To swallow, devour. కబళించు. గ్రుక్కిళ్లు మింగు to swallow one's saliva, to stand speechless, to smother one's grief: to water, as the mouth, అపేక్షించు. గ్రుక్కిళ్లు ఎందుకు మింగుతావు చెప్పు why do you falter so in speaking. 'కన్నపుదొంగలువచ్చిరె, మిన్నక యీలోనివారె మింగిరటంచున్.' Vaij. iv. 54. the people inside have devoured it. మింగనగొండి, మింగగొడ్డి or మ్రింగనగొండి minga-na-goṇḍi. n. A glutton. తిండిపోతు. (p. 1049) maukhari or మౌఖర్యము maukhari. [Skt. from ముఖరము.] n. Crossness, a scolding disposition, talkativeness. దుష్టనిష్ఠురవచో భావము. అక్కరలేని మాటలు ప్రేలడము, వాపోవుట. 'మౌఖరిమించినిట్టులను, మంత్రిశిఖామణి చోద్యమయ్యె నీవైఖరివిన్న నేమనగవచ్చు.' Vijaya. i. 137.

(p. 936) manda manda. [Tel.] n. A flock or herd of cattle. పశుసమూహము. A place where the flocks or herds are kept outside a village, ఊరికిబయట పశువులుండుచోటు. A hamlet, inhabited by herdsmen, గొల్లపల్లె. కుక్కల మంద a pack of dogs. మందకట్టు or మందకట్టుబాటు the bye-laws of shepherds. గొల్లలు ఏర్పరచుకొన్న ఏర్పాటు. ఆ చేలకు మందకట్టిరి they manured the field by penning sheep or goats on it. మందగొను manda-gonu. v. n. To come together in a crowd, మందగాకూడు. మందపిచ్చిక manda-pichchika. n. The name of a little white breasted bird with a black-head. శిరమందపిచ్చిక a species with a yellow breast. మందప్రోయాలు manda-prōyālu. n. A shepherdness; గొల్లది.

A grasshopper, locust, or cricket. శలభము. ఆకుమిడత a green grasshopper. మిడతంభట్ల జోస్యము a happy hit. వెదురు మిడత the cricket that bores the bamboo. ఉప్పుమిడత a large kind of cricket. గొల్ల మిడత or గొల్లభామ a grasshopper. జెట్టి మిడత the wrestler locust, so named from its strength.

(p. 986) mithunamu mithunamu. [Skt.] n. A couple, a brace, a pair: particularly male and female. ఆలుమగల౛త. The sign Gemini 'తెరువుననొక మిథునము జూదరులంగను గొంటె.' M. XIII. ii. 220. ఒక మిధునముజూదరులు a pair of gamblers మిథునకర్మము sexual intercourse, సంబోగము, రతి. 'మిథునకర్మంలు చేతగాని ప్రజావృద్ధిలేదనుచు.' Vish. ii. 270.

Musk, కస్తూరి. మదాంధతి the blindness of pride, haughtiness. విద్యామదము the pride of learning. ధనమదము the pride of wealth. ధనదాంధుడు he who is blinded by riches. కులమదము the pride of caste or birth. ఉద్యోగమదము the pride of office. రూపమదము the pride of beauty. యౌవన మదము the pride of youth. అన్నమదము the pride of plenty. స్త్రీమదము the pride of passion. మదాలస indolent, heavy as with tipsiness or lust. అతని మదమణిగినది his lustful arrogance has gone, he has sown his wild oats. adj. Proud. మదగజము an elephant in rut. 'మదవైరిద్విపసింహముర్తి.' G. viii. 4. మదించు madinṭsu. v. n.
