూర్ఖుడు. మొండిచేయి, మొండాడు or మొండాటలాడు monḍi-chēyu. v. n. To be unruly; to oppose. ఆ గుర్రము మొండిచేస్తున్నది the horse is stubborn. మొండితనము monḍi-tanamu. n. Stubbornness, obstinacy. మూర్ఖత్వము. మొండిపారిన monḍi-pārina. adj. Callous. కాయకాచిన. మొండిపురుగు monḍi-purugu. n. The 'stumpy' snake, or Amphisbœna, which looks as if the tail was lopped off. మొండు Another form of మొండి. మొండెము or మొండియము monḍemu. n. A stump. The trunk of a body after the head is lopped off. శిరస్సులేని శరీరము, కజంధము. A fragment, a limb lopped off, a separated member, ఖండము. మొండెపుగాము monḍepu-gāmu. n. An epithet of Rāhu. రాహువు.

(p. 955) mayila , మైల or మకీల mayila. [Tel.] n. Dirt, foulness, uncleanness, actual or ceremonial impurity, dirty clothes. మురికి. అశుచి, కట్టివిడిచిన గుడ్డలు. చాకలవాడు ఇంకా మయిల యెత్తుకొనిపోలేదు the washerman has not yet taken away the dirty clothes. వారియింట్లో మయిలవచ్చినది their house has been defiled. adj. Dirty, foul, unclean, impure. మురికిగానుండే, అశుచియైన.
