(p. 769) purandhri purandhri. [Skt.] n. A mistress of a family, a matron, a good woman. కుటుంబిని, కుటుంబమును పోషించు స్త్రీ.

(p. 752) piccika or పిచ్చుక pichhika. [Tel.] n. A sparrow. పిచ్చికకుంటు, పిచ్చికుంటు, పిచ్చుకకుంటు,లేక, పిచ్చుకుంటు one who hops like a sparrow, i.e., a lame man; a cripple. అనూరుడు, కాళ్లులేనివాడు; a beggar, బిచ్చమెత్తువాడు. వెదురుపిచ్చిక, కొండపిచ్చిక, చెరుకుపిచ్చిక, ఊరపిచ్చుక, పొదపిచ్చిక, పేదపిచ్చుక are different species. పిచ్చికగోళ్లు pichchika-gōḷḷu. n. 'Sparrow's claws.' A sort of grain. H. iv. 156. పిచ్చికమీను pichchika-mīnu n. A flying fish, Exocetus volitans. పిచ్చుకకాలు piṭsṭsuka-kālu. n. A kind of grass.

(p. 837) prayōgamu pra-yōgamu. [Skt.] n. An application, use or employment, as of a weapon, tool, word, or a spell. Administration of a medicine, నడుపుట. A usage. In grammar, a voice. కర్తృ కర్మ క్రియల కూడిక. మహాబిల్వాదిప్రయోగము a prescription of Bilwa and other drugs. దీనికి కాళిదాస ప్రయోగమున్ణది Kalidasa has used this word. యక్షీణీప్రయోగముచేయు to bewitch or send a devil into (a person.) ఈ ఔషధప్రయోగముచేసినాడు he administered this medicine. విషప్రయోగముచేసి చంపినాడు he killed him by means of poison. బాణప్రయోగముచేసినాడు he used an arrow, i.e., discharged it. ప్రయోగించు pra-yōginṭsu. v. a. To use, practise, administer; use, as a weapon. ఉపయోగించు. ప్రయోజకుడు pra-yōjakuḍu. n. One who uses. The original instigator of any act. A clever man, a genius. కార్యమును నెరవేర్చువాడు. వాడు శుద్ధ అప్రయోజకుడు he is quite a useless person. ప్రయోజనము pra-yōjanamu. n. Use, advantage, profit. A thing to be kept or observed, as a holy day, or a feast పండుగ. An affair, business. కార్యము. A cause, motive. హేతువు. శుభప్రయోజనము a happy occasion (as a wedding.) రేపు మాయింట్లో కొంచెము ప్రయోజనము గనుక రావడానికి వల్లలేదు I cannot come to-morrow as there are some rites to be observed at home. అక్కడికి నీవుపోయినందుకు ఏమి ప్రయోజనము what is the use (good, or advantage) of your going there? ప్రయోజనప్రస్తుతములకు వారిని మేముపిలువడములేదు we do not invite them to parties. In Grammar, ప్రయోజ్యకర్త the indirect agent (in the instrumental case.) ప్రయోజకకర్త the direct agent (in the nominative case.)

(p. 841) prasādamu pra-sādamu. [Skt.] n. Clearness, నైర్మల్యము. Composure of mind. స్వాస్థ్యము. Favour, kindness, grace, అనుగ్రహము. Food presented to a god or blest by a priest and then distributed in a temple. The remains of an offering thus presented. భగవంతుడులోనగువారిచే భక్తపరిశిష్టమైన అన్నము మొదలగునది. మహాప్రసాదము an exclamation implying, 'Your pleasure!' ' Thy will is our law.' ప్రసాదించు prasād-inṭsu. v. a. To favour. అనుగ్రహించియిచ్చు. 'సదములభక్తి ప్రసాదింపు నాకు' bestow faith upon me.

Respectable, great, grand, fine, noble. ఎదిగిన, దిట్టయైన, గంభీరమైన. ప్రౌఢనాయిక a full grown girl. ప్రౌఢవాక్కు a grand style. ప్రౌఢకావ్యము a noble poem. ఆ చిన్నది ప్రౌఢ అయినతర్వాత after the girl grew up. ప్రౌఢత్వము prauḍhatvamu. n. Skilfulness; ability; grandeur. ప్రౌఢి or ప్రౌఢిమ prauḍhi. n. Dignity, skilfulness, ability, సామర్థ్యము, ఉత్సాహము, ప్రగల్భత. ప్రౌఢుడు prauḍhuḍu. n. One who is mature, wise, skilful, vigorous, clever. ప్రగల్భుడు, ఘనుడు. ప్రౌఢురాలు praudhurālu. n. She who is mature, skilful, wise, vigorous, clever. ప్రగల్భురాలు.
