(p. 1206) veccamu veṭsṭsamu. [from Skt. విసర్జనం.] n. Expenditure, expense. వ్యయము. Purchasing petty articles for household use on credit. ఇంటికి వాడుకొనుటకు కావలసిన చిల్లరవస్తువుల అప్పు. 'సరసుడనైతే అంగడి వెచ్చములాడకు వెంగలితోజెలిమివలవదువినరా.' Sumati. 105. ఆసువెచ్చము the tax on every ' shuttle. 'పిసినివానియింట పీనుగు వెడలిన కట్టుకోలడు నుకాసులిచ్చి వెచ్చమాయెననుచచు వెక్కివెక్కేడ్చురా.' Vēma. i. 34. వెచ్చకాడు veṭsa-kāḍu. n. A spendthrift. మిక్కిలికర్చు చేయువాడు. A gallant or paramour, విటుడు. వెచ్చపెట్టు or వెచ్చించు veṭsṭsa-peṭṭu. v. a. To spend, to lay out. వ్యయముచేయు. 'కట్టకకుడువక పరులకుబెట్టక తమతండ్రిగూడపెట్టినసిరి దాగట్టి యుగుడిచియునొరులకు బెట్టియదనయిచ్చ వెచ్చపెట్టదలంచెన్.' Zacca. ii. 'దాతననుచుసకలధనమపాత్రులకును వెచ్చపెట్టుటదియెవెర్రితనము.' Kuchelo. iii. 140. వెచ్చపోవు, వెచ్చపడు or వెచ్చమగు veṭsṭsa-pōvu. v. n. To be spent. వ్యయమగు.

(p. 1231) vyaṅgyamu vyangyamu. [Skt.] n. Sarcasm, irony, covert expression of contempt, &c. అవక్షేపము, శ్లేషకథ. వ్యంగ్యోక్తి a sarcastic speech or expression. 'కాంతకిట్లనియెవ్వంగ్యము గానబడగ.' L. viii. 84. Impropriety, indecency, indelicacy, ఎబ్బెరికము. ఇది వారికి వ్యంగ్యముకాదు among them this is no indecency. వ్యంజకము vyanjakamu. adj. Making clear or plain, distinguishing, indicative or expressive of passion or feeling. ప్రకాశమైన, సుచకమైన, బోధకమైన. వ్యంజనము vyanjanamu. n. A mark, sign, token. గురుతు, చిహ్నము. A consonant (in grammar.) హల్లు. కాదిఅక్షరము. A sauce, or condiment. అన్నోపకరణము. కూర. వ్యంజితము vyanjitamu. adj. Made visible, manifested. బైలుపెట్టబడిన. 'జలధి వ్యంజితశాదముల్ ప్రళయగర్జన్మేఘసంవాదముల్.' N. iv. 40.

A god or goddess, దేవుడు, దేవత. ఇలోల్పు a god of this world, i.e., a Brahmin. ఇలువేల్పు a patron saint, a genius or household god. వేలుపుటన్ను a goddess. దేవతాస్త్రీ. T. ii. 106. వేలుపుకొలను or వేలుపుటేరు the heavenly stream, the celestial Ganges, ఆకాశగంగ; the river Ganges, గంగ. వేలుపుగాణ a mythological being, a Gandharva, గంధర్వుడు. వేలుపుగిడ్డి or వేల్పుటావు the mythological cow that grants all wishes, కామధేనువు. వేలుపుచెట్టు the divine tree that grants all wishes, కల్పవృక్షము, వేలుపు ౛డదారి the divine ascetic or monk. i.e., Narada, నారదుడు. వేలుపుటొ౛్జ the divine preceptor of Guru, i.e., Brihaspati, నురాచార్యుడు, బృహస్పతి. వేలుపుదాయ an enemy of the gods, i.e., an Asura. వేలుపుబాస the language of the gods, i.e., Sanskrit. వేలలుపుబోనము the food of the gods, i.e., Ambrosia, అమృతము. వేలుపుమల or వేల్పుకొండ the hill of the gods, i.e., Mount Meru. వేలుపుమానికము the diamond of the gods, i.e., the philosopher's stone, a jewel that grants all that may be desired, చింతామణి. వేలుపురేడు or వేల్పుదొర the lord of the gods, i.e., Indra. వేలుపుసాని a fortune teller, సోదెచెప్పునది, దైవజ్ఞ. వేలుపుగౌరు the white elephant of the gods, ఐరావతము. వేలుపులత్రోవ the sky, ఆకాశము. వేలుపుటిక్క heaven, స్వర్గము. వేల్పుదళవాయి the general of the gods, i.e., Kumāraswāmi, కుమారస్వామి. వేల్పుపెద్ద Brahma, బ్రహ్మదేవుడు, సురజ్యేష్ఠుడు. వేల్పువె౛్జు the physician of the gods, i.e., Dhanvantari, ధన్వంతరి. వేల్పుడు vēlpuḍu. n. Worship, పూజ.

(p. 1220) vēḍemu Same as వేడము. (q. v.) వేడెపెట్టు vēḍe-peṭṭu. v. a. To cause to surround, పరివేష్టింపజేయు.

(p. 1211) veyyi , వెయి or వేయి veyyi. [Tel.] n. A thousand. సహస్రము. వెయిమంది a thousand persons. పదివేలు ten thousand: (this in many places means many.) వెళ్లుమని పదివేలమాట్లు చెప్పినా వాడు వెళ్లలేదు though I told him to go a thousand times he did not go away. వెయ్యేల or వెయిమాటలేల why a thousand words? why say more? i.e., in a word, after all. వెయ్యి కాళ్లజెర్రి veyyi-kāḷḷa-jerri. n. Lit: a thousand-legged centipede. A restless wanderer. వాడు వెయ్యికాళ్లజెర్రి. వానికి ఎక్కడ తీరును he has a thousand jobs in hand, he has no leisure. పదివేలకైనా or పదివేలకున్ను వాణ్ని నమ్మవచ్చును we may trust him in every thing.

(p. 1226) vaikakṣakamu or వైకక్ష్యము vai-kaksha-kamu. [Skt.] n. A garland worn like a sash. ౛ందెమువలె వేసికొను పూదండ.
