(p. 1292) satyamu satyamu. [Skt.] n. Truth, veracity, reality. ని౛ము, యథార్థము. An oath, ప్రమాణము, ఒట్టు. (Vulgarly,) the miraculous power of a deity. (పామరలవాడుకలో) మహాత్మ్యము. adj. True, real, sincere, genuine, truthful. యథార్థమైన, ని౛మైన. సత్యప్రవర్తన truthful behaviour, upright conduct. adv. Yes, verily, truly, indeed, నిజమేను. సత్యముగా చెప్పు to avow, to vouch for. సత్యముచేయు to swear. ఈ అమ్మవారు బహుసత్యము కలిగినదేవత this is a true goddess. భగవత్స్వరూపముల యందు సత్యము తప్పినది the gods have now lost their power, the images now ceased to work miracles. సత్యప్రతిజ్ఞ a sincere promise or vow, తప్పనిమాట. సత్యయుగము satya-yugamu. n. The Golden Age. కృతయుగము. సత్యలోకము satya-lōkamu. n. One of the fourteen heavens of the Puranas. సత్యవంతుడు satya-vantuḍu. n. A truthful or sincere man. సత్యవచస్కుడు or సత్యవాది satya-vachaskuḍu. n. One who speaks the truth, a man of veracity. నిజస్థుడు. సత్యవతి satya-vati. n. A truthful woman. సత్యముగల స్త్రీ. The name of the mother of Vyāsa, and the wife of Narada. సత్యవాక్కు or సత్యవాణి satya-vākku. n. A true statement. సత్యవ్రతుడు satya-vratuḍu. n. One who is devoted to truth, one who is sincere or honest. నిజానికి పాటుపడేవాడు, పెద్దమనిషి. సత్యసంధుడు satya-sandhuḍu. n. An upright man. నిజస్థుడు. సత్యహరిశ్చంద్రుడు one who is as truthful as Harischandra, i.e., a very truthful man, (sometimes used ironically also to mean a liar.) సత్యాకృతి, సత్యంకారము or సత్యావనము saty-ākṛiti. n. The ratification of a bargain, an advance of money, earnest money, క్రయవిక్రయములు గట్టిమాట, బయానా, ౛ట్టి. సత్యానృతము saty-ānṛitamu. n. Commerce, trade, traffic. వాణిజ్యము, వర్తకము.

(p. 1287) sakthi sakthi. [Skt.] n. The thigh. ఊరువు, తొడ. సక్థిమూలము the root of the thigh.

(p. 1316) sahāyamu sahāyamu. [Skt.] adj. Auxiliary. ఉపబలమైన. సహాయము, సహాయత or సహాయ్యము n. Aid, help, assistance, succour, తోడు. నాకు దోవలో సహాయము చిక్కలేదు I had no assistance on the way. సహాయము చేయు to aid, to assist. సహాయముగా sahāyamu-gā. adv. As an assistant, as an aid, in assistance, తోడుగా, అనుకూలముగా. నాకు సహాయముగా వచ్చినాడు he accompanied me to help me. నాకు సహాయముగా మాట్లాడినాడు he spoke in my favour. అతనికి సహాయముగా వచ్చినవారు those who came to support him. సహాయుడు sahāyuḍu. n. An assistant, helper, companion, ally, associate, friend. అనుకూలుడు, తోడైనవాడు, స్నేహితుడు.

(p. 1303) samuddāruḍu samud-dāruḍu. [H.] n. One who manages a Samut or subdivision of a Taluq. ఒక సముతుయొక్క అధికారి.

(p. 1283) saṃvat samvat. [Skt.] n. A year. అబ్దము, ఏడు. సంవత్సరము samvatsaramu. n. A year. హాయనము, ఏడు, సంవత్సరాది sam-vatsar-ādi. n. New Year's Day. యుగాది.

(p. 1278) sandhi sandhi. [Skt.] n. Connection, union combination, junction, coalescence. కూడిక, చేరడము, కలియడము. A joint of the limbs, కీలు. Pacification, peacemaking, conciliation, peace, a treaty. అనుకూలము, సమాధానము. The coalescence of letters in accordance with the laws of euphony. అచ్సంధి the union of vowels. హల్సంధి the union of consonants. ఈయన వారికి సంధి చేసినాడు he made them friends. 'బిట్టుల్కి సంధులు ప్రిదలిగిర్రనుచు.' BD. iv. 359. కుసంధి a bad union. సంధివిగ్రహము peace and war. సంధివిగ్రహాధికారము a war ministry, the duty of a war minister. సంధిబంధనము a ligament. సంధించు san-dhinṭsu. v. a. To cause to meet, to bring together, join, unite. కలుపు, చేర్చు, కూర్చు. సంధించు or సంధిల్లు. v. n. To be joined to or united with, కూడు. సంధితము sandhitamu. adj. Joined, united, connected, bound, చేర్చబడిన, కూర్చబడిన కట్టబడిన. సంధిత్స sandhitsa. n. The desire of joining, an inclination to unite. చేర్చవలెననేయిచ్ఛ. సంధిలు or సంధిల్లు sandhilu. v. n. To happen, occur; to meet. ప్రాప్తమగు, ఎదురుపడు, కలుగు, వచ్చు. 'భక్తిగౌరవము విశ్వాసంబు సంధిల్లగా.' T. ii. 55. 'అచలాత్మజమాటకు లేత నవ్వు సంధిల్ల.' Swa. pref. 2. సంధుడు or సంధురాలు sandhuḍu. n. One who is united with. These words are used in compounds; thus సత్యసంధుడు, సత్యసంధురాలు. a truthful or veracious man or woman.
