(p. 1136) vala vala. [Tel. for వలను.] adj. Right, కుడి. వలచేయి or వలకేలు the right hand. 'అరుదుగావలచేతనక్షమాలికయు.' DR. Aran. 268. 'వలకేల్దలక్రింద జేర్చుకొని.' P. i. 256. వలకట్టు vala-kaṭṭu. (వలను+కట్టు.). a. To make a thing convenient, అనుకూలపరుచు వలకడ valakaḍa. (వలను+కడ.) n. The South side. దిక్షిణపుదిక్కు. వలగొను (వలను+కొను), వలచుట్టు (వలను+చుట్టు) or వలదిరుగు vala-gonu. v. n. To walk round, circumambulate. ప్రదక్షిణముచేయు, చుట్టుకొను. 'వదాన్యమహీరుహసార్వభౌమునిన్ వలగొని మ్రొక్కి.' Parij. v. 88. వలచుట్టు vala-ṭsuṭṭu. n. The act of walking round anything. వలగొనుట.

(p. 1127) vadanika or బదనిక vadanika. [Tel.] n. A parasitic plant, Epidendron tesseloides and other species. జీవంతికావృక్షము. వృక్షరుహ.

(p. 1126) vaḍḍiñcu vaḍḍinṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To help at meals, to serve up a meal. అన్నమిడు. వాడన్నమాటలను నీకునీవే యేల వడ్డించుకొంటున్నావు why do you take his words to yourself? 'అనుకయపకపకనగి యవ్వనజుడను నీకునీవె వడ్డించుకొనన్ జనునే.' Ahal. ii. 46. 'అతివవడ్డింపదివ్యాన్నమారగించి.' Ila. ii. 11. వడ్డన or వడ్డెన vaḍḍana. n. Serving out, or helping food. ఇడడము, వడ్డించడము. వడ్డనఅయినది dinner is served. రెండవవడ్డన the second course.

(p. 1097) laḍi laḍi. [H.] n. A skein of lace, &c., నిడుపుగాచుట్టిన సరిగెలోనగువాని చుట్ట. A skein of gold or silver thread. A string of pearls, flowers, &c.

(p. 1155) vāravāṇamu vārarāṇamu. [Skt.] n. A piece of armour; a quilted jacket. కవచము, దూది బొంతచొక్కాయ.

(p. 1112) lō lō. [Tel.] prep. In, within, inside of, amongst, among, of. దారిలో on the road. ఇంటిలో or ఇంట్లో in the house. వచ్చినంతలో on his coming. అంతలో or ఇంతలో in the meantime. The word must be translated to suit the verb with which it is used. Thus, బిళ్లను మెడలో వేసుకొన్నాడు he wore the badge over his shoulder. తలలో వాగా చుట్టుకొన్నాడు he rolled the turban round his head. అత్తలోనుండి విభాగము కాలేదు she is not separated from her mother-in-law's family. ఇంతరాత్రిలో so late at night. తమలోతాము మాటాడుకోలేదు they did not speak to each other. వేలిలోనుండే ఉంగరము the ring on his finger. బిడ్డ నాపక్కలో పండుకొని ఉండినది the child lay down at my side. మాలో అందరు all of us. వాడు అందరిలో మంచివాడు he is the best of them all. (See లోను and లోని.) పనిలో మాట్లాడుట to talk during work, or while at work. చెట్టులో బంకకారుతున్నది gum flows from the tree. అతడు నాచేతిలో కోసినాడు he inflicted a wound on my hand. లో lō. adj. Inner, internal, inside. Inferior, or subordinate. లోగది an inner room. లోకావు a sub-renter or under farmer. లోచెయ్యి the inner hand, i.e., the palm of the hand. లోగొను to take inside, to receive, to contain within itself, లోపల నడచుకొను. లోమనుష్యుడు a reserved or self-contained man. లోగా lō-gā. adv. Within, inside, meanwhile, in the course of, లోపల. పదిదినములకులోగా within ten days. ఈలోగా meantime. ఇది వానికి చేరే లోగా before this reaches him. యాభైయేండ్లకులోగా before he was fifty years old.

(p. 1157) vārṣikamu vārshikamu. [Skt. from వర్షము.] adj. Pertaining to a year, limited to a year. సంవత్సరకాలపరిమితిగల.

(p. 1094) lambi or లంబీ lambi. [Tel.] n. A family. కుటుంబము.

(p. 1100) lahari lahari. [Skt.] n. A large wave or surf, a billow. A flood. మహాతరంగము, ప్రవాహము, పెద్దకరుడు. T. iv. 150.

(p. 1127) vadaru or వదురు vadaru. [Tel.] v. n. To spread, అడరు, వ్యాపించు. To prattle, chatter, jabber. ప్రేలు. 'నోరునిలువకవదరిన.' Vema. iii. 305. n. Chattering, prattling. ప్రేలుడు The long gourd, సొరకాయ, ఆనపకాయ. వదరుతీగె the creeping plant of the long gourd, Cucurbita lagenaris. ఆనపతిగె, సొరతీగె. 'ఆ వరదుడైనయీశువరము ననిదియొక్క, వదరుపుట్టెనెట్టివరమొయనుచుదాని బారవైనగానున్న.' M. III. iii. 44. వదరుబోతు, వదురుబోతు or వదర vadarụ-bōtu. n. A chatterbox, an empty talker. ప్రేలువాడు.
