(p. 447) cāmanamu or చామనచాయ tsāmanamu. [Tel.] n. A light complexion, a brown on straw colour. Any dark hue whether blue or black. మక్కచామనము a dark brown. ఎర్రచామనము bistre.

(p. 483) zuṭṭu ḍzuṭṭu. [Tel.] n. A crest, as that of a peacock. The lock worn by Hindu men on the top of the head. అవిద్యజుట్టు అతనికి దొరికినది he has got a good hold of that art. ౛ుట్టుపట్టి సొమ్ము అడిగినాడు he caught him by the hair and insisted on payment. ౛ుట్టుపిట్ట ḍzuṭṭu-piṭṭa. n. A peacock. ౛ుట్టు పిట్టతాలుపు an epithet of Kumāraswāmi. ౛ుట్టుబాతు ḍzuṭṭu-bātu. n. The crested goose.

(p. 424) cīpuru chīpuru. [Tel.] n. A broom. చీపురు గడ్డి a kind of grass. Aristida sctacea. (Watts.) చీపురుపుల్లలు the twigs of which a broom is made. చీపురుముండ్లు bits of a broom like burns. చీపురుకట్ట. rubbish.

(p. 428) cedaru or చెదురు chedaru. [Tel.] v. n. To scatter; to be dispersed, dissipated, or spent. To splash, to be disordered, dishevelled. To fail or wander, as the mind or attention. To be dazzled. చంచలించు. చెదర గొట్టు chedara-goṭṭu. v. a. To disperse, rout, defeat. చెదరబడు. Same as చెదరు.

The name is given to some insects, as a moth, thus, ఆకుచిలక, వడ్లచిలక a moth. గడ్డిచిలక, సీతాకోకచిలక a butterfly. A padlock. The bolt or hasp of a door, because these originally had parrot's heads on them. చిలుకల కొలికి a bright-eyed girl or woman. చక్కని స్త్రీ. చిలకకూర or చిలకతోటకూర chilaka-kūra. n. A kind of pot-herb, Amarantus fasciatus. (Watts.) చిలక, చిలకట or చిలుకడ chilaka. n. A saddle buckle: a ring at the end of the rope used as a girth of the bullock saddle through which the other end is passed to fasten the saddle. కొలికిముడి. చిలకడతాడు chilakada-tāḍu. n. The cord that fastens a dagger, to prevent its falling out of the sheath. చిలకతాళము chilaka-tāḷamu. n. A padlock. చిలకతాళి or చిలుకతాళి chilaka-tāḷi. n. A gold buckle in the form of a pair of parrots. చిలుకదుదుడి chilaka-duduḍi. n. The name of a certain tree. చిలకపచ్చ chilaka-paṭsṭsa. n.
