(p. 154) uttaravādamu uttara-vādamu. [Skt.] n. Responsibility, security. ఉత్తరవాదముచేయు to hold one responsible. ఉత్తరవాది uttara-vādi. n. One who is responsible or answerable. A respondent or defendant, a security. ఉత్తరసభ uttara-sabha. n. An ulterior or superior court.

(p. 577) dakku dakku. [Tel.] v. n. To be available for enjoyement. అనుభివయోగ్యమగు. To fall to one's share or lot; to be saved, to escape. adj. Enjoyable. అనుభయోగ్యము. మీ ప్రాణములు దక్కవు your lives will not be saved. ఈ రూకలు దక్కనిచ్చేదారిలేదు I have no chance of keeping the money. దక్కొను dak-konu. (దక్కు+కొను.) v. n. Occurrence. కలుగుట, సంభవించుట. adj. Taken, usurped: స్వాధీనమైన. Possible, feasible, attainable. దక్కోలుగానిచ్చు dakkōlu-gā-n-iṭsṭsu. v. a. To offer in sacrifice: to present as a gift to a god. దక్కోలుపడు Same as దక్కొను.

A Sanskrit particle, prefixed to words of that language, and implying Opposition or substitution, (instead of, in lieu of, opposed to,) order, distribution, (severally, each by each.) direction, designation, (toward, upon.) possession or inclusion in (as a part, or portion.) exchange, return, (again, back again.) ప్రతివేదమ each Veda. ప్రతిదినము every day. ప్రతిసంవత్సరము each year. ప్రత్యేకము one by one. ప్రతికక్షి the opposite party. ప్రతివాది a defendant. adj. A plaintiff or complainant. వ్యాజ్యము తెచ్చినవాడు, తగవునకుపోయినవాడు. ప్రతివాది a defendant. కార్యవాది one who speaks or argues the point alone. 'కార్యవాదికేల కడుచలంబు.' Vēma. iii. 96. వాదు vādu. (from Skt. వాదము.) n. A dispute, contention, fighting. కలహము, యుద్ధము. 'స్త్రీల యెడవాదులాడకుము.' Sumati. i. 'వలదన్నబోవుదునెవాదుకుదీయక.' Ila. iv. 72. వాదుడుగుట, అనగా జగడముమానుకొనుట. 'మునుగజాస్యునితోవాదుడుగకయొనర్చిన పిమ్మట.' S. iii. 412. వాదుచేయు or వాదులాడు vādu-chēyu. v. n. To dispute, to contend. వివాడమాడు, పోరుచేయు.

A disputant, a contending party in a law-suit. వ్యాజ్యగాండ్రు the parties, plaintiff and defendant. వ్యాజ్యమాడు or వ్యాజ్యపడు vyāj-yam-āḍu. v. n. To contend,litigate, to be at law. To quarrel,dispute, wrangle తగవులాడు, వివాదపడు.

(p. 1244) śaraṇamu ṣaraṇamu. [Skt.] n. A refuge, shelter, asylum, defence, protection, protector. రక్షకము, రక్ఠణము, రక్షకుడు, ఆశ్రయము. A house, గృహము. 'గంజాశరణము.' a liquor shop, కల్లంగడి. P. i. 405. A refugee, one who seeks or takes refuge or shelter with another, one who calls for quarter. శరణుచొచ్చినవాడు. ఆశ్రయించినవాడు. శరణాగతులైరి they threw themselves at his feet, they sought refuge with him. శరనార్థి ṣaraṇ-ārthi. n. A suppliant. petitioner. 'శరణార్థినను గానగాదగు.' Swa. vi. 113. శరణు ṣaraṇu. (another form of శరణము.) n. A refuge, asylum shelter, defence, protection. రక్షణము, ఆశ్రయము. A bow, salutation, prostration, obeisance. నమస్కారము. 'భయార్తులై శరణు జొచ్చివారిని రక్షించుటకంటె' Vish. v. 244. 'విధిగృహాక్షయవిత్తశేవధికిశరణు.' A. vi. 147. శరణుచొచ్చు ṣaraṇu-tsoṭsṭsu. v. n. To take refuge with. శరణుడు ṣaraṇuḍu. n. A preserver, a protector, రక్షకుడు, పోషించువాడు. 'సకలంబుదానైన శరణునకరుగ నొకచచోటు నిలువంగ నొకచోటుకలదె.' L. ii. 262. శరణ్యము or శరణీయము ṣaraṇyamu. adj.
