A scale, as of an armadillo. నఖమాంసన్యాయంబున inseparable as the skin and the nail. నఖశిఖాపర్యంతము ఒళ్లు నొచ్చుచున్నది I am in pain to the tips of my nails, i.e., all over. నఖక్షతము nakha-kshatamu. n. A nail mark made on the skin by pinching.నఖముఖాలు nakha-mukhālu. n. Lit. The tips of the nails. adv. Dispersedly, up and down, all about, in all directions, all over, on all sides. నఖముఖాలనుండి from every quarter. నఖరము nakharamu. n. A nail, talon, claw. గోరు. A kind of weapon, ఆయుధ విశేషము. నకరాయుధము nakhar-āyu-dhamu. n. Lit: 'Armed with claws;' i.e., a cat, a lion, &c., but usually a cock, కోడి. నఖరేఖలు nakha-rēkhalu. n. Nail-marks or scratches.

Genteel, urbane, civil, polite, polished, elegant, refined, civilised. నాగరికుడు nāgarikuḍu. n. A gentleman, a man of elegance a civilised person.

Polished behaviour. నాగరికత. నీకు వజ్రముల నాణెము తెలుసునా are you a judge of diamonds. A coin or piece of money. నాణ్యమైన or నాణెమైన naṇyam-aina. adj. Fine, honest, good. నాణెముచూచు noble devotion. నాణెముడూచు nāṇemu-ṭsūṭsu. v. n. To try (a thing's) goodness. నాణెకాడు nāṇe-gāḍu. n. An appraiser, or valuer. నాడెకత్తె or నాణెకత్తె ṇāḍe-katte. n. A polished woman. నాణెముకలది.

Various species of పాములు are called కంపునాగము, చింత N. దుంప N. పీత N. శంకు N. జొన్న N. కృష్ణ N. కోడె. N. adj. Large, పెద్ద. When used as the second part of compound, (సమాసము) it means Excellent. శ్రేష్ఠము. నాగకంకణుడు nāga-kankanuḍu. n. Siva who wears a 'bracelet of snakes.' నాగకేసరము nāga-kēsaramu. n. The small tree termed Mesua ferra. Rox. ii. 605. నాగగన్నేరు a large species of Oleander. నాగగొలంగ nāga-golanga. n. A plant called Murraya exolica. Rox. ii. 374. నాగజెముడు nāga-jemuḍu. n.
