(p. 289) kumpaṭi kumpaṭi. [Tel.] n. A chafing dish, a goldsmith's portable furnace. ఇది కుంపట్లో తామర మొలిచినట్లున్నది this is a perfect oasis in the desert. lit. Like a lotus growing in a furnance. A proverb regarding that which is admirable but of base origin.

(p. 596) divyamu divyamu. [Skt.] adj. Divine, heavenly, supernatural, celestial. Fairy, appertaining to fairies or demigods. Grand, superb, glorious, noble, fine, admirable, bright. ఒప్పునది. n. What is divine or done by God, a divine or providential act or event. A calamity sent by Providence, ఉత్పాతము. దివ్యభావము the spiritual sense. దివ్యప్రమాణము a solemn oath. దివ్యదృష్టి divya-dṛishṭi. n. Second sight, supernatural intelligence, దివ్యపాదుకలు seven league boots worn by hermits on active service. యోగవాగాలు. దివ్యచక్షువు divya-chakshuvu. n. One gifted with spiritual insight. జ్ఞానదృష్టిగల వాడు. A man with a good eyesight, మంచి కన్నులు గలవాడు. A blind man, i.e., one who used the mental instead of the physical vision, గుడ్డివాడు. దివ్యభామ divya-bhāma. n. A fairy, an angel. దివ్యార్చన or దేవాతార్చన divy-archana. n. Divine worship. దివ్యుడు divyuḍu. n. A god, a demigod.

(p. 857) baṅgāramu, baṅgaramu, baṅgāru or బంగరు bangāramu. [Tel.] n. Gold. నీ యిల్లు బంగారముకాను or నీబుద్ధి బంగారముకాను bless your innocent heart! you silly creature! కాకి బంగారు tinsel. ముచ్చిబంగారు tinsel, gilding, as distinguished from మంచిబంగారు real gold. బంగారు bangāru. adj. Golden. The various names of gold are used (as in other languages) to denote Fine, noble, beautiful, admirable, thus: బంగారు కొండ or బంగరుకొండ the golden mountain, హేమాద్రి, మేరుపర్వతము; my darling. నా బంగారుదొర my beloved lord! బంగారుపట్ట sweet bird! Also, used to express contempt. బంగారు మర్యాద vastly polite! బంగారున్యాయము a precious reason! బంగారు పని a very pretty business! బంగారు చిన్నవాడు a hopeful lad. వాడు పుట్టినది అంతా బంగారు అవుచువచ్చినది all he did prospered. బంగారుగా bangāru-gā. adv. Grandly. vastly, well, preciously, As easily as possible. As you please! with all my heart! by all means! బంగారుకంటి bang-āru-kanṭi. n. (Lit:) Golden-eyed: A name of a Little Owl, పైడికంటిల and also of a sort of rice. బంగారుతీగలు bangāru-tīgalu. n. (Lit: Gold-sprouts:) A sort of rice. శాలిధాన్యము. బంగారునీరు bangāru-nīmu. n. Gilding. బంగారుపాము bangāru-pāmu. n. A very venomous kind of snake. బంగారుపిచ్చిక bangāru-pichchi-ka. n. The Weaver-bird, Ploccus baya. బంగారుపూత bangāru-pata. n. Gilding. బంగారుపూతలు a kind of grain.

(p. 1021) meccu meṭsṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To applaud, commend, praise, approve, శ్లాఘించు. ఒప్పుకొను. ఆపనికి మెచ్చి approving that act. 'జీవహింసలకును శివుడు మెచ్చండు.' Raghava Pandav. iii. 25. n. Praise, approbation, applause, commendation. మెప్పు, శ్లాఘన, అనుగ్రహము, ప్రీతి, బహుమానము. మెచ్చుపడసెను he was applauded. adj. Praiseworthy, శ్లాఘ్యము. మెచ్చుకొను meṭsṭsu-konu. v. a. To praise, approve, commend. శ్లాఘించు, కొనియాడు. మెచ్చులచెట్టు meṭsṭsula cheṭṭu The admirable tree, an epithet applied to the కల్పవృక్షము. మెచ్చులాడి meṭsṭsul-āḍi. n. A woman who is fit to be admired. మెచ్చుకొనదగిన ఆడుది, మెచ్చులాడు meṭsṭsul-āḍu. n. One who is fit to be admired, మెచ్చుకొనదగినవాడు. మెరమెచ్చు mera-meṭsṭsu. (మెచ్చు + మెచ్చు.) n. Curiosity, wonder; oddity, oddness; an odd thing, a rarity, a thing that causes wonder, a marvel, ఆశ్చర్యము, అద్భుతము. మోమొకవింత చేసికొని her countenance being changed. adj. Strange, rare, curious, odd, queer, foregin, new. చోద్యమైన, కొత్త. Other, అన్యము. వింతచూపులు odd looks. వింతమాటలు strange words. 'అదెయిదెవింత నీడయని యారెకులూరక.' Vasu. iv. 100. వింతగా vinta-gā. adv.
